HP: Let professors walk towards the light
Chapter 69 Lockhart Wants to Escape
The team of five people walking on the road was indeed quite conspicuous, and Harry didn't want Malfoy and the others to know about his invisibility cloak, so he could only quietly avoid the teacher's patrol and found an empty classroom on the fourth floor to hide in.
"Harry, we don't know how to open the Chamber of Secrets, and there are three of them. Are you sure we can defeat them?" Ron waved the wand that was barely keeping itself alive with the help of tape.
"We'll just have to try it first," said Harry.
"This feels so weird, with Malfoy around," said Ron disgustedly.
"Potter, you'd better tell us something useful, otherwise you will pay the price for your actions today. I advise you not to think that we are even now." Draco warned.
Ron looked at Harry, about to say something, but Harry shook his head at him.
"Hagrid didn't open the Chamber of Secrets. Not fifty years ago, and not now."
"Do you think we will believe that the half-giant is the heir of Slytherin? This is not useful information." Blaise crossed his arms and looked disdainful.
"Ridiculous, stupid." Theodore leaned against the door and stared at Lockhart's office through the crack, not even looking at them.
"You..." Ron almost jumped up, and Harry had to hold him back.
"It sounds like you know who the heir is?" Harry asked.
"The problem is, if there really is such a person in Slytherin, we wouldn't have known about it until now. Malfoy, Nott, Parkinson, Bulstrode, and Greengrass are all famous pure-blood families. I've also checked those half-bloods, and there's none." Blaise explained, but he was talking to Draco.
"It seems you didn't find anything useful." Ron sneered.
"At least it's more useful than yours." Draco snorted.
"There's a basilisk in the chamber."
"Bassilisk? Are you sure Lockhart didn't make this up?" Draco rarely showed a puzzled expression in front of Harry.
"I can speak Parseltongue, and I've heard him speak," said Harry.
"What did you say?" Blaise asked immediately.
"It's nothing more than killing people, drinking blood, tearing and tearing and so on." Harry shrugged helplessly.
"Can you control snakes?" Theodore suddenly remembered the last duel club.
"I don't know if that counts as control, but we can talk. Ah, that time in the Dueling Club I just wanted the snake to leave." Harry explained quickly.
"So why on earth do you know Parseltongue?" Draco walked up to him and looked him up and down.
"If only I knew, why were you staring at Lockhart?"
"Lockhart is closely related to Reina's affairs," said Draco.
"He's opening the door." After saying that, Theodore opened the door and ran out, and Draco and Blaise quickly followed him out.
Harry and Ron looked confused, but chose to follow behind.
After Lockhart had packed his luggage, he was dragging it clumsily towards the door when he heard a voice behind him.
"Where are you going, Professor, with all this heavy luggage, at this late hour?"
Several people led by Draco blocked the door, and everyone pointed their wands at Lockhart. Harry and Ron also walked in and stood by. When they saw Lockhart's packed luggage, they couldn't help but feel disgusted and grabbed their wands.
"You're not going to the Chamber of Secrets? What about Lena?" Harry asked anxiously.
"This... this is really unfortunate. I quite like that child. No one is sadder than me, but..." Lockhart tried to rush out, but Theodore closed the door directly. Several people took a few steps forward, forcing Lockhart to step back.
"You're the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor! You can't leave!" Harry shouted.
"When I applied... this wasn't mentioned in the job requirements..." Lockhart said vaguely.
"Don't you understand, Potter?" Draco sneered, "He is just a cowardly loser, and now the loser has packed his bags and is going home."
"Those heroic deeds..." Harry found it a little hard to believe. At least in his mind, Lockhart should have the qualities and abilities that a professor should have, otherwise Dumbledore would not have recruited him.
"Use your brain. If people don't think it was me, I won't sell half of my books. No one wants to read the stories of those old American wizards. He did defeat the werewolves and saved the village, but his dress taste was terrible. That witch? She did drive away the goblins, but she still had a cleft lip. In that case, why not let the handsome and talented Gerald Lockhart come..."
"So you replaced them? That's so shameless." Bryce said with disgust.
"You think that's easy, but it's not. I still need to track, observe, ask in a humbly manner, and perfect every detail. Success requires hard work, doesn't it?" Lockhart showed a proud smile. "Finally, give them a 'Forgetfulness Spell' so that they won't remember what they have done. And I, I still need to do all kinds of follow-up procedures. This is not that easy, kids."
Lockhart whipped out his wand and pointed it at them. "I thought I'd show you my secrets, too. I guess I wouldn't tell anyone about them. Otherwise, my next book about Hogwarts won't sell."
"Expelliarmus." Harry roared, and Ron grabbed Lockhart's wand and threw it out of the window. Lockhart was shocked and stepped back, tripping over the suitcase and falling to the ground.
"Not bad." Draco glanced at Harry, who was still pointing his wand at Lockhart.
"Harry, I never thought you would be with the Slytherins." Lockhart slumped to the ground.
"Now, tell me, dear Professor Lockhart." Draco stepped forward, his wand almost touching Lockhart's head.
"Tell me everything you did to Reina, and the secret room. Tell me everything, without missing a word."
Bryce and Theodore also stepped forward, and several people surrounded Lockhart. Lockhart, without a weapon, leaned timidly against the suitcase.
"I...I didn't do anything..."
"Does it take some tricks to get me to speak? This is good, Blaise—"
The tip of Blaise's wand seemed to glow faintly.
"Speak! I'll tell you, I'll tell you." Lockhart quickly blocked his voice with his hands.
"That day...that day she came to me first - really! I'm telling the truth!" Lockhart shouted, looking at Draco's face full of disbelief.
"Keep going!" Draco yelled.
"That night, Reina said she was in trouble. Since I was the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts, she hoped that I could help her solve the problem. Of course, I was willing to do so. It is the professor's duty to help students. Then she took out a diary and said that there was something wrong with it and asked me to help her take a look. She opened the diary and wrote something on it. I saw that all the words she wrote were absorbed by the diary and disappeared. Then other words appeared. I was absolutely sure that the diary was talking to her. Yes, you heard it right. It was talking to Reina like a person."
