The Rebirth of the God of Law: The Lord of the God Realm
Chapter 6 Mysterious Ancient Books
Mysterious ancient books
Peace gradually returns to the town after the attack by the magical beast, but Carl's heart is plagued by a new mystery. He knows that the red line hidden in the magical beast's eye is no accident, and there must be a deeper conspiracy behind it. And his pursuit of the truth will soon lead him to another mysterious realm: the ancient family library.
The library, nestled deep within the family's domain, stood an ancient and solemn structure. Its exterior walls were covered in age-worn vines, as if nature had draped a mysterious veneer over this treasure trove of knowledge. The door, a heavy composite of iron and wood, was inscribed with ancient magical runes. These runes shone faintly, as if guarding the secrets within.
Carl gently pushed open the door, and a stale air filled the air. The smell of dust mingled with the distinct aroma of old paper and magical ink. Sunlight filtered through the stained glass windows, casting a dazzling array of colorful light and shadows across the rows of tall bookshelves, creating a dreamlike scene.
Karl wandered through the bookshelves, searching intently for clues that might connect to the Red Line Marker or a higher realm of magic. Suddenly, in a secluded corner, his eyes were drawn to a dusty ancient tome. It sat at the bottom shelf, seemingly long forgotten.
The cover of the ancient book was worn and tattered, the writing blurred, but Carl could still sense the mysterious aura it emanated. He carefully picked up the tome and gently brushed away the dust. The paper was made of a unique material, soft yet tough to the touch, a feeling that made his heart beat faster. He had seen similar material in a mysterious city in the sky in his previous life, a place steeped in legend. Legend had it that only the most powerful magicians were qualified to enter.
Carl excitedly flipped open the ancient tome, his eyes widening at the contents. It contained ancient and mysterious magical theories and unique magic circles. The patterns of these circles were intricate and exquisite, their interwoven lines seeming to hold the secrets of the universe. Each circle was accompanied by detailed text, though the text was written in an ancient and difficult language. However, Carl could still grasp some key insights, which seemed inextricably linked to achieving a higher realm.
“This… this may be the key to changing everything.” Carl muttered to himself, his eyes flashing with excitement.
From that day on, Carl began to spend a great deal of time studying this ancient book. He spent almost all of his free time in the library, deciphering the contents of the ancient book word by word under the dim candlelight. However, the knowledge in the ancient book was too profound, and there were many parts that he could not understand.
Once, while trying to decipher a theory about the fusion of space and time magic, he encountered enormous difficulties. The descriptions in the ancient book were like a tangled mess, and the harder he tried to sort it out, the more confused he became.
"Karl, you're here again?" Lillian's voice broke the silence of the library. She walked over to Karl, carrying a plate of food and a glass of water. "You can't keep studying like this without food or water. Your body won't be able to handle it."
Karl raised his head and looked at Lillian, his eyes showing a tired but determined look. "Lillian, do you know? This ancient book may contain the secret to breaking through to a higher realm. I must find out."
Lillian sighed softly and placed the food on the table beside her. "I know you're obsessed with magic, but you should also take care of your health. If there's anything I can do to help, you must tell me."
Carl looked at Lillian gratefully. "Thank you, Lillian. These contents are too complicated at the moment. I need more knowledge to interpret them. I think I need to consult the elders of my family."
Carl brought the ancient book to find Elder Albert. When the elder saw the ancient book, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes.
“Karl, where did you find this ancient book? This is a treasure that has been passed down in our family for a long time, but no one has been able to understand it for a long time.” The elder said as he flipped through the ancient book.
"It's in the corner of the library, Elder. I think the content here is very important for us to break through the current difficulties." Carl said anxiously.
Elder Albert carefully studied the contents of the ancient book, his brow furrowed. "This is indeed very profound magical knowledge, Carl. We need more ancient books and materials to verify each other in order to better understand it."
With the help of his elders, Carl began searching for relevant information elsewhere in his family. In an abandoned warehouse, they discovered some ancient notebooks whose owner appeared to have studied similar magical theories. Some of the content in the notebooks provided Carl with new insights into the ancient texts.
As his research deepened, Carl gained some new understanding of the magic circles in the ancient books. He decided to try to cast one of the simpler magic circles in a safe place.
He arrived at a secluded valley behind his family's hillside, surrounded by towering peaks that formed a natural barrier. Standing in the center of the valley, Carl began to lay out a magic circle, following the instructions in the ancient text. He used his magic to carve runes into the ground, pouring immense amounts of his magical power and energy into each stroke.
As the magic circle neared completion, the surrounding magical elements began to grow restless. Suddenly, a group of magical creatures, drawn to the magic circle's ripples, appeared. These creatures resembled wild wolves, their fur gleaming with a faint blue light, their eyes burning with greed. They prowled the valley, emitting deep growls.
Carl frowned, knowing that if he couldn't complete the magic circle quickly, he would be in danger. He quickened his movements, and just as the last rune was carved, the magic circle erupted with a powerful light. This light was as dazzling as the sun, temporarily forcing back the surrounding magical creatures.
However, these magical creatures didn't give up. After the light faded slightly, they pounced on Carl again. Carl quickly cast a spell, waving his wand. A wall of fire rose before him, blocking the magical creatures' initial attack. But the wild wolf magical creatures were very clever. They began to disperse and charge at Carl from different directions.
Carl chanted a spell, and suddenly sharp earth spikes sprouted from the ground, piercing the approaching magical creatures. Some of the magical creatures were struck by the earth spikes, howling in pain. However, some of the magical creatures broke through the earth spikes' defense and pounced on Carl.
Carl responded calmly, casting the "Wind Blade" spell. Blades formed from the wind element flew towards the magical creatures, slicing them into pieces. However, there were too many magical creatures, and they kept pouring in, leaving Carl somewhat overwhelmed.
In the fierce battle, Carl was accidentally scratched on the arm by a magical creature. Blood flowed from the wound, but he did not flinch. He focused his mind, recalling the description of the magic circle in the ancient text. He realized that this magic circle was not just a defensive magic circle, but also had powerful offensive capabilities.
Carl poured his magic power into the magic circle, and it shone once more. This time, the light transformed into bolts of lightning, striking the surrounding magical creatures. Wherever the lightning struck, the magical creatures were instantly killed, their bodies reduced to ash by the intense heat of the lightning.
After a fierce battle, Carl finally defeated the magical creature. He sat exhausted on the ground, looking at the wound on his arm, his heart filled with awe for the ancient books. This battle made him more deeply aware of the power of the magical knowledge contained in the ancient books, but it also made him realize that he still had a long way to go.
In the days that followed, Carl continued his study of the ancient texts. He exchanged insights with other magicians in his family and explored the magical theories contained in the ancient texts. As they delved deeper into the texts, they gradually uncovered secrets hidden within them. These secrets involved the origins of his family and an ancient and powerful magical organization, which seemed to be connected to events in Carl's past life.
Carl knows that this mysterious ancient book is like a key, slowly opening the door to an unknown world. Having already embarked on this dangerous and challenging journey of exploration, he cannot turn back. He must unravel the mysteries within the ancient book, for this holds not only a stake in his own personal growth, but also the fate of his family and the safety of the entire magical world.
During this process, Carl also encountered some resistance from within his family. Some members of the family were dissatisfied with his monopoly of the ancient books and believed that he should share them with everyone. Some even tried to steal the books while Carl was not paying attention.
“Karl, you can’t be so selfish. This ancient book should belong to the family, and everyone has the right to study it.” A clan member named Morris stood in front of Karl and said angrily.
"Morris, you don't understand. This ancient book is not so easy to decipher. I have only just scratched the surface of it. Moreover, some of the magic in it may bring about huge disasters if it is cast casually by people who don't understand it." Carl explained patiently.
But Morris didn't listen to his explanation. He reached out and tried to snatch the ancient book from Carl's hand. Carl dodged sideways, his eyes turning cold: "Morris, don't force me to do it."
Tensions quickly mounted between the two, and a new conflict seemed inevitable. Just then, Elder Albert appeared, harshly reprimanding Morris and explaining to the other tribesmen the complexities and dangers of studying ancient texts. The elder's mediation temporarily calmed the situation, but Carl knew the dispute over the ancient texts would not end there.
