The Land of the Earth

Chapter 4 Enrollment

Back at Tu Village, the village chief looked at Song Chaoming and Jingyun and said lovingly, "You guys take a rest first. I'll go register you."

After saying that, the village chief walked away with a slightly staggering step.

Song Chaoming and Jingyun returned to their respective rooms, unable to calm down for a long time. They were full of expectations and longings for the future, but also felt a little reluctant to leave Tu Village. They tossed and turned in bed, unable to fall asleep.

The next morning, just as the sun was shining on the roofs of Tu Village, the village chief came to Song Chaoming and Jingyun, his face filled with a relieved smile, and said, "Okay, you've signed up. You can go in a few days."

Song Chaoming and Jingyun jumped up excitedly when they heard the news. Jingyun held the village chief's hand and kept saying, "Grandpa, that's great, thank you!"

Song Chaoming also said excitedly: "Grandpa Village Chief, we will study hard and live up to your expectations!"

The village chief smiled and nodded, his eyes full of blessings and expectations for them.

In the next few days, Song Chaoming and Jingyun made preparations before departure while saying goodbye to their fellow villagers. Their nostalgic glances were left in every corner of Tu Village.

A few days later, Song Chaoming and Jingyun said goodbye to the people in the village and walked towards Tucheng with a feeling of nervousness and excitement.

Along the way, the two spoke very little, but just silently quickened their pace, as if some unknown fate was waiting for them ahead.

After walking for two hours, a magnificent city finally appeared before them.

The city wall is towering, and above the city gate are inscribed four large characters "Tucheng College" in bold strokes, exuding a majestic aura.

The people around walked inside, and Song Chaoming and Jingyun followed closely behind.

As soon as I entered the city gate, a stern voice came over: "There is a test before admission. You go and challenge the wolf demon. If you succeed, you will be admitted. If you fail, get out. This academy does not accept waste!"

The sound was like thunder, exploding in the crowd and instantly quieting the originally noisy scene.

Afterwards, everyone was taken to an open space, where they saw a group of wolf demons locked in a huge iron cage. They were baring their fangs and claws, with ferocious light flashing in their eyes, and they kept making low roars from their mouths, which made people shudder.

The test began, and people rushed forward one after another to fight the wolf demon.

"Failure, failure..." Such voices kept ringing, and one candidate after another was defeated by the wolf demon and was driven out of the venue in a mess.

It was Song Chaoming's turn. He took a deep breath, his eyes firm and calm, staring closely at the manic wolf demon in front of him.

I saw him clenching his fists, veins bulging on his arms, and his feet firmly planted on the ground, like a big tree deeply rooted in the earth.

Then, he muttered something and used vines to entangle.

In an instant, countless green vines shot out from his hands and quickly wrapped around the wolf demon's body like nimble green snakes.

The wolf demon struggled desperately, its sharp claws scratching in the air, trying to break free from the vines, but Song Chaoming's vines became tighter and tighter. Fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead, his teeth were clenched, and his eyes were full of determination.

In the end, the wolf demon was tightly bound and unable to move, and Song Chaoming successfully defeated the wolf demon.

Jingyun then stepped forward fearlessly, her beautiful face brimming with confidence and determination as she raised her head slightly.

She raised her hands, her slender fingers dancing gracefully. With a soft shout, she unleashed a rain of fire. Instantly, blazing flames rained down from the sky, striking the wolf demon like a dazzling meteor.

The roar of the flames was mixed with the wolf demon's wailing. Jingyun stared at the wolf demon intently, without a trace of retreat in his eyes.

Not until the wolf demon fell in the rain of fire did she let out a light breath, the corners of her mouth slightly raised, revealing a smile of victory.

After several hours, the test finally ended. Less than a third of the people succeeded, while the rest were sent back dejectedly.

Song Chaoming and Jingyun looked at each other with joy and pride in their eyes. They knew that this was just the beginning and their future days at Tucheng College would be filled with more challenges and opportunities.

The class division began. Everyone stared at the teacher in charge nervously, not daring to breathe. The teacher held a list in his hand and read out the names and their corresponding classes one by one.

"Zhang Xin, Class 1."

"Li Fan, Class 2."

Every time a name was called, the person whose name was called felt either happy or worried. Finally, the teacher's voice came: "Song Chaoming, Class 5." Song Chaoming breathed a sigh of relief.

Then, the teacher continued to read: "Jingyun, Class 5." Hearing this, Song Chaoming and Jingyun looked at each other, and both of them showed surprise and happiness in their eyes.

Everyone walked into their own classes, and Song Chaoming and Jingyun also walked side by side and entered their Class 5 classroom.

Some students had already arrived in the classroom. They were either sitting quietly in their seats or chatting in low voices in groups of two or three.

Song Chaoming and Jingyun found two adjacent seats and sat down, looking at the new classmates around them curiously.

The sunlight shines through the window onto the desks, forming patches of golden light.

Song Chaoming narrowed his eyes slightly, feeling the strangeness and anticipation brought by this new environment.

Jingyun gently adjusted her clothes with a smile on her face.

After a while, a teacher came in and the classroom suddenly became quiet.

The teacher walked into the classroom and said seriously, “You must practice well. Let me explain this world to you.

The world we live in is called the mortal world. The mortal world is divided into: the terrestrial continent, the celestial continent, the immortal continent, the divine continent, and the imperial continent. We live in the terrestrial continent.

The Earth Continent is divided into: the Dark Clan, the Light Clan, the Dream Clan, and the Mortal Clan. The Light Clan and the Dream Clan were wiped out by the Dark Clan 10,000 years ago, and now only our Mortal Clan and the Dark Clan are left.

If a strong man above the Eternal Realm had not appeared in the Mortal Clan before, our Mortal Clan might have ceased to exist.

All I know is that he is getting older and older, and his life span is not long. Now that the Dark Clan is getting stronger, you must hurry up and practice, otherwise you will be wiped out like the Light Clan and the Dark Clan 10,000 years ago.

Okay, I'm done, get out of class is dismissed.

There will be a competition in a few days. If you are eliminated, get out. I won't accept such a poor student."

As soon as the teacher finished speaking, the classroom fell into silence. The students' expressions became serious, some frowned, some pursed their lips, and everyone realized the seriousness of the situation.

Song Chaoming clenched his fists, secretly resolving to cultivate diligently and not let the Mortal Clan repeat the mistakes of the Light Clan and the Dream Clan. Jingyun's eyes also revealed a determination, knowing that she shouldered a heavy responsibility.

After a while, the students stood up one after another and walked out of the classroom silently. Everyone felt heavy in their hearts, as if a huge rock was pressing on them.
