HP: Becoming a Maiden Heartthrob

Chapter 103 "Why are you here?"

"Lillian, Kerston, you're back."

When Mrs. Ende came to see them with her maid, Nalilian was being helped to take off her shoes by the maid.

She was a little uncomfortable, but she accepted it anyway, and Kerston simply refused the butler's service and took off his shoes himself.

Hearing Mrs. Ende's voice, Nalilian looked over and her eyes lit up.

Mrs. Ende was wearing a custom-made high-end dress. Nalilian had seen this style when she was learning about the history of British royal clothing design. It was a popular style among British aristocrats.

"Mother is so beautiful," she said, looking at Mrs. Ender.

"You're so good, Lillian," Mrs. Ender kissed her cheek. "Come show your new room to your mother."

Nalilian was taken by Mrs. Ende to her new room on the second floor of the house.

It is a Lolita-style girl's room with light white and pink lace interwoven, a cashmere carpet on the floor, a dedicated fireplace and a small sofa on one wall, and a cherry wood desk on the other wall.

"Here, Lillian," Mrs. Ender led her to the wardrobe and opened it, revealing a pile of delicate little dresses.

"Mom couldn't resist buying these for Lillian at the mall, but I didn't know Lillian's size, so I called a tailor from the store. He'll probably be here in the next few days to take Lillian's measurements and make her new clothes. Lillian, don't worry about not having a dress to wear."

Nalilian touched the delicate fabric of these skirts, and her heart seemed to be wrapped in these fabrics, sour and soft.

She lowered her eyes to hide her thoughts, and raised her voice, appearing happy and joyful, "Thank you, Mom. I like it very much!"

After that, it was dinner time. Nalilian changed into a little dress and was led to the restaurant by Mrs. Ende.

Kerston also followed Mr. Ender to the dining table. He was wearing a tight black plaid casual suit. He was tall and slender, and his deep eyebrows and eyes were calm and comfortable. He didn't seem to be uncomfortable with the changes.

But Nalilian found that he had really grown taller.

He was originally only as tall as Mr. Ende's shoulders, but in almost a year he grew to the same height as Mr. Ende.

By this calculation, Kersten should be sixteen years old.

Noticing her look, Kerston looked at her, his dark features softened, and he pulled out a chair. "Lillian, come here."

Nalilian walked over obediently, and after she sat down, Kerston pulled out a chair and sat down next to her.

After Mr. and Mrs. Ende sat down, the waiters began to serve the meal.

Mrs. Ender didn't have to cook; the maids and butlers brought her meals, and she only had to hold the knife and fork with her clean white hands.

But Nalilian felt uncomfortable.

Because no one spoke, the only sound on the table was the sound of knives and forks.

Nalilian couldn't help but look at Mrs. Ender, who was holding the knife and fork, and every move she made was particularly elegant.

Mrs. Ender usually talked about things at home and outside at the dinner table, but she didn't say anything this time.

She has changed a lot.

"Father."

At this time, Kerston spoke, breaking the quiet atmosphere.

Hearing him speak, Mr. Ende frowned at him slightly, and Mrs. Ende also looked at him in surprise.

Kersten continued without a hint of emotion, "How long until we get our things from our old home?"

Nalilian also looked at Mr. Ende, she also cared about this matter.

Mr. Ende spoke gently, but did not answer Kersten's question. Instead, he said, "Kersten, it's best to keep quiet while dining. This is a sign of respect for the meal."

"If you want to discuss it, it's best to do it while the food is being changed or the wine is being poured."

Kersten put down his knife and fork and looked at him, "Who made this rule?"

"These are the rules we must follow. I think you should have learned them," said Mr. Ende.

"Why should we comply?" Kerston continued.

"For this family," Mr. Ende said, looking at his youngest daughter and eldest son.

Both of his children were very perceptive and noticed the changes in the family and felt the uneasiness.

Only the youngest girl was silent and obedient, while the eldest son resisted and questioned.

But no matter what, this is something they have to go through.

This is all for their future.

Kersten did not respond to Mr. Ender's answer. Instead, he looked at Mrs. Ender and asked, "Does Mom think so too?"

Mrs. Ender looked helpless, "Kerston, stop making trouble."

After receiving this answer, Kerston lowered his eyes and picked up his knife and fork again.

Nalilian looked at him, her eyes stunned.

It was impossible for Kerston to be ignorant of etiquette, as he had learned it meticulously in his previous school.

She is the only one here who doesn't know etiquette.

But he questioned this approach.

Because he felt it too?

The coldness and distance of home.

After dinner, Nalilian was taken to visit the estate by Mrs. Ender, and Kersten was taken to the study by Mr. Ender to handle the company's business.

The manor is very large, and there is a glass greenhouse outside. Mrs. Ende said that Mr. Ende built it specifically for Nalilian, but no flowers have been planted in it yet.

Nalilian stood in the glass greenhouse, looking at the blurry moon through the transparent glass wall, thinking of Kerston.

Is he okay?

Since entering the manor, she hasn't seen him look happy at all.

Maybe she should go see him?

At night, when Nalilian put on her pajamas, washed up and went to bed with the help of the maid, she buried herself in the quilt and saw the maid named Yali leave, so she sneaked out of the room.

She was going to find Kersten.

Kerston's room was at the end of the corridor on the second floor, quite far away from her, and she had to pass the Enders' master bedroom.

Nalilian had no choice but to walk over barefoot, quietly opened the door, and then was stunned.

Kerston's room is very minimalist, completely different from her dreamy and soft Lolita style room.

The main colors here are black and leather. Two walls are lined with tall oak bookshelves, piled with heavy, large-headed books and manuscripts without covers.

There is also a desktop computer and a laptop on the desk next to the bookshelf.

The computer and laptop screens were on.

Nalilian was curious.

It's not that she hadn't seen it before. There was a computer in Mr. Ende's study. But even though she saw it, she didn't dare to ask Mr. Ende to touch the computer.

Although Mr. Ende doted on her, she knew that he didn't want her to get involved in business matters, and the computer contained a lot of information about Mr. Ende's company.

However, now it was in Kerston's house, and he probably wouldn't mind if she took a quick look at it.

Nalilian walked over and saw a straight rising line on the lit screen, with various data marked on the side of the line.

This is the stock market interface, and the lines are stock trends.

The "Ende Insurance" marked at the top should be Mr. Ende's insurance company.

This also means that Mr. Ende’s insurance company has been listed.

But the registered capital is really exaggerated, 5.8 million pounds.

She remembered the wealthy British kid she met while studying abroad who boasted that his company's registered capital after going public was 80 million.

But now it is just a fraction of Mr. Ende's company.

"Lillian?"

As Nalilian stared intently, a voice came from behind her, startling her.

She turned around and saw Kerston standing behind her, looking at her with a raised eyebrow.

She knew what he wanted to ask her without him saying anything.

"Why are you here?"
