After a brief bustle in the threshing ground, everyone quickly got down to work.

Lin went home to get the seaweed she had prepared the day before.

"Mom, I want to go to the city with you."

Cui Zhaozhao thought for a moment, took out some loose silver from the cabinet, and followed Lin into the city.

When the mother and daughter arrived at the West Market, the sun was already high in the sky and some vendors were packing up their stalls and preparing to go home.

But the market is still crowded with people and the sounds of hawking are endless.

Cui Zhaozhao found an empty stall. The previous vendor was selling vegetables grown by himself. The juicy vegetables were sold out one after another as soon as they were put on display. Now the vendor had happily left with his shoulder pole.

A mother and daughter occupied the empty stall.

Lin took out a piece of earth-blue coarse cloth, spread it on the ground, and pressed down the four corners with stones.

The emerald green bamboo tube was placed on the cloth, and at first glance it was impossible to tell what was being sold.

This was a trial operation, so Lin didn't bring too much seaweed. He only brought ten thin bamboo tubes, each containing only half a pound of seaweed.

After setting up their things, the mother and daughter looked at the layout of the market.

There are two entrances to Xishi, the East Gate and the North Gate. They are located near the East Gate, and outside the East Gate is the residential area of the county town.

The original owner's breakfast stall was located in a residential area, so he was familiar with the area and often came here to buy vegetables.

People came in from the east gate, bought vegetables for daily use and then returned home without having to go further inside, so the area around Lin's house was basically full of vendors selling vegetables and meat.

The stall next to Lin's was selling fruit. The apples in the basket in front of the woman were spotted, of different sizes, and looked very bad.

But this is one of the few fruits that can be eaten.

The woman selling apples glanced at Lin's mother and daughter and thought that she had never seen them before and that they must have just arrived to set up a stall.

"What are you selling?"

The woman looked over curiously.

The apples in my own garden were eaten by insects and the fruits were not big. I set up the stall for a few days but no one bought them, so I simply didn't have the heart to buy them.

Instead, I am more interested in the bamboo tube.

The bamboo tube was cut very neatly and covered with a lid woven from leaves. She couldn't imagine what was inside.

I heard there’s a snack made by steaming glutinous rice in a bamboo tube, but the new rice hasn’t come in yet, and the price of old rice is sky-high.

Lin smiled and took out another thick bamboo tube from the basket, which also contained seaweed. She picked up a piece of seaweed with chopsticks, placed it on the washed leaves, and handed it to the woman next to her.

"Try some of the homemade dishes."

The woman was flattered, rubbed her hands, and carefully took the leaf.

The leaves were trimmed into oval shapes and Lin had already cleaned them at home in advance. They were specially used to hold tasting samples, while the seaweed in the thick bamboo tubes was for guests to taste.

The seaweed on the leaves was covered with soup, which dripped down the edge of the leaves and flowed onto the woman's wrist. The woman subconsciously took a sip of the soup.

My eyes widened as soon as I took a sip of the soup.

The salty, sour, sweet and spicy flavors intertwined in the mouth are truly wonderful.

"Gudong-"

The woman swallowed her saliva and put the seaweed on the leaves into her mouth. As she chewed, her eyes gradually lit up.

"Hiss, big sister, this side dish of yours is so delicious."

Just one bite had her appetite whetted. The woman smacked her lips, wishing she could have a few more bites, but this was food that someone else was going to sell for money.

Being greedy and wanting to eat, I could only grab an apple from the basket and take a few big bites.

He threw two apples to Lin.

"Big sister, you should try some too. These are apples grown at home."
