Positive little sun, magical girl, I am awesome
Chapter 72 Dog Training
Lilith happily walked back to the dormitory holding the sword. She could obviously put the sword into the ring, but she was extremely excited, even a little proud, and wanted to share the fact that she had joined the Guardian training with everyone she met, such as -
"Catherine!"
Lilith ran into the girl in black skirt walking out of the vampire vine building and waved to her excitedly.
"Lilith." Catherine looked at the practice sword in Lilith's hand and nodded lightly in response.
"Catherine! I will be training with the guardians from now on! I can finally continue learning swordsmanship!" Lilith smiled happily and waved her new toy to the princess generously.
"...Congratulations." Catherine said briefly.
Lilith looked at the quiet Catherine, hesitated for a moment, and then spoke seriously, "Catherine... my previous knowledge of the Bishop family only came from books. If I offended you, it was definitely not my intention. I apologize to you. And..."
She looked sincerely into Catherine's smoky gray eyes: "I really think that having witch blood is super cool!!"
Catherine seemed to have not expected her to say this and was stunned for a moment.
"And..." Lilith added again. She looked at Catherine and bit her lip, but she couldn't help it.
"That Daniel, I think he is a little..." Lilith was very conflicted about whether to say bad things about people behind their backs, but Daniel's words always revealed his contempt and belittlement for women. She sincerely hoped that Catherine could stay away from such a person and not be fooled by his gentlemanly appearance.
"I have seen real knights, Catherine." Lilith decided to be more tactful. "I think Daniel is still far from being good enough in every aspect. You should look at other people..."
"You?" Catherine asked suddenly.
"What?" Lilith was confused by Catherine's sudden question.
"Is this the reason why you gave up all your spare time to join the Guardians, Lilith?" Catherine's mood, which had been gloomy for many days, finally improved. The method that Kanien said seemed to really work!
"You want me to continue considering you? Consider the Taylor family?" Catherine curled her lips.
"...Huh?" Lilith was puzzled. How were they connected?
"I'm afraid I can't, Lilith." Catherine raised her head.
"You don't need to waste time on Guardian training, Lilith. Maybe you can learn to get along with Daniel in a friendly way. And don't worry, my previous promise to the Taylor family is still valid, and you still have a chance."
"...Do you think I joined the Guardians just to steal the limelight from the Russell family in front of you?" Lilith took a long time to digest Catherine's words, and confirmed with the princess in front of her in disbelief.
Catherine didn't say anything, but just looked over quietly. Her eyes said it all.
"I just hope I can beat him, relying on my own strength..." Lilith was explaining when a sudden flash of inspiration came to her mind. Catherine's recent indifference suddenly seemed to make sense. She looked at the girl in front of her.
"This is why we can't talk to each other lately, right? Catherine. You, you did it on purpose." Lilith suddenly understood everything.
"I just hope you can understand that you and Daniel are not in opposing positions. We can all be one family." Catherine's tone remained calm.
"...Who taught you this? Catherine." Lilith laughed in anger.
"What?" Catherine didn't understand what Lilith meant for a moment.
"Maybe I don't know you well enough, but you weren't like this before." Lilith said firmly. "Although we don't interact much, I always think we can be considered friends."
"Of course we are friends."
"If being your friend means having to be your advocate, then I'm probably not one."
"I thought we could communicate as equals and with mutual respect, instead of—"
"Dog training." Lilith looked disappointed.
Catherine didn't expect that Lilith would point out her actions so bluntly. She turned her head away, not knowing how to face Lilith's eyes.
"...I will still continue to participate in Guardian training, Catherine. I am doing it for myself, whether you believe it or not." Lilith said firmly.
"I have to go to the Stargazing Castle to look for Teacher Jacqueline. Excuse me, Your Majesty." Lilith's originally excited mood fell to the bottom. She concealed the emotions in her eyes, and without waiting for Catherine's response, she took the lead to say goodbye and left along the same path.
…………
"Tick-tick-tick-"
Jacqueline walked in the empty and dark corridor. As she got closer and closer to the door in front of her that was shining with light, humid water vapor hit her face and the sound of water dripping became clearer and clearer.
"Creaky--" Jacqueline pushed open the heavy wooden door. This was a place that students could not enter. There were huge bookcases everywhere, but most of the bookshelves were empty. The ripples of water were projected from the transparent dome constructed by magic above, making the whole room under the sparkling light and shadow, blue and green, like an underwater world.
Jacqueline looked around and found the black-haired young man lying on the edge of the huge pool. He was wearing a thin white shirt that was almost completely soaked by the water, but he didn't care at all and just casually used his hands to touch the water surface.
"Good evening, Jacqueline." The black-haired man did not turn around, but he called out the visitor's name accurately. This place was so big and empty that when he spoke, it was as if he was in an empty swimming pool, with an ethereal echo.
"Good evening, Simon." Jacqueline smiled warmly.
"It's the weekend, why don't you drink with them? I heard that you invented a new card game, which is very popular in the city of Goletia." Simon's green eyes looked even more charming in the waves of light in the room.
Jacqueline waved her hand modestly, "I didn't invent it. A lovely student taught me. In fact, I'm here today for her, the girl named Lilith."
Simon thought about it carefully and finally realized who it was. "Lilith, it turned out to be her."
"Everyone said that he was your student, so I thought it necessary to inform you. The child came to me today and said that he wanted to give up the divination class and spend his time learning combat skills with Wolf."
When Simon heard that Lilith was his student, he just smiled and did not deny it. "You can make your own decision on this matter, Jacqueline."
"That's true...but I'm a little concerned about that child." Jacqueline looked confused. "She has never been able to get started with divination. Out of curiosity, I have also tried to do divination for her, but no matter what method I use...I can't see anything. I can't see anything."
Simon finally looked back, his wet shirt dripping with water as he turned around, soaking the floor beneath his feet.
"Can't you see it?" Simon seemed to have finally heard something interesting, and curled his lips. With the clear water behind him, he looked like a water monster that had just learned to transform into a human form, and would drag the traveler into the pool and drown him in the next moment. "Then just..."
"Wow—"
There was a sound of running water coming from behind Simon.
He immediately turned around and saw a huge, gorgeous pink and blue fish tail slap the water surface, swaying and sinking, and disappearing without a trace.
"She looks in good spirits." Jacqueline's thoughts were interrupted by the noise. She walked to the edge of the pool, ignoring the water stains on the ground that wet her cloth boots. She leaned over to look inside, but she only saw a pool of deep blue. The owner of the fish tail was gone again.
"Well, after the weather got cooler, she became more energetic and her appetite was much better. She even came up to me and talked to me once, chatting about the weather..." When talking about things he cared about, Simon suddenly spoke more and his tone was no longer low.
Jacqueline looked at Simon's profile quietly, her eyes kind and compassionate. After a long while, she finally patted Simon's shoulder gently and said, "Relax a little, Simon. Maybe you should have a drink with us and try our new game? I bet you can beat them by a lot."
Simon felt Jacqueline's concern, nodded, took Jacqueline's hand, and teleported away from this sparkling space with her.
