Gold Medal Sweetheart

Chapter 14 Buying Medicine

She rattled off the number, but Jin Taize didn't write it down, so she looked at him in confusion. Jin Taize felt his gaze on him, staring straight ahead, and said calmly, "My phone's dead. I've got it in my head." Tang Xin actually had a pen in her bag that she'd brought from school after get off work, and she wanted to ask him if he wanted it, but she swallowed the words back. It would be best if he forgot the number.

The elevator quickly reached the first floor, and the two of them walked outside the mall. Tang thought it would be better to take the initiative, so he said, "Please stay, I'm here."

"Wait a moment." Before Tang Xin could react, she saw Jin Taize quickly rush into a store not far from the mall.

Tang Xin looked carefully at the plaque, which clearly read "Weimin Pharmacy".

Is he feeling unwell? I never noticed! Tang Xin thought to herself, hooking her fingers around the shoulder strap of her schoolbag.

After a while, Jin Taize came out of the pharmacy. Under the afternoon sun, he looked extremely handsome. Judging from the looks of passers-by, he had become a sight to behold along the way.

"Are you not feeling well?" Tang Xin asked with concern when she saw him coming.

Jin Taize did not answer, but handed Tang Xin a small paper box. Tang Xin took the box and looked down. It said "Yunnan Baiyao Aerosol" on it.

Jin Taize nodded, and Tang Xin followed his gaze and looked at her knees. She only heard him say, "Shake before spraying, 3-5 times a day."

Tang Xin couldn't help but be a little stunned. This man had just mocked her for falling, and now he went to the pharmacy to buy medicine for her. Her heart felt vaguely warm, just like the spring weather.

"Thank you." Tang Xin was touched and suddenly felt that he was not so mean and annoying.

"It can barely be considered an industrial injury. I should come forward to offer my condolences." Jin Taize looked down at Tang Xin with wise eyes.

Meeting Jin Taize's gaze, Tang Xin felt a little embarrassed and turned her head away, "I'm leaving first."

"I'll take you there." A brief but powerful response.

"I have a car." The same concise response.

"Oh?" Jin Taize said with a hint of surprise.

Seeing his questioning expression, she said, "Of course, I'm leaving! Just drop it off here! You're welcome! Oh, by the way, thank you for the paella! Byebye!" After saying a lot of words in a row, she trotted all the way to the other end of the street without looking back.

Jin Taize stood at one end of the street, his gazes of envy and admiration streaming down his face. Some, even whispering and glancing back, passed by. The early spring sunshine had gradually dispelled the bitter chill of winter, and the warm afternoon air enveloped him, leaving him feeling slightly tipsy and lingering. Always busy with work, he hadn't truly relaxed and sunbathed for ages.

After a while, I saw a petite girl pushing a white bicycle at the other end of the road. She got on the bicycle and walked into the bustling crowd in the spring breeze. The pink color on her bicycle was even more dazzling.

Back in the office, Jin Tae-taek leaned against the table, his long legs crossed, and flipped through the graduation photos in his phone album. He quickly found the person he matched with, wearing a bachelor's cap and smiling sweetly. He opened the drawer with his right hand, tapped the items inside with his fingers, and a subtle, meaningful smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

Tang Xin rode her bike in a daze, her mind racing with thoughts. She wondered if this farce would continue, how it would end, and she regretted her impulsive decision to agree to Guan Yushan's proposal. She pondered this all the way until she reached home.

When I got home and opened WeChat, all kinds of unread messages from the day came flooding in. The top one was a phone number sent by Jin Taize.

At this moment, the phone vibrated again, and a new WeChat message came in, King: "Remember to spray the medicine."

Tang Xin's heart tightened for no reason, and she politely replied, "Okay."

She picked up the medicine box, took out the spray, shook it according to Jin Taize's instructions, sprayed it on her knees, and then fell on the bed with her legs spread out. Recalling the blind date that day, she could finally give Yushan an explanation.

The pain in her knee had mostly subsided. Tang Xin grabbed the medicine box and muttered to herself, "It's quite effective."

Her knees no longer hurt, and Tang Xin was in a better mood to read Jin Taize's messages one by one, until she read Guan Yushan's message early in the morning: "Keep going, love you!"

She pressed the voice call button, intending to report to Guan Yushan, but no one answered. Then her mother called Tang Xin to pick vegetables and prepare dinner. She threw her phone on the bed and went to help.

After dinner, Guan Yushan's call finally came through. Tang Xin didn't forget to show off a little, "Miss, you finally answered the phone. There's a saying that goes, ungrateful. Yes, that's it. You've always been better at Chinese than me. Can you explain it to me?"

Guan Yushan smiled awkwardly, "Sorry, Tangtang, it was very quiet during the exhibition, so I muted my voice."

"You missed the chance to see such a handsome man because of this. Isn't it a pity? It's not too late to regret it now."

"I have Hao Ting now, and no one can tempt me. Giving you this opportunity will keep it within the family." Guan Yushan said righteously.

"Hao Ting again, hey, aren't you afraid that I'll mess things up?"

"No way?" Guan Yushan said in a skeptical tone, thinking that her friend really did have this ability.

"I don't know either." Tang Xin said a little worriedly.

Guan Yushan said calmly, "What did you guys say?"

Tang Xin had just told Guan Yushan about the embarrassing scene of falling down as soon as they met when she was interrupted by Guan Yushan, "Are you okay? Are you hurt?" Her tone was full of worry.

"Oh, it's just a small problem, not a big deal." Tang Xin, who has always been carefree, said indifferently. In fact, if Jin Taize hadn't bought her medicine, she would have endured it.

"It's all because of me." Knowing that Tang Xin was injured, Guan Yushan was full of guilt.

"It's really okay. I promise you with my indestructible body." Tang Xin had come here to help, but making Yu Shan worry about her was not her original intention. "There's something crucial coming up later." In order to distract Yu Shan's attention, Tang Xin immediately returned to the topic.

She repeated the question Kim Tae-jae had asked, "Why do I feel like I'm looking for a job?"

He was waiting for Guan Yushan's response, but she hesitated for a few seconds before saying absentmindedly, "I just heard you say that your performance today should be fine." Tang Xin was about to be happy and was about to tell Yushan the rest of the story, but she heard someone on the other end say hurriedly, "Tangtang, just act according to the circumstances. Haoting called me. Let's talk about it when we get back." After that, she hung up the phone.

Tang Xin instantly felt she was being ignored again and said helplessly, "Guan Yushan, can you please take some responsibility for yourself?"

That night, exhausted from the day, Tang Xin fell asleep early. Half asleep and half awake, she had an unreal dream. She was brought to court as a suspect. The judge sat high above her, but his back was to her, so she couldn't see his face clearly. After the prosecution had presented a long list of charges, they awaited the judge's verdict. When the judge turned around, she saw that it was Jin Tae-taek. His expression was solemn, but his tone was chilling: "This court declares that the defendant, Tang Xin, has been convicted of a crime based on substantiated evidence. This court has ruled that..."
