The Rebirth of the God of Law: The Lord of the God Realm
Chapter 78: Strategies for Approaching the Artifact
Strategies for approaching artifacts
In this mysterious and perilous divine relic, Carl was like an adventurer searching for an exit from a dark maze, his eyes fixed on the ever-shifting protective forces around him, never missing a single subtle change. His heartbeat quickened with nervousness and anticipation, its rhythm like a war drum, thump-thump-thump in his chest, each beat a cheer of encouragement and a reminder of the enormity of this perilous mission.
"Hey, elf, you gotta keep a close eye on it for me. This is only one chance. If we miss it, we'll both be in trouble!" Carl whispered to the elf on his shoulder. The elf's wings gently flapped against his ears, making a fluttering sound. As he spoke, he silently prayed for the operation to go smoothly. The dire consequences of failure surfaced in his mind, and those images made him shudder, but the determination in his eyes remained unwavering.
"I know, I know. Don't worry. My eyes are very sharp!" The elf patted his chest and assured. He looked like a little soldier with a heavy responsibility on his shoulders, with his eyes wide open and rolling around.
After long observation, Carl, like a scholar unraveling a complex puzzle, finally discovered the secret of the guardian powers. These seemingly invulnerable guardian powers, like a weary soldier, would, at specific intervals, experience a brief weakness. This discovery ignited a spark of hope within Carl, a flame that leaped wildly within him, threatening to burn away all his anxiety. He felt as if, after groping in the darkness for so long, he had finally seen a glimmer of light. Though faint, it was enough to illuminate his path forward.
He began calculating the seconds like a precise timer, each passing second etched in his mind. The air around him seemed frozen, only his thoughts raced at full speed, his expression focused like a cheetah stalking its prey. He replayed his calculations in his mind, his eyes fixed on the fluctuations of the protective power, as if staring at a treasure trove about to open, a mixture of excitement and trepidation welling up within him. He knew this was a race against time and danger; a single misstep could spell doom. But he had no choice. For the sake of the artifact, to increase his strength and unlock the secrets of the divine realm, he had to take the risk.
"Ready? Now!" Carl shouted, his voice echoing through the ruins like a charge. He quickly cast his spell, muttering a mysterious incantation, his speed and agility instantly enhanced. A faint halo of light enveloped his body, a halo that whirred around him like a burning flame or flowing ice. Carl felt a surge of power, as if the world was his. He vowed to himself to seize this opportunity and not let the artifact slip away.
In a fleeting moment between attacks, Carl dashed like a flash towards the nearest artifact—a longsword emanating the power of ice and fire. Like a sleeping king, the sword hovered quietly in mid-air, its blade radiating a blend of faint blue and fiery red, a light like the brightest nebula in the universe, beautiful yet fraught with danger. The forces of ice and fire intertwined and collided on the blade, creating a sizzling sound, like the quarrel of two powerful forces. Gazing at the sword, Carl felt a surge of intense desire, overwhelmed like a surging tide. He imagined himself, this artifact in hand, galloping through the divine realm, solving every mystery. Those images filled his blood with passion and strengthened his resolve.
The surrounding guardian forces seemed to sense Carl's movements and began to stir frantically. Their once measured attacks became more intense, with streams of divine power raining down on Carl like raindrops. Some blazed like giant fireballs, scorching everything as they fell from the sky. Others whizzed through the air like sharp icicles, emitting a whirring sound like arrows of death, hurtling towards Carl.
"Wow, they're getting mad!" Carl yelled, his figure darting through the attacks like a petrel in a storm, nimble and courageous. His speed was extreme, leaving a trail of afterimages in his wake, like mischievous ghosts, appearing and disappearing amidst the attacks of the guardian forces. He secretly congratulated himself on his previous observation and preparation, but at the same time, he dared not let his guard down. Every time he dodged an attack, he felt like he was dancing under the Grim Reaper's scythe, vulnerable to being struck. But his gaze remained firm, with a single thought in mind: charge at the artifact.
"Carl, be careful to your left!" The elf shouted nervously in the air, its voice as sharp as an alarm, "There's a big fireball flying towards you, and that guy doesn't look like he's formidable!"
"I see!" Carl responded, jerking sideways and dodging the fireball at an incredible angle. The fireball brushed past him, its scorching heat searing his cheeks and causing his hair to curl slightly, emitting a scorching smell. He groaned inwardly. The attack was more powerful than he'd imagined; a direct hit would have been disastrous. But he didn't have time to dwell on it, as the next wave of attacks could arrive soon.
"Phew, that was a close call! I almost ended up being roasted!" Carl quipped. Though sweat covered his face, his gaze remained resolute. He tried to use this lighthearted approach to ease the tension and also to cheer himself up. He knew he couldn't afford to be intimidated now; he had to remain calm and optimistic to keep moving forward.
Dodging attacks, Carl drew closer and closer to the artifact. The sword of ice and fire shone brighter, as if beckoning him. The icy and fiery energies within the sword seemed to sense Carl's approach, their fluctuations growing more intense, as if welcoming this brave challenger, yet also warning him of the impending danger. Watching the sword approach, Carl's desire grew stronger. He felt an invisible connection to the artifact, as if it had always belonged to him.
"Hey, baby, here I come!" Carl shouted at the longsword, his eyes filled with desire and excitement, like a child seeing a favorite toy. His heartbeat quickened again, this time not from nervousness but from excitement. He could already see the moment he would grasp the hilt of the sword, and the feeling filled him with eagerness.
However, just as Carl was about to make contact with the sword, an invisible barrier suddenly appeared before him. Like a transparent wall, it seemed fragile yet contained immense power. Carl was caught off guard and collided headfirst into it. With a loud thud, he was flung back, his body arcing in midair before crashing heavily to the ground.
"Ouch, what the hell is this?" Carl groaned, rubbing his head. He felt like he'd hit a mountain, his head buzzing. He mentally cursed himself for being so careless. He knew it wouldn't be so easy to obtain the artifact, but he still let his guard down. He felt a wave of frustration and dismay. He had finally come so close to success, only to be blocked by this barrier.
"Carl, are you okay?" The elf flew over hurriedly and looked at him worriedly.
"I'm fine, it's just that this barrier is a bit of a problem," Carl said, frowning. He rose from the ground, dusted himself off, and his gaze grew resolute again. He knew this was the final hurdle; if he could break through this barrier, he would obtain the artifact. He mentally encouraged himself, telling himself not to give up. He had overcome so many difficulties before, and he could do it this time, too. He stared at the barrier, a flicker of determination in his eyes, like a warrior facing his final enemy, ready to give it his all.
He walked up to the barrier again, examining it carefully. It seemed flawless, but Carl believed there must be a way to break through it. He reached out and gently touched the barrier, feeling the powerful force. Suddenly, he noticed tiny dots of light flickering on the barrier, and these dots of light seemed to follow a certain pattern.
"Elf, look at these dots of light! They seem to hold the key to unlocking the barrier," Carl said excitedly, a glimmer of hope rekindled in his eyes. He thought to himself, this might be the chance to break through the barrier; he must not miss it. He felt a surge of motivation, his previous frustration and annoyance swept away, replaced by the excitement and anticipation of solving the mystery.
"Really? But why do I feel like they look just like stars in the sky, nothing special?" The elf tilted his head and looked at the spots of light in confusion.
"No, they must hold a secret," Carl muttered to himself, concentrating on deciphering the patterns of these light spots. His eyes were as sharp as an eagle's, capturing every detail. In this challenging moment, Carl was like a desperate gambler, placing all his hopes on unlocking the secrets of this barrier. His heartbeat quickened slightly with nervousness, and beads of sweat formed on his forehead, but he remained oblivious, completely absorbed in studying the patterns of the light spots.
As time went on, Carl gradually discovered a pattern in the light spots. The frequency and arrangement of these light spots seemed to be somehow connected to the weak points of the protective power surrounding the artifact. A surge of ecstasy welled up in his heart, as if he had finally found the exit after groping in the darkness for a long time. He cheered inwardly, feeling that victory was within reach.
"I get it! Little elf, we have a solution!" Carl shouted excitedly, his voice echoing through the ruins, filled with hope and confidence. He cast his magic once more, preparing to break through the barrier based on the patterns of the light spots and the weak points of the guardian force. At this crucial moment, Carl was like a warrior about to open the door to treasure, charging towards his final goal. His heart was filled with fighting spirit, and his mind already imagined himself breaking through the barrier and grasping the artifact. And the sword of ice and fire, quietly awaiting its new master, this thrilling contest was about to reach its final climax.
