Legacy: Miracle
Chapter 4: River Dilemma
Yun Yi stood before the surging river. The water rushed unchecked like a wild horse, emitting a deafening roar, like nature's most primal roar. His gaze was fixed on the churning water, and an indescribable fear surged in his heart, as piercing as ice, making him shiver uncontrollably.
"This river... is too fierce," Yun Yi muttered, his voice shattered by the wind. He knew this river was his only path to the divine ruins, the only obstacle he had to cross in pursuit of his parents' wishes. No matter how difficult, no matter how dangerous, he had to wade through it, he had to overcome this turbulent river.
He took a deep breath, as if drawing courage and strength from the heavens and earth. He tightened the bag around his waist; it was his only support, holding all his hopes and dreams. Then, he stepped cautiously into the river, each step like treading on the edge of a knife. The icy cold water instantly soaked his clothes, the chill penetrating his heart, making him shiver uncontrollably.
He gritted his teeth, steadied himself, and moved step by step toward the other side of the river. However, the force of the river was far greater than he had imagined. A huge wave hit him, and he suddenly lost his balance, as if being suddenly grabbed by an invisible hand, and was instantly swept into the river.
In the water, Yun Yi felt like a helpless fallen leaf, tossed by the waves, bobbing up and down, swaying from side to side. He struggled desperately, flailing his arms wildly, trying to grab onto something to steady himself. But the current was too turbulent, and he couldn't find anything to hold onto. He could only let himself be carried away by the current.
Fear and despair began to spread within him, like a poisonous snake in the darkness, tightly coiling around his heart, making it almost impossible for him to breathe. He felt as if he were about to be swallowed by the river, buried forever by its surging waters.
"No! I can't give up like this!" Yun Yi cried in his heart, his eyes flashing with a hint of stubbornness and unwillingness. At this brink of life and death, his parents suddenly appeared in his mind. They stood by the river bank, looking at him with gentle yet firm eyes, as if telling him: "Son, don't give up! Face the difficulties bravely and fight hard to survive!"
This image was like a flash of lightning, piercing the darkness in his heart and inspiring the courage and strength deep within him. He gritted his teeth, used all his strength, and began to struggle. He waved his arms, trying to grab stones or branches in the river, and each attempt seemed like a fight against death.
Finally, under the impact of a huge wave, he managed to grab a protruding rock. The rock was cold and hard, but it seemed like his only support in life. He clung to the rock tightly, as if he was holding on to the hope of life, as if he was holding on to the expectations and teachings of his parents.
The river surged as loudly as ever, threatening to swallow him and the stone along with it. But Yun Yi had found his footing, using the stone's strength to push himself closer to the other side. Each step was incredibly difficult, like a race against death, but he never gave up, never wavered.
His heart was filled with a desire for life, a desire to inherit his parents' spirit, and a firm belief in the future. He knew that only by persevering, only by overcoming the turbulent river, could he continue to move forward, find the relics of God, and fulfill his parents' wishes.
Finally, after an unknown amount of time, Yun Yi struggled to reach the other side of the river. He collapsed to the ground, gasping for air as if trying to suck all the air into his lungs. His clothes had long been ripped by the river, and his body was covered in wounds, but his eyes gleamed with the relief and joy of having survived.
He looked back at the surging river, and an indescribable feeling welled up in his heart. He knew that the river had not only tested his courage and perseverance, but also made him deeply appreciate the greatness and strength of his parents' spirit. He seemed to hear his parents whispering in his ear: "Son, you've done well. Remember, no matter what difficulties you encounter, you must face them bravely and persevere."
Yun Yi smiled faintly, his heart filled with warmth and strength. He knew that he was no longer the cowardly and incompetent boy, but a true warrior, a warrior who could bravely face and overcome difficulties.
"Mom and Dad, I will keep working hard. I will definitely find the remains of God and fulfill your last wish." Yun Yi silently made a vow in his heart, then stood up, tidied his clothes, and set out on the road again.
"Whoosh—whoosh—" The sound of the wind whistled past his ears, as if cheering him on. Yun Yi took a deep breath, feeling the gifts and bounty of nature. He knew that there were more challenges and difficulties waiting for him ahead, but he was ready, ready to face everything.
"Come on! No matter what the difficulties, I won't be afraid anymore!" Yun Yi shouted loudly, his voice echoing endlessly in the valley. He seemed to have seen the dawn of the future, the outline of the ruins of God looming in the distance. He knew that he was getting closer and closer to his goal...
"Yun Yi! You must hold on!" A familiar voice suddenly rang in his ears, interrupting Yun Yi's thoughts. He turned around abruptly, only to find that there was no one around, only the sound of the wind whistling past his ears.
"Is that... is that Mom and Dad's voice?" Yun Yi muttered to himself, a warm feeling welling up in his heart. He knew it must be the blessing and encouragement from his parents' spirits in heaven. He smiled faintly and set out on his journey again, his heart filled with endless courage and strength.
