The outskirts of Shelley Township are peaceful and tranquil.

The afternoon sun seemed to be lackluster, casting a dull shadow over the small town, without noticing that a dark cloud was slowly covering it.

"Patta, patta..." The rain fell without any warning, and seemed to be getting heavier and heavier.

Under a big banyan tree on the outskirts of Shelley Town Forest, a figure finally decided to move. A little girl in a green skirt was lying under the huge banyan tree, almost buried by the lush weeds. She hadn't fully woken up from her nap yet, but she had to sit up because of the raindrops.

"Well, summer rain really comes without warning." Lilith lazily shook off the leaves on her skirt, wiped her face with her skirt, and stood up with the help of a tree. After she stood up, she looked around and finally found the small basket she brought on a tree stump not far away. She opened it and saw that it was empty. Lilith pouted without any surprise.

Closing the basket and shaking her arms which were a little numb from sleep, Lilith said loudly, "It's raining, let's go home!"

She had only taken two steps when a huge lotus leaf suddenly fell from above her head and hit her lightly on the head. Lilith let out an exaggerated cry and looked around, and sure enough, she saw the bushes behind her on the right shake.

Lilith picked up the lotus leaves, which looked like they had just been picked. There was no lotus pond nearby, and the nearest lake was in the deepest part of the forest. But it had just rained, and a kind little guy picked some for her.

Well, although her "little friends" don't like to talk to her now, at least the friendship they have built over the years is still there. Lilith sighed, raised the lotus leaf and walked out of the forest.

The town in the distance was covered by the rain, but it was not blurry. On the contrary, because of the flourishing plants in summer, the rain washed it with bright green everywhere, making the stone houses look warm and lovely. The forest behind was even more beautiful with a thin mist rising in the rain, which did not seem like the real world.

In the past, Lilith loved to see such scenery. As long as she was not in school, the town and the forest were her daily itinerary. But now she was a little absent-minded...

Walking slowly to the entrance of the town, the most eye-catching building in front was the church of the Church of Light. Lilith lowered her brows, grasped the hem of her skirt, and tried to walk quickly into the town.

"Lilith!" But the god of luck did not favor her. She walked to the stall in front of the church. The local pastor of the church happened to be sending the blacksmith couple from the town out. When he saw her, he smiled and called out to her.

Lilith pulled down the lotus leaf to cover her face and sighed heavily, then turned around and smiled: "Good day, Mr. Aldington, may the light be with you."

"The light is everywhere." Oldington walked into the rain, smiled and touched Lilith's forehead with his hand.

Lilith was so frightened that she almost immediately knelt down to greet him when Aldington touched her hair. She tried hard to control her body movements so as not to be too exaggerated, and then responded devoutly: "Thank you for your blessing, sir."

The pastor seemed not to notice Lilith's little action. He smiled at the little girl in front of him and greeted her lovingly, "Do you have too much homework recently, Lilith? You didn't come to church last Sunday. If Miss Mary assigned you too many ladylike homework, I can help you talk to her."

"It's not Mary's fault." Lilith wrinkled her nose in distress. "Although identifying spices and weaving fabrics is really boring, I still learned it quickly."

"Teacher Kenny assigned a lot of reading notes for extracurricular readings this semester, and they had to be handed in before the end of the semester, but I completely forgot about it and didn't write any of them. I also have daily homework to do, so I can only read hard on the weekends." Lilith sighed exaggeratedly -

"You know, sir, Mr. Kenny once tutored my mother. I don't want to be mocked by him as the unlearned Miss Shelley. Other subjects don't matter, I want to get full marks in this class this time!"

Oldington nodded with amusement, "Well, you will definitely get full marks this time. I'll wait for you to tell me your good results. I will also pray to God for you." Then he stepped aside and asked, "Do you want to borrow my umbrella? There are always umbrellas left behind by careless guys in the church. You can use it first."

"No, no, I like this one," Lilith pointed to the emerald green lotus leaf above her head, smiled and winked mischievously, "but it's not very durable. I have to go home quickly, sir, bye!"

"Goodbye, Miss Lilith. Although academic studies are important, please take care of your health and wait for the light to lead you." The pastor in a white robe stepped out of the rain, stood back on the steps of the church and watched her leave.

Lilith turned her head and couldn't help but touch her pounding heart. She put away her smile and slowly walked towards home.

"Oh, God of Light! Some people finally remembered the way home." As expected, the maid Mary was showing exaggerated concern as soon as she entered the room. Although Lilith came back all wet and her beautiful dress that she had only worn once was wrinkled, Mary could not say a word of blame after all. She quickly got some hot water and food for her lady to change and wash.

Lilith couldn't get a word in during Mary's nagging. She could only take a shower and eat. The fragrant garlic butter bread, the spicy sausages fried until the casings burst, and the hot mushroom soup were all Mary's specialties.

After she finally returned to her room, changed into pajamas, and announced that she was going to read, Mary finally calmed down, helped her light a few more candles, kissed her little face, and told her not to stay up late before leaving Lilith's room.

Lilith lay quietly on the bed, looking at the raindrops hitting the glass outside the window, and couldn't help thinking about the church.

How could she dare to go to church now? She had lived happily in this world for eleven years, attending church services with the adults every week and praying to the God of Light. But who would have thought that just a few days ago, after her twelfth birthday, some memories slowly appeared in Lilith's mind, and she suddenly discovered -

She seems to have traveled through time!!
