Coming to the StarCraft to Be a Kindergarten Teacher: Perfect Transformation
Chapter 83 A new day
"Sui Sui, what's wrong with you? It's like a dog is chasing you." Seeing me running in breathlessly, Lotta took the things in my hand and helped me sit on the chair in the classroom. After sitting on the chair for a while, I finally stopped breathing heavily.
"Lotta, you left last night, and I washed up and lay in bed. While lying there, I wanted to eat fried dough sticks, so I got up and made some dough. I got up early this morning to make breakfast, and then I made some more and brought it to the kindergarten for you. Where are Lei and the others?" After saying that, I picked up the bag that Lotta had placed on the table and opened it to show her.
"Sui Sui, what are youtiao?" Lotta asked. "Youtiao is a fried food. It's usually made by kneading flour into a dough, stretching it into long strips, and then deep-frying it in oil. It's golden and crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and has a delicious, crispy texture. In Country Z, youtiao is a very popular traditional breakfast, enjoyed with soy milk, porridge, and other foods," I explained.
"So that's how it is. It must be delicious!" Lotta said with shining eyes.
"Of course it's delicious! I even made some extra and prepared to share it with everyone." I said with a smile.
I pulled out my laptop, opened Youyou, the Empire's universal chat app, found Lei's profile picture, and sent a message: "Wait a moment, I'll be there soon!" I kneaded extra dough last night just so I could make delicious fried dough sticks for everyone to try today. As I thought about this, I quickened my pace toward the rest area.
"They're in the rest area out back. Go over there," Lotta said, pointing back. She also told me the children were inside, and she had to stay behind to look after them. If that greedy little Bailey found out about the delicious food, I'd probably be unable to bring it over.
I smiled and nodded, then walked towards the rest area with the dough sticks in my hand. When I entered the rest area, Lei and several other social workers were sitting together chatting. When they saw the large bag of dough sticks in my hand, their faces immediately showed surprise.
"Wow, what is this? It looks so tempting!" Lei looked at the bag in my hand with shining eyes and asked curiously.
"These are fried dough sticks, a traditional delicacy from Country Z," I explained with a smile, opening the bag. A burst of aroma filled my nostrils. "I brought them here especially for you to try."
I took out a fried dough stick and handed it to Lei. She took it carefully, took a bite, and immediately showed a satisfied expression on her face: "Mm, it's really delicious! Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, crispy texture, and very fragrant."
Other teachers were also attracted and took the fried dough sticks to taste them. Everyone gave a thumbs up to express their appreciation.
"Thank you, Sui Sui. This is such a special gift." Lei said gratefully, with a sincere light in her eyes.
"You're welcome, we're all good friends." I smiled happily, feeling incredibly warm inside. It felt so good to be able to share my hometown's delicacies with my friends and let them experience the charm of a different culture.
Seeing them eating with gusto, I stood up and prepared to leave. "Sui Sui, go ahead! We're worried about Luota looking after the kids alone. But thank you for the fried dough sticks anyway," Lei said with a smile.
I gently pushed open the classroom door and immediately saw Lotta squatting on the floor, happily playing games with the children. The morning sun streamed through the bright windows, softly illuminating the children's innocent faces. The whole scene seemed remarkably peaceful and beautiful. I carefully opened my laptop to capture this heartwarming moment. I waited until their games were over before I slowly entered the classroom.
"Teacher Sui Sui, why are you here so late today?" a child asked curiously.
Another child immediately said, "Teacher Sui Sui, we all miss you so much!"
Another child also shouted: "Teacher Sui Sui..."
Looking at the innocent and lovely little faces of the children, I couldn't help but smile with relief.
Seeing the children gathered around me, Maggie and Bailey hugging my legs, my heart was like being illuminated by the warm sunshine, filled with happiness and satisfaction. This feeling is more fulfilling and enjoyable than eating a few bowls of rice noodles.
"The teacher went to the rest area to look for Lei and the others, so you didn't see me just now. What fun games were you playing just now? I was watching from outside and it was so fun!" I asked with a smile.
"Teacher Sui Sui, let me tell you, we were just playing "The Elephant Without a Trunk". It was so much fun. Come play with us next time!" Maggie said excitedly, with a happy glint in her eyes.
"Okay, little Maggie, Teacher Su Su will play with you next time. Now we will listen to Teacher Lotta." I responded with a smile.
"Okay, Teacher Sui Sui," Maggie nodded obediently, then made a funny expression that made me laugh. Her innocence always brings me endless joy and surprises.
"Okay, kids, let's go have breakfast!" As soon as Lotta finished speaking, all the children lined up in an orderly manner and walked towards the restaurant. The children sat at the table, waiting for breakfast to arrive.
As the aroma filled the air, breakfast was finally ready. Vaughn and the older children hurried to the kitchen to prepare the delicious food. The children excitedly gathered around the dining table, eagerly awaiting the sumptuous breakfast.
When the last breakfast was placed on the table, Lotta and I exchanged a silent glance, and then we gently placed the golden, crispy dough sticks on Aunt Ola and Adam's plates. Their eyes gleamed with anticipation, as if filled with curiosity about these unfamiliar foods.
"What is this?" Aunt Ola asked puzzledly, pointing at the fried dough sticks on the plate.
I smiled and explained, “This is fried dough sticks, a special delicacy from Earth.”
Aunt Ola and Adam carefully picked up the dough sticks and took a bite. Instantly, satisfied smiles appeared on their faces, and their eyes sparkled with surprise.
"Wow, it's delicious!" Aunt Ola exclaimed.
"Yeah, it tastes very special." Adam agreed.
Watching them enjoy the food, a warm joy welled up in my heart.
"Earth? What kind of place is that?" Aunt Aura asked curiously.
So, I enthusiastically began to tell her stories about Earth, describing its rich and diverse food culture, unique natural scenery, and long history and traditions. Aunt Aura listened quietly, as if immersed in a distant and mysterious world.
I have to say, our children's dining etiquette was truly excellent. Even Bailey, a big foodie, only glanced twice at the new treats without making any inappropriate gestures. However, as a teacher, I was keenly aware of the anticipation in their eyes. After all the children had finished their breakfast, cleared their plates, and rinsed their mouths, Lotta and I led the children to the lawn for a rest.
"Teacher Sui Sui, what did you eat just now? It tasted so good!" As expected, Belle was able to hold back until now before asking, which was already her limit.
"That's called fried dough sticks. I have taught Aunt Ola how to make it, so tomorrow morning your breakfast will be delicious fried dough sticks. Are you happy?" I answered Belle's question with a smile.
"Wow! That's great! We can finally taste fried dough sticks. I hope tomorrow comes soon!" Hearing Belle's words, Lotta and I couldn't help but smile at each other.
