The Rebirth of the God of Law: The Lord of the God Realm
Chapter 14 The Discovery of the Library
Library Discovery
Sunlight filtered through the stained glass, casting a dazzling array of light and shadow across the halls of the college library. The library was filled with the unique scent of aged paper and magical ink, a scent that seemed to possess a magical power, enveloping anyone who entered in a mystical atmosphere of knowledge. Tall bookshelves, like ancient giants, stretched row after row, reaching into the distance until they vanished into the shadows. The shelves were filled with a vast array of books, from thin parchment scrolls to bound tomes so heavy they required two people to lift. Each one carried the crystallization of the wizarding world's wisdom.
Carl flitted between the bookshelves, his gaze like a sharp hawk, searching the spines. Today, he had a specific purpose in mind—to search for information related to the ancient tome in his family's collection. The secrets hidden within those ancient books had always lingered in his mind, especially the mystery surrounding realm breakthroughs, which, like a fog, he was eager to unravel.
"Carl, you are here again?" The librarian was a kind old lady. She sat in front of the huge information desk and greeted Carl with a smile.
"Yes, mother-in-law. I'm looking for some books that may be helpful to my research." Carl responded without stopping.
Deep within the library, Carl discovered several ancient-looking books on the bottom shelf of a dusty bookshelf. Gently brushing away the dust, he saw the designs and text on the covers, and a surge of delight washed over him. These designs bore subtle resemblances to symbols found in ancient family books, and the text itself seemed to evoke a familiar aura.
He eagerly flipped open one of the books, the yellowed pages rustling slightly in his hands. The contents of the book were obscure and difficult to understand, but Carl, relying on his research into ancient family books, was able to decipher some new clues.
"This paragraph... it mentions the special changes in magical elements during a realm breakthrough, which aligns with my previous speculation," Carl muttered to himself, his eyes gleaming with excitement. He pulled out his notebook and quickly wrote down the key information, fearing that this precious information would slip away from his mind.
As his research deepened, Carl increasingly sensed the depth and mystery of this new knowledge. These seemingly scattered clues seemed to weave a vast web, the center of which vaguely pointed to the World Barrier. He recalled the shock and confusion he felt while exploring the World Barrier in his previous life. Those surging magical fluctuations seemed inextricably linked to the method he was currently researching to break through the realm.
“If I can master that special magical fluctuation by breaking through the realm, maybe I can uncover the secret of the world barrier.” Carl thought in his heart, and his hands moved faster. He absorbed every word in the book eagerly.
In another area of the library, Carl continued searching for more clues. This area was more secluded, the light was dimmer, and the books on the shelves looked even older and more mysterious. Suddenly, he sensed a faint magical fluctuation coming from a hidden corner.
Carl followed the direction of the magical fluctuations and, at the end of the bookshelf, discovered a small space obscured by layers of dust and cobwebs. Within this space lay a sealed diary. The cover looked ordinary, but the magic sealing it was incredibly powerful. Carl could sense the warning contained within the seal, but his curiosity was piqued.
"What is this? Why is it sealed here?" Carl whispered. He reached out and tried to break the seal. However, the seal's power was beyond his imagination. When his magic power touched the seal, a powerful reaction force almost bounced him away.
"It seems we can't force it." Carl frowned and began to carefully examine the magical structure of the seal. It was a complex seal he had never seen before, composed of multiple magical elements interwoven together, each with a delicate balance between them.
After some effort, Carl finally found the weak point of the seal. He concentrated his magic power and carefully attacked that spot. With a faint flash of light, the seal began to loosen. Carl cast his magic again, slowly undoing the entire seal.
When he opened the diary, a stale smell hit him. The diary paper was a little worn, but the handwriting was still legible. Carl began to read the contents of the diary, and the more he read, the more shocked he was.
The author of the diary mentioned a powerful magician who lived ten thousand years ago and whose life was full of legends. In his pursuit of the pinnacle of magic, this magician encountered countless challenges and difficulties, some of which were strikingly similar to Carl's experiences in his previous life.
“He also encountered obstacles from the world barrier, and he seemed to have found some clues…” Carl’s heartbeat quickened involuntarily, his hands trembling slightly as he continued to read.
The diary describes the magician's unique realization upon reaching a new level: he discovered a magical power beyond common sense, a power that seemed connected to the very origins of the world. At the crucial moment of his breakthrough, he sensed the presence of a world barrier and realized it wasn't a simple barrier, but a mysterious boundary imbued with the laws of the universe.
"That's just what I thought! The World Barrier must be hiding a huge secret." Carl whispered excitedly.
The diary also hints at a key clue to the secret of World Wall - a mysterious place on the edge of the magical world, where there are ancient ruins and powerful guardian magic, which is said to hide the key to unlocking the secret of World Wall.
"Where is this mysterious place?" Carl frowned. He looked for more clues in the diary, but the author seemed to have deliberately hidden this key information, leaving only some vague descriptions.
Carl returned to his research area with the diary, his heart aching. He knew this discovery could change everything. He shared the diary's contents with several trusted classmates and teachers, hoping they could solve the mystery together.
"Carl, this is amazing! If this is all true, then we may be uncovering one of the biggest secrets of the wizarding world." A teacher said excitedly.
"But there are so few clues to this mysterious place. How can we find it?" a classmate asked.
Everyone fell into deep thought. Carl looked at the diary, and various possibilities kept emerging in his mind.
"We can start with some of the surrounding environmental features mentioned in the diary. For example, the author mentioned that there is a special magical plant nearby. We can look for information from this aspect." Carl suggested.
So, they began searching the library for books on special magical plants. After a long search, they found several relevant books. These books contained detailed records of various magical plants, including their growing environments, appearance characteristics, and magical properties.
"Found it! This plant only grows in places with a strong source of magic power, and the surrounding temperature is extremely low." A classmate shouted excitedly.
"Then we can use this clue to search for places that meet the requirements in the college's geographical information," said Carl.
They began searching for geographical information in another section of the library. After looking through a large number of books, they came up with a list of possible locations.
"This valley looks suspicious. It's located in the far north, and there are records of magical fluctuations around it. It is also said that many rare magical plants grow there." Carl said, pointing to a place on the map.
"But this valley is shrouded in a powerful magical barrier, and few people can enter." A teacher said as he looked at the information.
"We have to find a way to break through this barrier, or find a way to get in," Carl said firmly.
In the following days, Carl and his companions continued to study other clues in the diary while looking for a way to break through the valley's barrier. They found some books on breaking magic barriers in the library, but these methods required extremely high magic power and complex magic rituals.
"We need to improve our strength to have a chance to break the barrier." Carl realized.
On the training grounds, Carl trained harder than ever. He constantly challenged his limits, trying new magical techniques and combinations. At the same time, he never forgot to study the library's materials, often heading straight to the library after training.
By chance, Carl found a book about ancient magic rituals in a mezzanine of the library. The book recorded a ritual that could temporarily weaken the magic barrier, but it required specific magic items and precise time calculation.
"This might be our chance!" Carl ran excitedly to find his friends with the book.
Following the instructions in the book, they began to prepare the magical items needed for the ritual. Some of these items were extremely rare and could only be obtained from the academy's treasury or through special quests. Carl and his companions traveled extensively in search of these items.
During their search, they encountered many difficulties and challenges. Some items were guarded by powerful magical creatures, while others were hidden in dangerous magical mazes. But Carl and his companions refused to give up. With their wisdom and courage, they overcame every obstacle.
Finally, they gathered all the magic items, and on a certain full-moon night, they came to the valley to prepare for the ceremony.
"Are you all ready? This ritual is very dangerous, we must be careful." Carl looked at his companions, his eyes full of determination and worry.
"We're ready!" the companions answered in unison.
They followed the steps of the ritual, placed the magic items in a specific location, and began to chant the ancient spell. As the spell was chanted, the surrounding magic power began to gather, and a strange light appeared in the sky.
Suddenly, a powerful magical wave came from the valley, as if the barrier was resisting.
"Hold on! We can't let this happen." Carl shouted.
They increased their magical output to counter the barrier's resistance. During the fierce confrontation, the barrier began to loosen slightly.
"Now! Let's rush in!" Carl seized the opportunity and led his companions into the valley.
The moment they passed through the barrier, a powerful chill washed over them. A thick fog filled the valley, making visibility extremely low. Around them grew a variety of strange magical plants, emitting a faint glow that illuminated a small area around them.
"This is the place we are looking for. Everyone be careful, there may be unknown dangers here." Carl warned.
They cautiously advanced through the valley, searching for the ancient ruins mentioned in the diary. Deep within the valley, they discovered a massive stone gate. Carved with ancient magical runes, these runes emanated powerful magical fluctuations.
"This should be the entrance to the ruins, but these runes look difficult to decipher." said a classmate.
Carl walked forward and carefully observed the runes on the stone door. He found that these runes were similar to some ancient magic circles he had studied in the library before.
"I think I can open it, but it's going to take some time," Carl said.
He began to cast magic, trying to decipher the runes on the stone gate. As he did so, the magical fluctuations around the stone gate grew stronger, as if warning them not to get any closer. But Carl didn't flinch; he concentrated on deciphering the runes.
After a long time of effort, the stone door finally slowly opened. A powerful magical power surged out from the door, accompanied by a dazzling light.
"Let's go in, the answer may be inside." Carl took a deep breath and led his companions into the stone gate.
Inside the door was a vast hall, with a massive magic circle in its center. A brilliant light shone from the magic circle, seemingly holding countless secrets. Around the magic circle lay ancient magical artifacts and books.
"There must be something we want here." Carl said excitedly.
They began to explore the temple, searching for clues to the secrets of the World Wall. Every book they opened, every magical item they picked up, could be the key to unlocking the mystery. Carl knew they were getting closer and closer to the truth, a truth that would change the fate of the entire magical world.
