Three Women in the Cage

Chapter 39: Sneaking Out

Their conversation ended in vain, but no matter what, Yang Yu still disagreed.

After that, Yang Su stayed quiet for a few days, stayed at home to help take care of Yang Yu and his niece, and did not go out again.

Apart from helping in the kitchen every day, he would take Huanhuan around the village, and then talk to Yang Yu in the evening, as if they had returned to the time when neither of them was married.

Yang Su joked, "Sister, it would be great if it could always be like this. We don't have to get married and our family can stay together forever."

"Actually, there were times when I was quite conflicted. When I was a child, I always wanted to grow up. I felt that when I grew up, I would become very powerful and be able to protect my family. But when I grew up, my family could no longer be together. The family we once had would eventually be separated. If I had known this, I would have wanted to stay in the past." Yang Su sighed.

"Don't think too much. No matter how we are apart, our hearts are together. We share the same blood and that cannot be changed. We have just grown up and are destined to take on certain responsibilities and obligations." Yang Yu said calmly.

As they were talking, Huanhuan suddenly walked in and spread her hands in front of them. There were a few candies in her palms.

"Who gave it to you?" Yang Yu asked doubtfully.

Huanhuan pointed outside and said, "A handsome brother."

Yang Su suddenly thought of something, stood up, and walked out while saying, "I'll go out and take a look, I'll be back soon", and he also picked up Huanhuan by the way.

As soon as he walked out of the courtyard gate, he saw a young boy standing there. His slightly long hair was tucked behind his ears, revealing his delicate ears and fair skin. He turned his head and looked at Yang Su with a pair of sharp eyes and a bit of mischief. The corners of his mouth were raised frivolously, revealing a hint of unruly and provocative.

Despite having seen him countless times, Yang Su was captivated once again. She loved the boy's mischievous eyes, his cool demeanor, and his unique aura that captivated her. His presence was like a fatal attraction, drawing her closer, like the opium poppy, knowing it's poisonous but still unable to resist its allure.

"Why are you here?" Yang Su ran over in a hurry, with a look of surprise on his face and joy that he couldn't hide in his heart.

"I haven't seen you come to see me these days, so I came to see you," the boy said a little unhappy.

"My elder sister recently came back to stay in confinement after giving birth, and she brought her two nieces with her. I was worried that my mother couldn't take care of her alone, so I wanted to take care of her at home. Besides, I haven't seen my elder sister for a long time, and I want to talk to her more," Yang Su coaxed.

"But I miss you. You don't come to me, and you don't let me come to you?" The boy said unhappily.

"I'm not afraid that my parents will kick you out. You know my parents don't like us to be together. Otherwise, why don't you go back and ask your parents to come over and propose marriage?" Yang Su joked.

"My parents haven't canceled my engagement yet, so they won't come to propose marriage again, Susu, but I only want to be with you, and I don't like anyone else." The boy was a little helpless.

"Whether they agree or not, I want to be with you. Will you stop associating with me because your parents object?" the boy grabbed Yang Su's hand and said a little aggrievedly.

"No, Brother Chi, I just want to be with you, and I don't know what to do now. But don't worry, I won't back down."

"Aunt?" Huanhuan stood aside and spoke helplessly. She saw her aunt throwing her aside and kept talking to her brother. She was afraid that her aunt would ignore her like her grandmother and the others.

The boy frowned and said, "Is this your niece? Is she always pestering you?"

"Oh, no more. You go first. I'll come to see you tomorrow." Yang Su didn't want to be affectionate in front of the child, and was afraid that his parents would come back and see it, so he urged the boy to leave first.

After getting Yang Su's promise, the boy turned around and left reluctantly.

After Yang Su saw the boy walk away, he came over with a smile and picked up Huanhuan. "My dear Huanhuan, do you want some more candy?"

“want to eat”

"If you want to eat, do you want to listen to your aunt?" Yang Su tempted her.

"I'll listen to my aunt," Huanhuan answered Yang Su with her big round eyes.

"Well, don't tell your grandparents or your uncle what you saw today, okay?"

Although Huanhuan didn't understand, she still nodded heavily. She liked her aunt and wanted to listen to her.

"Go play by yourself, I'll talk to your mother." Yang Su put Huanhuan down, watched her go play by herself, and went into the bedroom to find Yang Yu.

"He's been gone for so long, it must be him who's here," Yang Yu asked straight to the point.

Yang Su walked over with an awkward smile and said, "Sister, don't tell mom and dad. He just saw that I didn't go to see him for a few days, so he came to ask me. I have already let him go."

"I'm too lazy to care about you anymore. I've said everything I need to say. From now on, it's up to you to choose your own path. Just don't regret it. I'm a mess now, and you can see it. You can do whatever you want." Yang Yu sighed helplessly. He knew that no matter how much he tried to persuade her, her younger sister wouldn't listen. Perhaps this is what love is all about. Its beauty makes people yearn for it, but only by experiencing it firsthand can you understand the ups and downs of it.

Yang Yu knew that as an outsider, the more she tried to stop her younger sister, the more she would rush forward, even at the cost of everything. Some things can only be truly understood and learned through personal experience. Even if she ended up bruised and battered, she could only silently wish her younger sister happiness and hope she wouldn't be hurt too deeply.

I figured it out and didn't bother to say anything to her anymore.

The next day, after lunch, Yang Su quietly said to Yang Yu, "Sister, I'm going out for a while and will be back soon. If mom and dad ask about it, please cover for me."

"I didn't agree with you being with him. It's good enough that I didn't tell my parents about you. I even covered for you. What are you thinking? Don't mess around," Yang Yu said speechlessly.

"Okay, I won't talk to you anymore. Just don't tell on me. I love you, elder sister." After saying that, she secretly ran out of the back door of the yard.

"Mom, isn't my aunt going to play with me today?" Huanhuan asked Yang Yu unhappily.

"Hwanhuan, be good. Auntie has to go out for something today. I will play with you when I come back," Yang Yu coaxed.

Seeing that she was still unhappy, Yang Yu said, "How about you come over and help your mother coax your sister to sleep?"

Sure enough, Huanhuan's eyes lit up, and she ran over happily, imitating her mother's way, patting her sister to sleep.

When Huanhuan fell asleep in bed with her sister, Yang Yu glanced at the time on the wall. An hour had passed. She just hoped that Yang Su could come back before dinner. She was really worried that her younger sister would be kept by the boy again.

Yang Yu fell into a deep sleep while waiting anxiously. She woke up to a noise and heard her mother's voice coming from the kitchen.

"Why is Susu not at home again? She's out somewhere else again, causing me so much worry all day long."

"I guess she has gone to look for that boy again. It seems we have to find her a marriage, so that she won't run around outside all day long. What a shame," said Yang's father sternly.

Yang Su had been out for several hours and hadn't returned yet, so Yang Yu was getting a little anxious. Just as she was getting worried, her mother came in.

"Yu, do you know where your younger sister has gone? I saw her around you every day in recent days. Why is she not at home today?" Yang's mother asked casually.

"She said this afternoon that she was going to Xiaomei's house to learn embroidery. She must have gotten so excited that she forgot the time. Mom, don't worry about her. She will probably stay at her house very late," Yang Yu replied guiltily.

Mother Yang looked at Yang Yu doubtfully, then turned and left.
