The red apples were fragrant, but my mouth was a little dry after a busy morning.

Lin wiped it on his sleeve and took a bite. The sour and sweet taste spread in his mouth.

Cui Zhaozhao also started to eat it. It was not as sweet as she had imagined, but the fruit that had not been sprayed with pesticides had a unique flavor.

There were no fruit trees in Xiahe Village, so the mother and daughter were very considerate and ate all the fruit.

Lin sighed, "It's really good. I haven't eaten it in a long time."

Speaking of this, the woman was quite proud: "These apple trees were originally planted in the field. We kept them for our own consumption and had no intention of selling them. But guess what happened?"

Lin shook his head.

"All the crops died of drought, but these trees bore fruit. Later, the county magistrate sent people to look for a well, and they dug one right next to the trees."

The woman spoke with great joy.

There was no hope for a harvest from the fields, so these apple trees became a source of income for the family.

Lin said: "There is always a way out, your family is blessed."

"That's what the villagers say too," the woman said, grinning. "It's just that not many people buy it. I can only make a few coins a trip, but it's better than nothing."

A dozen copper coins could fill a family's stomachs half full. There were families in the village who couldn't even afford to eat. In comparison, they were considered to be living a good life.

The woman was very open-minded.

Lin was infected by her smile and was an optimist.

"What's the price of apples? I want to buy some for my kids."

The woman waved her hand and said, "No money required, just take a few if you want to eat."

"I have a big family, and a few more won't be enough." Lin insisted.

"How about this." The woman glanced at the bamboo tube and swallowed, "I'll trade you an apple for this little dish."

Lin laughed. He didn't expect that he didn't make money from the first business, but he earned apples.

"It's my first day setting up the stall, and you're my first customer. I'll give you a discount, just five cents."

Lin's original price was ten cents.

"Good good."

The woman skillfully picked out thirty apples, and the basket was empty in an instant. Lin simply took out two cents and bought all the remaining apples.

When all the apples were sold out, the woman happily packed up her stall and went home, holding the bamboo tube.

When the stall is set up, it always attracts curious people to stop.

"What is this bamboo tube selling?"

Cui Zhaozhao skillfully picked out the samples for tasting and gave one to anyone who asked.

"This is our homemade pickle. It doesn't matter whether you buy it or not. Just try it."

The sour, sweet and spicy taste of seaweed is very novel, and coupled with the crispy texture, I believe everyone who has eaten it will fall in love with it, so Cui Zhaozhao promoted it very hard and gave out samples quite generously.

Unfortunately, reality is very disappointing.

A lot of samples were given away, but no one was willing to pay for them.

There was even a woman who finished her meal without expressing her opinion. She walked away and secretly sent her grandson to ask for another sample.

If Cui Zhaozhao hadn't had sharp eyes and noticed the old woman hiding stealthily not far away, she would have been almost deceived.

"Mom, are we being taken advantage of?"

She even suspected that those who had tried the food had called other people in the family to come and eat for free.

Several people take turns to get it, and then they come back together and have an extra dish for lunch.

While we were talking, a few more people came to ask for a sample, and one of them took it and ran away quickly.

What did she say!

Cui Zhaozhao's frustration was visibly evident to the naked eye.

Lin looked at the customers in front of the stall and said slowly, "No rush."
