Fall in love with summer flamingos

Chapter 23 Confrontation between father and son

When Gu Shiye woke up, the sun had already set. He opened his eyes slightly and looked to the side. Gu Shiye was gone. He looked at his phone and saw it was 6:05. There was also a WeChat message from Su Yangxia.

It was a picture of tomato noodles with the caption "Ms. Yang's exclusive secret recipe tomato noodles" which tasted better than mine, and a smirking expression.

"It looks delicious, let me try it when I have a chance." After Gu Shiye replied, he sent him another message.

"I'll send you a photo tonight of my Border Collie, very handsome."

"Okay," Su Yangxia added a classic grinning expression.

Then he got up and went downstairs with his phone. When he was about to go downstairs, he saw his father sitting on the sofa watching TV. He straightened his back and walked over to him. He stood beside him with his fingers curled up and picked up a faint smile.

"Dad, you're back"

Gu Haiyang didn't look at him, just responded "Yeah" and continued watching TV. There was no expression on his face. He stood beside him a little awkwardly. The TV next to him was silent. The picture switched from time to time, playing the latest news from the evening financial channel. The living room was so quiet that it seemed as if you could hear the sound of breathing.

"Stop standing, sit down."

His father looked up at him and he obediently sat down beside him.

Gu Haiyang asked him formally whether he had adapted to the new school and how his academic performance was. These were some questions that seemed to be just a formality. He answered them lightly, one sentence at a time, and then both father and son fell into silence again.

At this time, Gu Shiye also came down from upstairs. He looked up and saw the two people sitting on the sofa. He raised his eyebrows and jogged over. He sat next to his father with his eyes full of joy.

"Dad, why did you come back so early today?" Gu Shiye asked his father.

Then she pouted and snorted and continued, "I haven't seen you come home so early in a long time," with a coquettish look on her face.

Gu Shiye looked at his father, and his father also looked at him, his face full of doting, but also very restrained, as if he was considering Gu Shiye's feelings.

"There is nothing to do in the company today, so I came back early." Gu Haiyang squinted his eyes and watched the TV, and said to Gu Shiye lightly

Gu Shiye half-lay on the sofa, found a comfortable position and slid down, pouting and saying, "You're lying, you came back so early because you knew my brother was back."

Gu Haiyang glanced at Gu Shiye from the corner of his eye. He was lying crookedly and could not help but scold him, "Get up. You have no manners when you sit. You are already an adult."

Gu Shiye reluctantly twisted his snake-like waist and sat up straight. He turned his mouth slightly downwards, looked at Gu Shiye who was sitting upright, then looked at his father and said

"Dad, this kind of straight posture only suits my brother's cold and aloof face. It doesn't suit me...it will look very contrived."

Gu Shiye sneered silently in his nose. He thought, what is the difference between my face and yours?

The father snorted heavily, looking at his spoiled little son, and felt a sense of regret.

Gu Shiye glanced at his father, his father looked at his younger brother, and his younger brother looked at him. The scene of the three of them looked both awkward and funny.

Two sons who look exactly the same, one is innocent and naive, the other is quiet, one does what he wants, the other is cautious.

This strange atmosphere lasted for about ten minutes, and he was almost unable to sit still. Dinner was just ready, and Gu Haiyang asked his two sons to come to the table to eat. The table was full of dishes, both meat and vegetables, and it was extremely rich, but there was none of his favorite.

His father sat at the top, and he and Gu Shiye sat on either side. So the three of them started a silent family dinner. Gu Shiye ate his meal in big mouthfuls, and when he choked when he ate too fast, he would drink a mouthful of soup. He ate in small mouthfuls without making any sound, feeling awkward and restrained, just hoping that the meal could be finished quickly.

Gu Shiye suddenly asked his father expressionlessly, "Dad, have you told my brother and I about going to England?"

Gu Shiye's heartbeat quickened instantly, and he frowned, feeling it was very sudden and unexpected. He tentatively asked, "Going to England?"

The father nodded expressionlessly and said, "Well, I will send you to study abroad."

He lowered his head and stared blankly at his bowl, feeling very complicated. After a few seconds, he mustered up the courage and said in a calm voice:

"Dad, I don't want to go abroad"

His father had finished eating. He gently put down his chopsticks, stood up without any expression, turned his head and looked at him for a few seconds, then said in a deep voice:

"You have to go even if you don't want to. This is a notice, not a discussion." After saying that, he turned around and walked upstairs.

He stood up and left the table, took two steps forward, his hands tightly grasping his trousers, causing wrinkles to form on them. He looked up at the figure and said firmly:

"My mother said that when I grow up I can make my own choices."

His father's tall figure froze instantly, not moving for several seconds. Then he turned around and looked down at him with a gloomy face. It was an expression he was familiar with: disgust, anger...

"You have no right to mention your mother"

The cold words came out of that cold and familiar mouth again, and his heart was stabbed with pain, as if someone was pulling his heart and crushing it back and forth mercilessly.

The abuser was one of the creators of this heart. He left without looking back, leaving behind a broken boy who had to pick up his crushed heart, and mend and heal it alone over a long period of time.
