HP: Becoming a Maiden Heartthrob

Chapter 159 Assistant Coach

"Today's newspaper says the Irish team won the group stage!"

When Senior Wood walked over to Narilla with the Daily Prophet and sat down next to her to happily announce the news, she was having breakfast with Hermione, with Harry sitting next to her, and Senior Wood squeezed in between her and Harry.

Harry suppressed his temper and looked at his captain.

He almost punched him when he suddenly sat down.

Nalilian looked at Senior Wood in confusion.

So?

"Junior Ende," Wood asked in a low voice, "We're about to play against the Slytherin team. Do you have any suggestions?"

Suggest?

Harry, Ron, and Hermione looked at each other, then pricked up their ears.

Why did Senior Wood come to Nalilian for advice?

Nalilian replied, "I was just about to come find you, Senior Wood."

Because she was busy with Sede's affairs in the past few days, although she promised Senior Wood to help the team, she has not had time to fulfill her promise.

This time, after asking Seth for his opinion on the matter, Nalilian decided to formally help Senior Wood.

"I'm still writing the training plan," she said, "but Senior Wood, you can first find someone in the academy to form a substitute team and start scrimmage training."

"Adversarial training?" Wood asked.

"It's a training session where we simulate fighting each other in a formal match," Nalilian explained.

Wood stroked his chin, having shaved this morning. "We have so many great players on this team who can give each other this kind of training."

"Right, Harry?" He looked at Harry. "I often train him by throwing the ball for Harry to find."

Ron muttered, "Isn't this just dog training?" Harry gave him a look that begged for explanation.

Wood didn't understand Harry's look and patted him on the shoulder happily. "See, Harry agrees with me too."

That's totally wrong, Harry was speechless.

"Senior Wood," Nalilian said, "The teams competing against each other must have a complete structure so that we can better simulate the competition field."

"And the substitutes you find can also provide backup if something happens to the regular players."

In fact, Nalilian didn't know whether it was because there were few wizards, but the team in the academy did not prepare substitute players. She was surprised by the fact that they believed that the regular players would not encounter any accidents on the day of the game.

Is it because the healing effects of potions in the magical world are so strong that these captains don’t think their players will get sick or miss the game due to any accidents?

Wood hesitated. "I don't like bad players. The players we have now are the best."

What kind of perfectionist is this, Nalilian thought to herself, and then she advised, "Senior Wood, don't you want to defeat Slytherin? Then do you know what the biggest gap between us and them is?"

"Tactics? Training methods?" Wood replied, looking at her expectantly, as if to say that as long as she joins the team, she can make up for this.

"It's flying brooms," Nalilian interrupted him ruthlessly. "Their entire team is equipped with Nimbus 2001s. How can our team fight them?"

It cannot be said that all the flying brooms in the Gryffindor team are rubbish, but most of the players do not have the spare money to buy the latest flying brooms, unless Wood seduces a rich woman and asks her to buy them for the whole team.

"We beat Slytherin last year," Wood said weakly.

"Yes, 150 to 60. 150 points thanks to Harry catching the Golden Snitch," Nalilyn said. Harry looked at her expectantly, hoping she would praise him more, although he still didn't understand why they were talking about this. Unfortunately, Nalilyn missed his gaze and emphasized to Wood, "Senior Wood, didn't you notice that our Quaffle didn't score a single point?"

"A victory like this depends on Harry catching the Snitch quickly and accurately. But what if Harry takes too long to find the Snitch and the other team scores more goals than they do?"

"Harry won't be able to catch the Golden Snitch and end the game then."

"Hmm," Wood said thoughtfully, "that makes sense."

Harry opened his mouth, but stopped talking.

"Wait," Hermione interrupted, "Can someone explain to me why you're talking about this among yourselves?"

Wood had to explain again why he asked Narilian for help. The other three little wizards were stunned, and Harry's eyes brightened.

"Does this mean Nalilian is going to be the coach of the team?" Ron asked in surprise.

"Our house's Quidditch team coach should be Dean McGonagall," Hermione said uncertainly, "or Senior Wood?"

"That should be the assistant coach?" Ron asked.

"That's right," Wood nodded in response, "Junior Ende, you are our team's assistant coach. This is what I've always wanted."

Ron complained, "You seemed to have just decided last second."

"So confrontational training is very important," Nalilian said to Wood, not caring about the assistant coach.

"I thought you were talking about buying a flying broom," Wood said, his eyes widening.

"No," Na Lilian said, "What I mean is that it's difficult for us to surpass them in this area right now. We need to work hard on our daily training."

"For example, we can simulate Slytherin's frequent tricks to conduct confrontational training."

"Don't they love to ram people with their bodies, hit the Bludgers at the Seekers?" Harry nodded silently. "Don't they love to pull people's uniforms and kick their brooms?"

"Tsk tsk," Ron couldn't help but sigh as he listened to these crimes, "Little Transylvania Team."

"Little Transylvania Team?" Hermione asked doubtfully.

"In the first Quidditch World Cup, the Transylvanian team performed all 700-plus Quidditch fouls, including one where the Transylvanian captain released a hundred vampire bats from beneath his robes," Wood explained. "We thought Slytherin was a good match for this team, so we named them that."

He smiled brightly at this.

"So what are your thoughts, Senior Wood?" Nalilian asked.

"This is quite difficult. You know, not many people have Quidditch talent," Wood said, "but it is indeed meaningful. I will organize a training session like this this weekend. Sister Ende, you can come and watch it, and then leave the rest of the training plan to me."

He said, patted Harry's shoulder, stood up and left.

"Pretty difficult? Organizing a training session this weekend?" Ron couldn't help but complain after Wood left. "Does he have any misunderstandings about these two words?"

"Lillian, you didn't even tell us that you were going to help the team!" Hermione questioned Lillian.

"I just decided yesterday," said Nalilian.

"Actually, about the broomsticks," Harry began, "I can afford six of them."

"Come on, Rich," Ron shouted dramatically.

"I don't think Fred and George would take your stuff, Harry," Nallylian said, shaking her head.

Ron nodded. "No one on the Slytherin team is a lapdog who can accept Malfoy's favor with a clear conscience."

Harry didn't insist on continuing, but his frustration was visible to all three of them.

"Harry," Narilian looked at him and said, "You have seen the current situation. Regardless of whether my training plan works or not, you are the most important-"

Harry's mind went blank, and he completely forgot the frustration of being rejected just now, and looked at her closely.

She said, "As a Chaser, your rocket crossbow is the team's winning weapon."

Harry replied, "Okay."

Ron and Hermione looked at each other.

They bet that after Harry heard Nallylian's most important words, he definitely didn't hear what she said next.
