The Rebirth of the God of Law: The Lord of the God Realm
Chapter 47: Ancient Ruins Crisis
Monuments Crisis
In this crucial battle for the ancient tome, Carl and Victor were like two ferocious cheetahs, biting each other tightly, their hands tightly grasping the ancient tome, neither willing to give in. The surrounding battle also fell into extreme chaos, and the light of magic intertwined into a gorgeous and deadly web, enveloping the entire ruins.
Suddenly, a blindingly bright light burst forth from the magic circle at the core of the ruins, followed by a deep rumble like the roar of an ancient beast. The previously stable magic circle, like an enraged beast, began to tremble violently, its lines flickering as if in agony.
"Oh no! Our fight has triggered the magic circle." Carl was startled, his face pale. He briefly shifted his gaze from the ancient book to the chaotic magic circle, his eyes filled with worry.
"Everyone be careful! If this magic circle gets out of control, we'll all be doomed!" Carl shouted to his teammates, his voice a little distorted.
"What? This is truly a double whammy!" Tom shouted back, waving his wand to fend off the enemy's attacks, a wry smile on his face. "Dealing with these guys is already a headache enough, and now there's a magic circle to mess things up."
"Stop complaining and figure out a solution!" Lucy shouted, her eyes gleaming with fear, yet more so with determination. She cast a frost shield, temporarily blocking the enemy's attacks, then approached Carl. With a flick of her wand and a muttered incantation, a burst of freezing air erupted from its tip, instantly congealing into a crystalline wall of ice before them. The ice wall, two men tall and mirror-smooth, shone with a dazzling brilliance under the powerful light of the magic circle, resembling a gigantic work of art. However, this work of art possessed a deadly power. When the enemy's dark magic struck the ice wall, it sizzled and froze, its energies seemingly meeting their nemesis, leaving streaks of black across the surface.
At this moment, the magic circle's instability became increasingly apparent. Powerful energy fluctuations spread outward like a surging tide. Each wave was like an invisible hand, fiercely slapping everything around it. Cracks began to appear in the ancient walls under the impact of the energy, large blocks of stone tottered, and dust poured down from above like a waterfall.
"Karl, we have to do something!" Teacher Ivan cried anxiously. He tried to shake off Victor's men, but the enemy's attacks were so intense that he was overwhelmed. He plunged his wand into the ground and chanted an ancient, mysterious spell. In an instant, the ground began to shake violently. Rays of ochre light emerged from the ground, snaking like a giant python, sweeping towards the enemy. Wherever these rays of light passed, quicksand traps appeared beneath the enemy's feet. Victor's men were caught off guard and fell into them one after another. As they struggled, the quicksand quickly buried them, leaving only panicked cries.
Carl gritted his teeth. He knew he had to find a way to stabilize the magic circle quickly, otherwise everyone would perish. He concentrated his energy, trying to use his magic power to perceive the magic circle's operating rules and find a way to prevent it from losing control.
However, Victor paid no attention to any of this. His eyes were fixed solely on the ancient book. Seeing Carl's distraction, a sinister smile played on his lips. "Hmph, this is my chance," Victor muttered to himself. He increased his magical output, and a black wave of magic blasted towards Carl. It resembled a roaring black dragon, charging towards Carl with bared fangs and claws. The dragon burned with black flames, and wherever the flames touched, the air distorted and burned, emitting a pungent odor. At the same time, Victor tugged at the ancient book with all his might.
"Victor, you lunatic! Are you trying to kill us all?" Carl roared. He barely dodged Victor's attack, his body moving like lightning, instantly shifting several meters to the left. His movements were so swift that only a shadow remained, dissipating under the impact of the black magic wave. Carl narrowly avoided the fatal blow. However, due to his distraction, Victor pulled a small portion of the ancient book away.
"As long as I can get the ancient books, nothing else matters to me." Victor laughed grimly, his laughter sounding particularly harsh in this chaotic environment.
"You can't do this!" Seeing this, Lucy rushed towards Victor in anger, casting a powerful freezing spell in an attempt to freeze him. "Try my 'Super Ice Coffin' and I'll freeze you, you scoundrel, into a block of ice!" She raised her wand high, chanting the spell more and more rapidly as a powerful blue light erupted from the tip. The blue light transformed into countless sharp ice cones, which shot towards Victor like meteors. Each one exuded a biting chill, and as it flew, the surrounding moisture quickly condensed into frost, forming a series of white trails. The ice cones intertwined, forming a massive ice cage that enveloped Victor, as if to seal him forever in this cold cage.
Victor glanced at Lucy with disdain, easily neutralizing her attack. He waved his wand calmly, creating a circular black shield before him. Strange runes shimmered on it. As the ice cone struck the shield, there was a loud crackling sound, and the ice cone instantly shattered into countless shards, which flew everywhere. Under the powerful impact, these shards flew around like sharp blades, instantly slicing small rocks caught in the impact in half.
At this moment, the energy fluctuations of the magic circle became even more violent. A massive column of energy shot up into the sky, illuminating the entire ruins like daylight. Wherever the energy column passed, everything was destroyed. Dark magic and light magic alike seemed insignificant before this force. The energy column was like a sword of judgment emanating from the depths of the universe, gleaming with a destructive light and emitting a suffocating sense of oppression.
"Take cover!" Mr. Brown shouted. He cast earth magic, conjuring several massive stone slabs to partially shield everyone from the energy surge. But the slabs began to crack under the onslaught of the energy, threatening to collapse at any moment. Mr. Brown chanted incantations, veins bulging on his forehead as he struggled to maintain the slabs' magical power. His wand glowed an earthy-yellow light, connecting the slabs like silken threads, repairing the cracks. Each repair proved incredibly difficult, like patching a leaky boat in a raging storm.
Carl was terrified. He sensed a familiar aura within the magic circle's energy fluctuations, a sensation similar to the magical power found in ancient books. "Could the ancient books... possibly be connected to the magic circle in some way?" a thought flashed through Carl's mind.
He looked at the ancient book Victor was holding and decided to take a chance. "Victor, you must stop. The ancient book may be the key to controlling the magic circle!" Carl shouted at Victor.
"Humph, do you think I will believe you? You just want to trick me into letting go of the ancient book." Victor was unmoved and continued to intensify his efforts to fight for the ancient book.
"Everyone, attack Victor! We can't let him cause any more destruction!" Jerry shouted. He joined forces with the other students and launched a fierce attack on Victor. Jerry raised his wand high above his head, spinning it rapidly as he chanted a wind magic spell. As he chanted, the surrounding air quickly gathered, forming a massive tornado. The tornado was a turquoise-blue, with a howling wind within. Its powerful suction pulled in the surrounding debris and dust. At the center of the tornado, Jerry cast a lightning spell. Purple streaks of lightning shot through the tornado, like a snarling electric snake, making the entire tornado appear even more ferocious and terrifying.
The other students also unleashed their own specialties. Flames, wind blades, lightning, and other magic combined to form a powerful force, blasting towards Victor. The flames, like a raging sea of fire, were driven by the wind and swept towards Victor. Within the sea of fire, the flames burned even more fiercely, as if to reduce everything to ash. The wind blades, like countless transparent blades, whirled through the air at high speed, slicing through it with a sharp whistling sound. They intertwined with the flames, amplifying the power of the attack. Lightning danced and flickered within, each bolt leaving a charred crater in the ground, emitting acrid smoke.
Viktor felt threatened and was forced to divert some of his magic power to resist the onslaught. His black shield began to tremble violently under the powerful attack, and the runes on its surface flickered more frequently, as if groaning in pain. His face darkened, and a flash of panic flashed in his eyes, but it was quickly replaced by greed and madness.
Taking this opportunity, Carl cast a detection spell towards the ancient book, attempting to find the connection between the ancient book and the magic circle. As the detection spell was cast, a soft light appeared on the ancient book, and at the same time, the fluctuations of the magic circle seemed to temporarily ease.
"Sure enough! The ancient book and the magic circle are connected." Carl exclaimed in surprise, "We must put the ancient book back to its original place to prevent the magic circle from getting out of control."
"What are we waiting for? Let's go together and take the ancient tome from Victor!" Tom shouted, his eyes rekindled with fighting spirit. He waved his wand and cast another fire spell, this time even more fierce than before. Like a giant phoenix, it pounced on Victor. The phoenix spread its massive wings, each feather composed of flames, showering countless sparks in its flight, a beauty yet a danger.
Carl and his companions charged towards Victor once again, this time with a clearer goal: to reclaim the tome, save the ruins, and their own lives. Victor, caught between two enemies, refused to give up the tome. This battle was no longer just about the tome, but a matter of life and death.
