Gold Medal Sweetheart

Chapter 16 Your name is nice

After setting up the stall for two days, the stall had customers on the second day instead of being open on the first day. By the third day, Tang Xin's enthusiasm had increased a lot, so she came to the night market early again.

By the time the stall was set up, customers were already arriving, and more than one person was coming. Tang Xin had also experienced a small peak in her career. She was busy giving change and packing bags for customers, having a great time.

In the chaos, the cell phone rang. Tang Xin took out her phone and took a look. It was an unfamiliar number. Since she didn't know who it was, it seemed that she might have dialed the wrong number. Moreover, she was busy taking care of her business and was afraid of missing out on a good opportunity to make money, so she pressed the reject button and went back to her own business.

A few seconds later, the phone rang again, relentlessly. Tang Xin, seeing another call, had no choice but to pause her solicitation and press the answer button. A cold voice came through the receiver, "Why are you rejecting the call?" Before Tang Xin could reply, the voice on the other end continued, commanding, "Come to Yunjin Restaurant now." This was like a slap in the face, leaving Tang Xin bewildered. She immediately retorted, somewhat annoyed, "Who are you? You're asking me to go to a restaurant so late at night? Are you a liar?!"

The voice on the other end of the line hesitated for a moment. Although the voice was low, it gave people an invisible pressure. "Didn't you say you would save the number when you got back? It seems that my suspicions about you that I didn't express at the time were not unreasonable."

Hearing the aggressive tone, Tang Xin's nerves suddenly tensed up, feeling like they were about to break. Could it be someone's last name be Jin? She timidly tried to confirm, "You are Jin..."

"Who else do you think it could be?" someone interrupted her, seemingly accusing her. "What are you doing? Why are you making so much noise?"

Tang thought for a moment, unsure how to explain it. He couldn't just tell the truth. It didn't make sense for the daughter of the Deputy Director of the Industry and Commerce Bureau to set up a street vendor. It would be better to euphemistically say, "I'm studying economics."

"You? Economics?" A helpless sigh came from the other end, as if the person didn't take her words seriously. "Okay, come right over. Remember to take a taxi!"

"Hello - hello -" Before Tang Xin could finish her words, the receiver was filled with a busy tone as if the call had been hung up.

He is so arrogant. He is used to being a CEO and gives orders to everyone regardless of the occasion or time.

Although she was dissatisfied, she had to go. It was just strange. Logically speaking, she didn't behave well that day, so why did this man named Jin contact her?

However, I didn't see him save her number that day, but he remembered it...

Although his mind was full of unanswered questions, he didn't dare to waste time. He said hello to Lin Lin, quickly finished his business, and returned home with his things. Tang's father and mother were still wondering why he came back just after going out. Tang Xin put down his things and left again.

I don't know what this guy surnamed Jin was planning. He suddenly asked her to go to the Yunjin Hotel, which is so far away, and made her spend more money on taxi fare than she could afford.

As soon as she got out of the car, she dialed the unfamiliar number that Jin Taize had just called. After the phone rang briefly, a deep and relaxed male voice came from the other end, "Hello."

"Yeah - it's me, I'm here." Tang Xin said while looking around outside the hotel door.

"Wait a moment." Jin Taize said without question.

Tang Xin, backpack strapped to her back, was so bored she could only walk around the hotel entrance, counting the square bricks. It wasn't long before she saw Jin Taize and three middle-aged men emerging from the hotel. One of them was the deputy mayor. Jin Taize, dressed in a sharp suit and white shirt, looked both businesslike and handsome. Surrounded by these dignitaries, he was calm and composed, his manner and elegance evident in his conversation and laughter, a composure beyond his years. Jin Taize seemed to have noticed her, too. Even from a distance of a hundred meters, Tang Xin could feel his intense gaze. As they spoke, Jin Taize and his companions' gazes shifted toward the hotel entrance, and Tang Xin naturally followed their gaze. What? The man about to exit the hotel looked like Guan Yushan's father—her nominal father? Her first thought was to hide. Glancing around, she spotted a silver-gray sports car against the wall next to her, a perfect hiding spot. So, she quickly fled to the back of the car and crouched down. Although she pricked up her ears to listen to everything that happened, she heard nothing because of the distance. She didn't dare to stick her head out for fear of exposing her target, so she could only wait in fear.

After an unknown amount of time, Tang Xin, squatting on the ground, looking down at her phone, saw a pair of simple, yet seemingly expensive men's shoes. She followed the slender legs, her gaze gradually climbing upwards. Jin Taize, like a lofty emperor, gazed at her with an unfathomable gaze.

Why did every meeting always start like this? He was the emperor, and she was groveling. The first time, she was like a commoner bowing before the emperor, and this time, she was like a beggar on the street, looking pitifully at the arrogant donor.

Jin Taize said softly, "What are you doing here in my car?" Although it was a question, there didn't seem to be much surprise in his tone.

Is this his car? What a coincidence! It's haunting him. Tang Xin muttered inwardly, "My shoelaces are untied. I'm tying them." She even pointed to Jin Tae-jae pretentiously.

In front of her, a tall figure under the light suddenly fell down, and Jin Taize squatted in front of Tang Xin, frightening her so much that she dared not breathe. Does this need to be checked?

Tang Xin was so nervous she didn't dare move a hair. She glimpsed Jin Taize's lowered head, seemingly not looking at the bottom, but examining her knee instead. Tang Xin breathed a sigh of relief. He was actually checking her leg injury. She'd forgotten about it for the past two days and hadn't applied the medicine, yet he'd actually remembered it since their last breakup. Looking at him so close under the night light, his head lowered, his gaze left and right, his expression incredibly serious, Tang Xin was momentarily lost in thought. So, Jin Taize's casual remark, "It looks like the injury from last time is fine," seemed to have completely blocked her out.

Seeing that Tang Xin didn't say anything, he suddenly looked up and bumped into Tang Xin, who was staring at him without blinking. Tang Xin, as if someone had discovered her secret, looked away awkwardly.

"Is there something you want me to do, Mr. Jin?" She stood up and could only change the subject abruptly.

"Mr. Jin?" Jin Taize also stood up, his brows furrowed, and his face suddenly became gloomy.

She hadn't remembered the name Yushan had mentioned, so she only remembered it roughly. It should be Jin. But looking at the man's unhappy expression, could she have even remembered the last name wrong? She hesitated for a moment, looking up cautiously at the man, "Did I call him by the wrong name? It's not Jin?"

He'd never been ignored like he was now. Didn't he have any dignity left? The man's face was covered in frost, his brows shrouded in coldness, his eyes like ice knives cutting through people so hard they dared not look him in the eye. He said coldly, "It seems Miss Guan doesn't intend to have a long-term relationship with me. I don't want to force anyone, so why don't I tell the introducer the truth and not waste each other's time."

Tang Xin panicked and grabbed the man's sleeve. This couldn't be a sign of disapproval; it had to be the one being dumped. In a moment of desperation, she blurted out a blunt, "No." Jin Taize glanced down at his arm and gave Tang Xin a cold look. Awkwardly, Tang Xin pulled her hand back and touched her lips.

"Oh?" Jin Taize lowered his head and looked into her eyes. "Ms. Guan, do you like me that much?"

Tang Xin stood there, feeling as if she were on fire despite the cool night. Her face felt uncomfortably hot. However, due to her current situation, she couldn't utter a word of rebuttal. She buried her face so low it was invisible, and a soft "hmm" escaped her throat.

"Are you my employee? You should also call me Mr. Jin. At least show some sincerity, right?" Jin Taize said coldly.

She was confirmed to have the surname Jin, but she wasn't entirely sure what the final character of her full name was. But Yushan had initially said only two weeks of acting was enough, so who would care if someone they'd met for two weeks and then stopped talking to was actually Zhang San or Li Si? What was Jin Tai's name? Pretending to remain calm, Tang Xin's mind raced through memories, going from Tai'an, Thailand, Tairan, and Taishan. By the time she was done, Teddy Jin Taize's face was so dark it looked like ink could drip out.

"Jin Taidi?" Jin Taize raised his eyebrows and asked sarcastically, "Which pet did you give this nickname to?"

After several failed guesses, she timidly whispered, "I didn't mean to insult you. I'm sorry."

"So you really didn't remember my name?" It seemed that her explanation did not make Young Master Jin much happier, and there was a little more anxiety in Jin Taize's voice.

Really, in this situation, I can't ask his name again, that would undoubtedly add fuel to the fire.

Suddenly, she had an idea and came up with a good idea.

She looked at Jin Taize pitifully and begged, "I can get your name right, but please forgive me if the following method causes any discomfort."

Jin Taize closed his eyes towards Tang Xin, which meant he agreed.

Tang Xin opened the browser, opened the Baidu page, and directly typed the words "President Shi Tian" in the search bar.

If you have any questions, you can ask Baidu. Why didn’t she think of such a simple method earlier?

Jin Taize looked at Tang Xin's actions and felt like smoke was coming out of his head. He supported his forehead with his palm, tilted his head and gently stroked his eyebrows with his fingers, as if trying to wipe away the embarrassment and depression that was coming up.

After hitting enter, Tang Xin's phone screen was flooded with content related to the CEO of Shi Tian Group. She didn't have time to look at anything else and went straight to Baidu Encyclopedia.

"Your name is nice." Tang Xin tried to break the awkward atmosphere by saying some meaningless compliments.
