The Legend of Cinderella's Counterattack

"Don't waste your energy. Be good and we can still give you a chance to live." My stepsister squatted down and grabbed my chin, her tone full of threats. I was roughly pulled up from the ground and pushed into the gloomy factory.

The warehouse was dark and damp, and the air was filled with mold and dust, which almost suffocated me. My hands and feet were tied, and my mouth was sealed, so I could only make whimpering sounds.

"Tie her to the pillar over there." My stepmother pointed to a concrete pillar deep in the warehouse, her tone so cold that it made me shudder.

I was tied to the pillar, unable to move. My stepmother took out a document from her bag and threw it in front of me.

"Sign it, and we can consider giving you a chance to live."

I strained to turn my head and look at the document, vaguely able to make out the words "Property Renunciation Agreement." My heart sank. They were going to force me out of the house!

I shook my head desperately, a hoarse sound of refusal coming out of my throat. My stepmother sneered and gestured to my stepsister to take action.

"If you don't eat the toast, you will be punished with alcohol!"

My face burned, my ears buzzed. I closed my eyes helplessly, tears streaming down my cheeks. Was I really going to lose everything? My child, my career, my love...

In despair, Lawrence Lu’s face appeared in my mind. His warm smile, his determined eyes, his gentle hug…

"Yuxuan..." I silently repeated his name in my heart, and my tears flowed even more violently.

I regretted that I should have told him the truth earlier and let him face it with me. I was more worried about his safety. Would he be in pain because of my disappearance?

Will he find me?

Just when I was about to give up hope, the door of the warehouse suddenly burst open. Dazzling light shone in, and I squinted my eyes and saw a familiar figure.

"Sir, you can't go in!"

"Lolo!"

It’s Lawrence Lu! How did he find this place? Hope suddenly ignited in me, and I struggled desperately.

Lawrence Lu pushed aside the bodyguards who were blocking his way and strode towards me. He scanned my body with anxious eyes, and when he saw the scars on my face, a trace of heartache and anger flashed in his eyes.

"Lolo, how are you? Did they hurt you?"

His voice was trembling, and my nose felt sore and tears welled up again. I shook my head desperately, wanting to tell him that I was fine and that he shouldn't worry.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here to save you." Lawrence Lu gently stroked my cheek, his eyes firm and powerful, as if to inject me with a strong courage.

He protected me behind him, like an angry lion, his eyes coldly sweeping over my stepmother and stepsister, "How dare you treat her like this! I will make you pay!"

The stepmother pretended to be surprised, "Yuxuan, what are you talking about? I just want to have a good talk with her. She is the one who doesn't know what's good for her!"

"Talk? That's how you talk?" Lawrence Lu pointed at the wound on my face and was furious. "I will make you pay for what you did!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the bodyguards behind him rushed forward and surrounded his stepmother and stepsister. They obviously didn’t expect Lawrence Lu to appear suddenly, and so strong. They panicked for a moment and could only watch themselves being controlled.

Lawrence Lu took my hand and walked out of the warehouse quickly. I looked back and saw that the warehouse was in a mess. The curses of my stepmother and stepsister were far behind me, and my heart finally calmed down.

"It's okay, Luoluo, everything is over." He hugged me tightly, as if he wanted to rub me into his body. I greedily breathed in his scent and felt his warmth. At this moment, I felt that I was the happiest person in the world.

Suddenly, I felt a chill on my neck, and the familiar necklace was gone!

"My necklace!" I exclaimed. It was the token of love that Lawrence Lu gave me. It was the thing I treasured most. How could it be gone?

Lawrence Lu also realized the seriousness of the matter, his face sank, “Don’t worry, we’ll go back and look for it.”

We returned to the warehouse and searched every corner carefully, but the necklace seemed to have vanished without a trace. My heart sank deeper and deeper. Could it be that I had lost it?

I leaned weakly in Lawrence Lu's arms, my heart in turmoil. Lawrence Lu gave me that necklace on our first anniversary. He said it was a relic of his grandmother and he hoped I would wear it forever.

“Don’t worry, we will find it.” Lawrence Lu stroked my hair gently with a firm tone.

We searched almost the entire warehouse but still couldn't find the necklace. Just when we were about to give up, I suddenly noticed that a floor tile in the corner of the warehouse seemed to be loose.

"Yuxuan, look there!" I pointed at the floor tile, and a glimmer of hope rose in my heart.

Lawrence Lu walked over and moved the floor tile with force. The floor tile made a dull sound and slowly moved away, revealing a dark hole.

"What is this?" I covered my mouth in surprise. A cool air rushed out of the cave, carrying a smell of dampness and decay.

"Just go down and take a look and you'll know." Lu Yuxuan said, took out a flashlight from the car, and jumped down first.

I took a deep breath and jumped in. The cave entrance was deeper than I thought. We walked down the narrow passage. The flashlight could only illuminate a small area in front of us. The surroundings were pitch black and terrifyingly silent.

After an unknown amount of time, the passage finally reached its end. Before us stood a heavy iron door, covered in rust. It was obvious that no one had opened it in years.

Lawrence Lu tried pushing the iron door, but it didn't budge. "Looks like I'll need to put in some effort," he said, pulling out a knife from his waist and starting to pry the door lock.

The door lock clicked open with a click. The iron door slowly opened, and a cloud of dust blew in my face, making me cough a few times.

The flashlight beam shone into the room and I was stunned.
