HP: Becoming a Maiden Heartthrob

Chapter 245 It’s too late, no matter what

When Kerston saw Cedric bringing Nalilian back, he was not surprised. Instead, he opened the door and let him come in with Nalilian.

"Mom's out traveling, you can stay here tonight," he explained to Cedric, squatting down to take off Nalilian's shoes.

Nalilian put her hand on his shoulder and shook her head, not wanting him to do this in front of Ced, but Kersten held her foot tightly and would not let go.

After Kerston changed Narielian's shoes and stood up, Cedric took out his wand and said, "Kerston, maybe we have to talk today."

Kerston glanced at Nalilian who lowered her head and nodded slightly.

The two of them teleported to other places. Nalilian came to the sofa and saw the fruit salad on the coffee table.

It was dinner that Kerston prepared for her.

His cooking skills are terrible and he can't improve no matter what he does. He usually buys food from outside or makes simple dishes like this that only require chopping and squeezing salad dressing on them.

Nalilian picked up the fork and started eating bite by bite, tears falling one by one.

When Kerston and Cedric came back from the fight, they saw Narielian asleep on the sofa, and the salad on the coffee table next to her was missing a few pieces of fruit and vegetables.

Kerston walked to the sofa and looked at her peaceful sleeping face, which was still stained with tears.

He looked at her and said, "I'm sorry, Ced."

Cedric, who was also looking at Nalilian, spoke up, "You shouldn't have told her."

It makes her so painful and makes her feel so guilty.

Kersten didn't answer.

Cedric continued, "Don't think that Lillian agreed to you because of," he paused, "love."

"I know," Kersten responded, surprisingly calmly.

Cedric frowned, "I don't know the meaning of your doing this?"

Kersten doesn't act solely on emotion and impulse.

If he really loved Lillian, he wouldn't have chosen to confess this to her.

Because she won't accept it, she will only suffer.

"Mother……"

Before Kerston could answer, Nalilian suddenly screamed in her dream, tears falling, and a pearly white light appeared around the edges of her body.

Kersten reached out and pressed the light back into her.

This scene shocked Cedric so much that he couldn't breathe.

"What happened to Lillian?"

Cedric waited until Kerston stopped and wiped the tears from the corners of Narilian's eyes with the back of his hand before he asked.

Kersten went to hold Nallylian's hand, letting her cold hand warm up again, and then he said, "This is the meaning."

Cedric paused.

Kersten continued, "You should know she's losing her magic."

"You know?" Cedric said.

Kersten glanced at him, and Cedric's eyes fixed on him. "You knew this all along?"

"Then why is Lillian like this?"

After asking, he felt that this question was too redundant. If Kersten knew the reason, he would definitely find a way to solve the problem that caused Nalilian's problem instead of letting her become like this.

Kerston said, "She needs magic power. If I come in contact with her body like this, she will absorb the magic power from me."

"Especially when she's asleep."

Cedric paused and frowned, "No wonder Lillian always sleeps on me and you."

"Her body was reflexively trying to save itself," Kersten said.

In fact, Lillian had been like this since a long time ago, when he hadn't even noticed.

But when he started to pay attention, it was already too late.

*

It was a dreamless night. When Nalilian opened her eyes, her heart was beating very fast. She suddenly realized that she had returned to reality and gradually calmed down.

Then she felt the warmth coming from both sides.

She paused and tilted her head to look to the side. It was Seth, sleeping peacefully facing her. She tilted her head to look to the other side. It was Kxton, with a cut at the corner of his mouth, sleeping soundly next to her.

Her hand was held by each of them.

My heart, which had originally calmed down, suddenly started beating violently.

Nalilian withdrew her hands and sat up. After calming down for a moment and realizing that this was reality, she slowly got out of bed and ran out.

Kerston opened his eyes, glanced at Cedric who was still asleep, sat up and followed him out.

Nalilian was standing in the living room and wasn't surprised to see Kersten coming.

Kersten put the thin coat in his hand on her shoulders and held her cold hand.

"Kerston," Nalilian began, "Why did you involve Ced?"

Kersten looked at her.

"My magic is fading," Nalilian confessed, "I think you should know."

Her hands and body became cold because of this, and he had been holding her hand, so it was impossible for him not to notice.

"Yeah," Kerston responded.

Nallylian continued, "I'll become a Muggle sooner or later, and Ced deserves better."

He tightened his grip on her hand, "Yeah."

"But no matter how I talked to him or how I persuaded him, he wouldn't listen."

"Ah."

"He insisted on being by my side."

"Ah."

"I don't want this to happen. Besides, he shouldn't be involved between us."

"Ah."

"You try to make him leave me."

"……no."

Kersten was silent for a moment and then refused.

Nalilian's lips trembled, and she looked at him and said, "You said you loved me."

"Yes," Kersten met her gaze and placed her hand over his heart, "so I won't promise you anything I can't keep."

"Why can't you do it?" Nalilian thought it was ridiculous and tried to pull her hand back, but it was held tightly. "Don't you love me? Then use this as an excuse to keep Sede away from us."

"Instead of letting me see you two living in harmony and making me feel ridiculous."

Kersten looked at her quietly, and waited until she finished speaking before speaking, "Why did you agree to him?"

Nalilian paused.

Kersten continued, "You enjoy his affection? Enjoy his pursuit?"

Or are you planning to die for him?

Tears rolled down Nalilian's cheeks. It was the first time she had endured Kerston's harsh words. "Yes, I enjoy his affection, but I don't want him to hate me, so you have to be the villain."

"I can't, Lillian," Kersten said. "I've chosen to be your lover, not your brother."

"I won't bother you with that."

Nalilian's breath was choked, tears like pearls that had broken off the string, she cried out, "Kerston..."

Kerston closed his eyes, pulled her into his arms, cupped her face, wiped her tears with his thumb, and whispered, "You need Ced."

Whether now or later.
