Gold Medal Sweetheart
Chapter 24 Imitation
When Jin Taize was away on business, Tang Xin felt that it was so relaxing not to have to lie or pretend. Even if she had to do more hard work at school or get a few more cold stares from Jiaojiao, it didn't make her feel so depressed anymore.
This month's exam papers had already been printed, and teachers from all grades and subjects had gone to the printing room to pick them up. Tang Xin helped distribute them to the teachers.
After An Qi entered the room, she asked loudly, "Tang Tang, where are our papers?"
Tang Xin brought over a thick stack of papers and placed them on the table in front of An Qi. The papers made a dull sound as they pressed against the surface. "They're all here."
"it is good."
Tang Xin turned around to help Pei Yun, the first-year English teacher who came with An Qi, to pick up the test papers, but her wrist was grabbed by someone. She turned around and saw An Qi studying her bracelet.
"Is this bracelet new? It's so pretty." An Qi asked with a curious smile. Apart from the necklace with a pendant that Tang Xin often wore, she rarely wore any other jewelry.
Pei Yun, who came with them, also came over and looked it over. She looked up at Tang Xin in surprise and said, "This is the same limited edition that I saw in the magazine." She still remembered that the price marked in the magazine was so expensive that it could make people faint on the spot.
Tang Xin smiled and tried to deny it, "No..."
Before she could finish, a sharp female voice interrupted, "Hey, what are you talking about? It's so lively. What limited edition?" The gorgeous silk skirt floated in along the door frame.
Jiaojiao entered with a smile on her face, but the arrogance in her voice remained undimmed. Everyone fell silent, and Tang Xin gently pulled her arm out of Pei Yun's grasp. The subtle movement didn't escape Jiaojiao's attention. She stopped them both, grabbed Tang Xin's wrist, and smiled, praising her, "This bracelet is quite beautiful."
Ever since Tang Xin stopped teaching, even if colleagues didn't tell each other, everyone knew privately that Jiaojiao held a grudge against Tang Xin. So when they heard Jiaojiao say this, they were still quite surprised, and several pairs of eyes looked at Jiaojiao at the same time.
Pei Yun also continued with relief, "This model was introduced in this issue of the fashion magazine. It's a limited edition."
Jiaojiao raised the corners of her eyes charmingly, glanced at Pei Yun, and a mocking laugh escaped her lips. "If it's a limited edition, it must be very hard to buy. Even if I go through a purchasing agent, I might not be able to buy it. Add to that the shipping time, and it will take a long time to get it. I remember this one is new."
Jiaojiao raised her eyes proudly and looked at Tang Xin with a smug expression as if she had exposed someone else's tricks.
Tang Xin pulled her hand back vigorously, ignoring her.
Jiaojiao had no intention of doing that. She raised her eyelids and asked arrogantly, "How much did you pay for it, Teacher Tang?"
Tang Xin stood there, glaring at her, wanting to retaliate. Jiaojiao's egocentric expression was truly annoying. But the last time they clashed, it was because Jiaojiao had insulted Anqi. So, this time, she could just sarcastically mock her. She really had no intention of competing over such a trivial matter. She calmed herself down, her surging anger subsiding. She simply turned inside to sort out her papers.
Jiaojiao stared at Tang Xin's back, leaving her hanging there like that. Her face suddenly felt humiliated, a look of embarrassment frozen on her face. Furious, she glanced inside with a fierce look in her eyes and uttered in a high-pitched voice, "I think it's a knock-off I bought online. It cost a few dozen yuan." Her high heels stomped even louder as she dismissed her luck.
Tang Xin watched her leave before turning around. An Qi stared at the direction where Jiaojiao walked away, curling her lips in dissatisfaction, "Look at her, are her eyes on the top of her head?"
Pei Yun covered her mouth and laughed. Tang Xin glanced at An Qi with a reproachful look, "Forget it, let her say whatever she wants."
Pei Yun waved at Tang Xin, "Come here, let me take another look."
Tang Xin looked up and sighed softly, then rolled her eyes at Pei Yun, asking him if he was done yet. Then she walked over. Pei Yun smiled and stuck out her tongue.
After looking at it for a while, Pei Yun exclaimed, "The workmanship is really good." Tang Xin smiled indifferently. She didn't know where Jin Taize bought it from, but she didn't believe that he would spend a lot of money to buy this for someone he had just met.
Pei Yun then looked at Tang Xin cautiously and asked flatteringly, "Tang Tang."
Tang Xin glanced at Pei Yun casually, "Hmm?"
“Can you give me the website?”

During the few days that Jin Taize was away, Tang Xin felt at ease and at ease. Everything seemed to have returned to the beginning, and she had almost forgotten about this person's existence.
That evening, Jin Taize sat in the terminal lounge abroad, staring at his phone screen. His taut jawline accentuated his superior profile, a commanding presence. Assistant Hu Yang, returning from food pickup, paused, a bit puzzled by his boss's thoughts. The decision to return had been hasty, but when he hesitantly told Jin that he could only buy economy class, he surprisingly agreed.
According to the original plan, the past few days' itinerary would have taken about a week, if everything went smoothly. However, since Mr. Jin arrived, he's been working at full speed, shortening and moving up every possible schedule. He hasn't even had time to adjust to the time difference. After working during the day, he's been holding video conferences with senior executives in China until the early hours of the morning. Even though he's been with Mr. Jin for many years and is used to his intense work pace, it's a bit too much for him.
"Boss Jin," Hu Yang handed the burger to Jin Taize, "this is the time."
Jin Taize hummed, his chin raised towards the table. Hu Yang glanced at him, who was frowning and staring at his phone, then silently placed the burger on the table and sat down across from Jin Taize. Seeing the stern expression on his boss's face, he pinched the burger in his hand, unsure whether to eat it or not.
Upon arriving abroad, he sent Tang Xin a photo of himself at the airport to let her know he was safe. During his rare breaks from work, he would occasionally send her some daily photos and greetings. However, after receiving her instructions after the safety announcement, almost all subsequent messages were replaced by perfunctory emojis, to the point where he rarely replied.
KING: If there's no response for 24 hours, I think we should call the police for missing persons.
Twenty minutes later.
: I'm sorry. But I feel that you are very busy and I dare not disturb you at work.
KING: It seems like you're much busier than I am.
Tang Xin was slightly startled and rolled her eyes. After not seeing him for a few days, his ability to speak harshly and sharply was still as good as ever.
: Just kidding, haha.
To change the subject, Tang Xin expressed her concern for Jin Taize, who was far away: "How was your business trip? Did everything go well?"
KING: TOEFL, everything went well, I'm already at the airport.
Didn't they say they'd be leaving for a week? It's only been a few days! Oh my! Tang Xin was having a hard time digesting this sudden news.
The phone screen remained silent for a long time. Jin Taize poked at the profile picture. Tang Xin only came back to her senses when the phone suddenly vibrated.
Q: Which country are you going to? How long does the flight take?
KING: The United States, about twenty hours.
The United States? The time difference there is about ten hours, so the day and night are reversed.
: Then I always receive your messages during the day.
It seems a little unconvinced.
Jin Taize raised his eyebrows and confirmed: I sent it in the middle of the night.
Tang Xin: ...
KING: I'm about to board the plane. See you back home.
Putting away his phone, Jin Taize took a sip of the drink on the table. He looked up and saw that Hu Yang hadn't touched the burger yet. He looked at him and asked, "Why aren't you eating yet?"
"Boss Jin, you haven't eaten yet." Hu Yang lowered his head and pondered for a moment. "Actually, our merger and acquisition plan is progressing very smoothly."
Jin Taize picked up the burger and gave Hu Yang a cold look. "What do you want to say, kid?"
Hu Yang rubbed his nose. "Actually, if we don't speed things up, nothing will go wrong." It was said that other companies had previously approached the company they were acquiring, potentially creating competition. Mr. Jin had accelerated some of the arrangements, presumably to avoid any complications.
Jin Taize curled his lips slightly, confident and charming, "Our company is strong, and the conditions we offer are reasonable and attractive. There is no reason for the other party not to cooperate with us."
Didn't he return home early for work? Hu Yang glanced at the man in surprise. Mr. Jin had been feeling pretty good since he put down his phone, so they tacitly stopped discussing the matter.
After boarding the plane, Jin Taize closed his eyes to rest. After a while, he instructed Hu Yang, "Book a private room in the Bamboo Courtyard for lunch the day after tomorrow."
