Gold Medal Sweetheart

Chapter 60 Hide and Seek

Jin Taize withdrew his gaze from the river and gently put his arm around Tang Xin's shoulders. Tang Xin's eyes widened as she followed the force. A flash of astonishment passed through Jin Taize's face, magnifying his superior handsome features. Tang Xin, who had been walking along the riverbank, swapped places with him and was moved to the side next to the wall.

Maybe it was because Jin Taize's pull was too sudden, or because his appearance was too distracting to other people's thinking, but Tang Xin didn't have time to take her eyes off Jin Taize. It wasn't until a few boys who looked like middle school students skated past her quickly that she came to her senses.

Jin Taize remained calm as usual and ordered in a commanding tone, "Go inside."

Although his expression was serious and somewhat unfriendly, Tang Xin still felt a warm feeling welling up in her heart. In fact, when Jin Taize wasn't being so sharp-tongued, he still had a bit of humanity, even though his cool and arrogant demeanor was annoying. Tang Xin smiled as she turned and quickly followed Jin Taize.

"I remember when I was a child, my home was not far from here. When the river froze into thick ice in winter, my father would bring me here to play." Tang Xin looked at the river and fell into vague memories.

"What about now?" Jin Taize seemed very interested.

"After we moved, it's a bit far away, so I haven't come here to play in the winter." Tang Xin had a melancholy look on her face. "It used to be a small bamboo cart with a simple raft. People sat on it, and someone pulled it in front, you know." Tang Xin said while gesturing.

Jin Taize nodded in response.

Tang thought that he might not really know. Someone like him who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth would probably not play such a game for ordinary people.

"Besides, now that I'm grown up, even if I want to come, my dad probably won't be able to pull me over." Tang Xin stuck out her tongue.

Jin Taize paced to the right of Tang Xin, and when he glanced sideways he caught the resentment in her eyes.

"What games did you like to play when you were a child?" Tang Xin glanced at Jin Taize lightly.

Jin Taize's voice was deep and calm, "Hide and seek."

"I like it too." Tang Xin felt that talking about her childhood with Jin Taize was at least not like talking about some other topics that would easily embarrass him.

"Do you prefer to be the one looking or the one hiding?" she chatted idly.

"Looking for someone." Jin Taize's tone was serious, as if this was not a question for making small talk.

"Why?" Tang Xin still remembered playing hide-and-seek as a child. The process of counting and waiting for everyone to hide was too long. Everyone was vying to be the hider, and only those who were found would reluctantly be the finder in the next round. This freak was indeed different from the others.

"Because as long as we win, we can control the time when the Tibetans are nervous." Jin Taize said indifferently.

Tang Xin squinted at Jin Taize, meaning that he could find it whenever he wanted. This sounded like bragging in the most domineering way using the most understated words.

She couldn't help but snort and muttered softly, "You're just bragging."

Unexpectedly, he met Jin Taize's deep eyes and said bluntly, "Oh? As a witness, do you have any objections, Mr. Tang?"

Tang Xin's eyes suddenly widened as she realized she had fallen into Jin Taize's trap again. He was teasing her about how he had found her after days of hiding.

But she didn't even hear it and climbed along the pole handed to her by Jin Taize. It was so embarrassing.

She glared at Jin Taize angrily, "You——"

Jin Taize looked at the exasperated little woman in front of him. Although he clenched his fists to hide the smile on the corners of his lips, the chuckle he made was merciless.

The ringing of the phone interrupted their confrontation. Tang Xin looked in the direction of the sound.

Jin Taize pulled his phone from his trouser pocket and glanced down at the unfamiliar, unsigned number. He stared at it for a few seconds, seemingly unable to figure out the identity of the person on the other end. After a moment's hesitation, he answered the call in a distant voice, "Hello, who is this?"

The gentle breeze brought the heartwarming voice from the other end of the line to Tang Xin's ears, "Taize, it's me."

"Who are you?" Jin Taize was obviously displeased with such an answer, and his voice was so cold that it made people shudder.

The woman was obviously not mentally prepared for such a question and answer. She was silent for a second, and her voice became a little timid. "Boss Jin, it's me, Ji Siqi."

Tang Xin's eyes widened. Ji Siqi? The actress who had shot to fame in the past two years after starring in two incredibly popular TV series?

Because of her beautiful appearance and transcendent temperament, she is rated by netizens as the most fairy-like female star.

Tang Xin couldn't believe her ears. It wasn't until she heard on the phone that she'd just finished filming her scenes that she truly felt so close to a star.

"Are you off work? Can you give me a few minutes?" Ji Siqi's gentle voice was so gentle that water could drip out.

"I'm attending a thank-you dinner." Jin Taize said slowly, but his eyes looked at Tang Xin meaningfully.
