Gold Medal Sweetheart

Chapter 3 Scholars can be killed but not humiliated

Tang Xin spent the day in constant fear, never knowing when the principal would call her in for a heart-to-heart talk. But this day was surprisingly normal, so normal that it even struck Tang Xin as abnormal. Logically, Jiaojiao would have rushed to the principal's office, wailing and decrying all her faults. If Jiaojiao were Little Red Riding Hood, she would be the Big Bad Wolf; if Jiaojiao were Snow White, she would be the evil witch. In short, she, the most wicked woman in the world, had tormented this fragile and helpless woman to the point of tears.

Last time, my colleague, Teacher Zhang, expressed his dissatisfaction with Miss Jiaojiao's temper in the office, and the principal called him in for a talk. But the whole day passed, and there was no news at all. This was the strangest thing. Tang Xin tossed and turned in bed that night, unable to sleep, her mind a mountain of questions. No, it would be better to take the initiative and resign tomorrow to avoid being driven out by others. A man can be killed but not humiliated. It would be more graceful to resign on his own initiative. Thinking of this, Tang Xin suddenly sat up, turned on the desk lamp, and immediately got to work, opening the computer and writing her resignation letter. After finishing, she read it over twice and carefully put the letter into the envelope. A small determination flashed in Tang Xin's eyes.

The next day, Tang Xin got up early, which even made her mother and father wonder why the child disappeared without any urging.

Arriving at school, Tang Xin pulled her resignation letter from her bag in her office, shook it in her hands, and waited a moment, as if to muster up courage. She nodded vigorously, pushed open the door, and headed for the principal's office on the second floor. As she walked, she thought, "It's best to get this over with quickly. Don't let An Qi see me resigning. She'd probably feel guilty if she knew I was resigning." She'd better wait until she was done and then tell An Qi slowly.

After knocking on the principal's office door, Tang Xin gently pushed the door open with a "Come in". What shocked her was that Jiaojiao was also in the office.

As soon as Tang Xin came in, she saw Jiaojiao curling her lips, smiling and looking very complacent, as if she had known I was coming.

After a few seconds of shock, Tang Xin deliberately glanced past Jiaojiao and towards the principal. Tang Xin walked over and handed the letter to the principal. The principal glanced at the letter but didn't take it. Instead, he slowly said, "What's going on?"

Tang Xin replied calmly, "Principal, I want to resign."

"Teacher Tang, have you found a better job?" asked the principal.

After hesitating for a moment, Tang Xin answered "No". She was not a person who liked to lie, so she was not good at lying.

The principal smiled and said, "I've heard some of this as well. We teachers need to manage the relationships between students and teachers, as well as the relationships between colleagues." He glanced meaningfully at Tang Xin and then at Jiaojiao. "A teacher's primary responsibility is to teach students well. Don't let trivial matters affect your work. Teacher Tang, I think you're very dedicated in your work and have good grades. So, from the school's perspective, I hope you'll stay until you find a better job."

Hearing the principal's words, Tang Xin raised her head from staring at the letter in her hand, and Jiaojiao also suddenly turned her head. The two of them simultaneously cast incredulous glances at the principal.

The principal said nonchalantly, "Teacher Du wasn't calm enough in handling the situation yesterday. I called her here to try to persuade her. I also hope you can prioritize the overall situation and stay on, okay?"

Seeing that the principal had changed his usual serious attitude and tried his best to keep her, Tang Xin originally thought that she, a latecomer, was not capable of such a heavy responsibility in the eyes of the principal who was always strict about attendance. However, after hearing what the principal said, Tang Xin felt that she was still quite valuable and couldn't help feeling a little proud.

Although she was speaking out for justice, she and Anqi weren't entirely right about what happened yesterday; after all, they were talking behind others' backs. And thinking rationally, Anqi was right. If she resigned now, she wouldn't have found a job, and being so frugal wouldn't be her style. And if her mother knew she'd resigned on a whim, she'd definitely kill her. It was she who had originally set her sights on the teaching position, saying it was easier for girls to get married. The principal's strong support was a real honor for her, so she might as well take a step back and stay on.

Seeing that Tang Xin didn't say anything, the principal said calmly, "Since you haven't rejected my proposal, I'll assume you've accepted it."

When Tang Xin heard the principal say this, she naturally knew to go down the stairs. "Principal Wang, thank you for your recognition of my work. I will do my best to fulfill my responsibilities in the future and will improve any shortcomings in my work! If you have nothing else to do, I'll be on my way out first."

Seeing the principal nod, Tang Xin prepared to leave the principal's office, but before she left, she accidentally saw Jiaojiao looking furious, but she didn't think much about it and left.

After Tang Xin left, Jiaojiao continued to nag, "Second Aunt, are you still my Second Aunt? Yesterday, when I asked you to come over, you were already in a meeting, and your phone was turned off. Didn't you see her and that androgynous An Qi bullying me yesterday? They called me a witch in front of all my colleagues and even called me a mistress. I've never been bullied like that since I was a child."

Wang Xiao turned his swivel chair around, looked at An Qi, and asked, "Doesn't it have anything to do with you that you're being humiliated like this?"

"What does it have to do with me?" Jiaojiao said unhappily.

"You're so sharp, there's no one like you in the whole school."

"like me?"

"You have to have good looks and talent, so you always compare your strengths with their weaknesses, which naturally makes others unhappy."

Hearing what the principal said, Jiaojiao smiled, "But you can't let them insult me like that, don't you feel bad?" Jiaojiao lives up to her name, she is first-class at acting coquettishly.

"Of course we can't let them bully us, but we don't have to get straight to the point. We can adopt roundabout tactics!" Wang Xiao said with great success.

Jiaojiao didn't understand what was going on. After thinking about it, she gradually revealed a charming smile.
