Chapter 60: Valeera who doesn't obey the rules!
Although it was a warm morning, the scene inside the castle made Alvin feel cold.
The tall stone walls were covered with moss, and the air was filled with a smell of decay. The guards around had grim expressions, and there were traces of blood on the weapons in their hands.
They passed through a long corridor, from which they could hear the cries of prisoners and the sounds of whipping.
Alvin's heart tightened, he knew this was definitely not a relaxing place.
"You go to the castle first, I'll go set the fire, and I'll come back to find you when the fire starts."
Valeera's voice rang in his ears. Alvin nodded and said to himself, "Be safe. I'll go find Mylox."
"Here we are."
At this time, Old Jack turned around and whispered.
Their carriage was parked by the door on the side of the castle, and inside the door was the warehouse. The two men jumped off the carriage and began to unload the vegetables from the carriage and carry them into the warehouse.
While Alvin was busy, he observed the surrounding environment, looking for an opportunity to sneak into the prison.
Suddenly, a guard came over and said impatiently: "Hurry up and don't dawdle here."
At this moment, Valeera had already quietly sneaked into the prison outside the castle, her movements as swift as the wind.
Torches were soon lit in several hidden corners, quickly igniting the piles of hay and wood.
The fire spread rapidly, thick smoke billowed, and soon the entire prison was engulfed in flames.
"Fire! Fire!" a sharp-eyed guard shouted loudly.
The guards in the castle rushed to the scene upon hearing the news and joined in the firefighting. The flames lit up half the sky red. The shouts of the guards and the wails of the prisoners mixed together, and the entire castle fell into chaos.
"It's on fire! Come and put it out!"
The guards around were shouting one after another. When the guards on Alvin's side heard it, they also put down their work and rushed to the place where the fire was spreading to put out the fire.
Alvin was delighted, this was the best time for him to act.
He took advantage of everyone's inattention and quickly slipped into the castle.
Alvin advanced cautiously, trying to avoid the patrolling guards. His heartbeat raced, and the sounds of flames and guards shouting filled his ears.
He walked through the corridors of the castle, looking for the cell where Mylox was imprisoned.
He passed through several rooms but found no trace of the red-haired elf.
Every time he opened the door, his heart was filled with hope, but every time he returned disappointed, his anxiety continued to increase.
Alvin came to a dark corridor. It was silent all around, with only the sound of burning flames coming from the distance.
He was already getting anxious. Time was running out and he had to find Malocks as soon as possible.
At the end of the corridor, Alvin accidentally discovered a staircase leading to the underground. He had an idea and decided to go down and take a look.
The stairs were narrow and steep, and the air was filled with a smell of dampness and decay.
Every step made a dull echo, as if telling of the horror here.
Alvin walked down the stairs and the sight before him made him gasp.
The underground cell was dark and damp, with moss and mold covering the walls. The iron bars were rusty, and the air was filled with a foul smell. A dim oil lamp seemed ready to go out at any moment.
Suddenly, he heard a faint groan. Alvin's heart trembled and he quickly followed the sound.
He pushed open a heavy iron door and saw a red-haired elf man locked in a small cell, his body covered with scars.
"Malox!" Alvin whispered, quickly stepping forward to untie him.
Malocks raised his head with great effort and looked at the newcomer with his chaotic eyes.
"Who are you? How did you find me?"
"I'm here to save you. Let's get out of here first." Alvin quickly untied Maloxus and whispered.
But Maloxus was tortured to the point of being on the verge of death and unable to move at all.
He quickly cast a powerful healing spell, and warm light enveloped Maloxus' body. His wounds gradually healed and his breathing became steady.
However, the long period of hunger and torture made Mylox still too weak to stand.
"I'll help you. We have to leave here quickly." Alvin whispered, holding up Mylox and walking towards the exit.
Now with Alvin and the disabled Maelos, it is even more difficult to avoid the eyes of the guards.
Just as they were about to leave the prison, a guard suddenly appeared from around the corner and discovered their tracks.
After a brief moment of surprise, the guard shouted, drew his weapon and rushed forward.
Alvin's heart tightened, knowing that he and Malocks were in no condition to cope with it, so he wanted to choose "Holy Nova" in his mind.
Suddenly a dark figure emerged from the shadows.
Valeera's figure appeared behind the guard almost instantly, and the dagger drew a cold light in the air and pierced the guard's throat accurately.
The guard fell to the ground powerlessly without even a scream, blood gushing out.
The elf thief's movements were clean and neat, like a cheetah catching its prey. Her eyes were cold and focused, without a trace of hesitation.
Alvin watched this scene with shock and admiration in his heart.
"Send Mylox out!"
Valeera looked at the tortured and dying Mylox, suppressed her anger and said coldly: "I'm going to find Blackmoore, but this villain!"
Alvin quickly dissuaded her: "Valila, now is not the time for revenge. We must first ensure the safety of Mylox."
"No! I must kill him! He must pay for his evil deeds!" Valeera's attitude was quite resolute.
Alvin saw Valeera's determined eyes and groaned inwardly.
This Valeera is so stubborn! Once she decides on something, it's hard for others to change her mind.
At this moment, her eyes were full of anger, like an enraged beast, vowing to avenge her friends.
"Valeera, listen to me. Our top priority right now is to ensure the safety of Mylox." Alvin was still trying to persuade the stubborn elven thief: "There will be plenty of opportunities to deal with Blackmoore in the future, but for now we must preserve our strength!"
"No! I can't let him go! Blackmoore must die! And you have no right to order me around!"
Valeera's eyes remained cold, her voice low and firm.
Alvin knew that it was pointless to continue arguing, so he could only nod helplessly.
"Okay, but you have to be careful."
Valeera said nothing more, turned and disappeared into the shadows.
Alvin looked at her departing back, feeling angry and helpless. He wished he could knock Valeera unconscious with a stick and carry her away.
They came to the outside of the castle, and Alvin helped Malox onto Old Jack's carriage and covered his figure with miscellaneous items.
Old Jack was surprised when he saw this scene, but he didn't ask any questions and drove away quickly at Alvin's instruction.
Alvin stayed. He didn't know whether he had made a wrong decision. When he watched Old Jack's carriage go away, he felt relieved, but he knew that things were not over yet.
"Damn Valeera! But we can't let her die here!"
Alvin turned and went back to the castle, his figure quickly disappearing into the darkness.
