HP: Let professors walk towards the light

Chapter 65 Emergency Situation

"It's been sunny these past few days, perfect weather for a Quidditch game!"

In the hall, Wood said enthusiastically as he distributed eggs and steaks to each Gryffindor player.

"Harry, eat more... Angelina, you eat too little. What if you faint from hypoglycemia... George, don't sleep, eat quickly." He was busy running around like a nanny.

"Oliver, George is eating here and not sleeping."

"George" held up his fork and nudged "Fred" who was dozing off next to him.

"Ron, isn't Hermione coming to dinner?" Harry asked.

"She's still in the dormitory. You go train first. I'll wait for her here." Ron gnawed on a chicken leg.

"Listen, we must win the game against Hufflepuff tomorrow. We will train until noon today. You should rest well for the rest of the time and get enough energy." Wood said as he walked.

The players were training on the Quidditch field according to Wood's requirements.

Just then, Professor McGonagall came over and asked Wood to call everyone together, including those in the audience.

"Now, everyone follow me back to the castle and go to your respective common rooms."

"What happened? We still have to train and have a game tomorrow." Wood asked.

"Wood, I regret to inform you that tomorrow's Quidditch must be cancelled." Professor McGonagall led the students on the field towards the castle.

"Why? Quidditch can't be cancelled. What about the House Cup?" Wood retorted as he walked beside Professor McGonagall, but Professor McGonagall ignored him and continued to walk forward quickly and firmly, leading all the students who were strolling and basking in the sun on the road back.

After entering the castle, Harry also saw Professor Sprague leading a small team back from outside, perhaps from the greenhouse. The students outside were gathering towards the castle.

"All students are to return to their respective lounges and await instructions from their respective deans, and faculty and staff are to await notification of the meeting."

In the castle, Professor McGonagall's notification could be heard in every corner, and the prefects led the students back to their colleges in an orderly manner.

"Potter, I think you need to come with me first..."

When Harry was wondering why Professor McGonagall suspected him, he found that Professor McGonagall took him to the hospital wing.

"This will be a great shock to you, and we think you should go and see it..."

Professor McGonagall spoke in an extremely gentle tone that had never been heard before. She looked at Harry sadly and slowly opened the door. Harry suddenly felt a chill on his back and his stomach ached. He walked in.

In the hospital wing, Headmaster Dumbledore, Professor Snape, and Professor Lockhart stood aside. Malfoy with platinum hair stood beside the bed with his back to the door. Ron with red hair sat beside another bed with his head down.

Madam Pomfrey was busying herself between the two beds.

When Harry walked up to them, he suddenly saw Rena and Hermione lying on the hospital beds.

"Albus..." Professor McGonagall walked up to Dumbledore.

"Thank you for your hard work, Minerva." Dumbledore seemed to be in a bad mood.

"What on earth is going on?" Harry's voice trembled, he couldn't believe what he saw.

Hermione's whole body was stiff, her arms stretched toward the end of the bed, her mouth slightly open, her eyes full of panic and fear, exactly like Mrs. Norris that night.

Hermalena on the next bed also had a pale face. Unlike Hermione, she was slumped on the bed with her eyes closed, and she didn't look much better.

"I found the two of them in the women's restroom on the third floor. I was looking for Reina, and the place was full of water. I went in and saw both of them in the water."

Malfoy spoke slowly. Harry was sure that he had never seen Malfoy like this before. He was not as arrogant and contemptuous of him as before, but his words revealed regret.

"Myrtle's place," Ron explained to Harry.

"Hermione, what is this..." Harry asked.

"Harry, remember what Hermione told us before?" Ron looked into Harry's eyes and spoke in a voice that only the two of them could hear.

"You mean... the basilisk?" Harry guessed.

Ron nodded, expression tense.

"It was the beast in the secret room! If I knew who the heir was, I would never let him off. He actually... actually..."

Draco clenched his fists, his teeth tingling with anger.

"We will get to the bottom of this matter," said Professor Snape, "If you find anything, please report it to us in time." He looked at the people in front of him.

As soon as the words fell, it was like a stone dropped into the water. There was no more sound and the scene was silent.

"Professor Spoutlaw's mandrake is still a while away from maturity, so we can't make an antidote now." Madam Pomfrey said, "This poor child can only maintain this for a while. When the mandrake matures, I will prepare the antidote as soon as possible."

"Please, Poppy," said Dumbledore. "Let's go."

"Malfoy, follow me." Professor Snape called Draco, and Draco followed Snape reluctantly.

"Principal Dumbledore." Harry called Dumbledore, who stopped and motioned for the other professors to leave first. Snape looked at Harry meaningfully and left with Draco.

"What's the matter, Harry?" Dumbledore looked at Harry and asked.

"Sir, I have a question for you."

"Tell me something."

"I heard that the Chamber of Secrets was opened fifty years ago, and Hagrid was expelled at that time, so I want to ask... is Hagrid really the one who opened the Chamber of Secrets? I can't believe that Hagrid would..." Harry finally asked this slightly sensitive question.

"Harry, the more critical the moment, the more you need to make the right judgment. You need to listen to others and be firm at the same time. Instead of asking me, why don't you listen to what Hagrid has to say?"

Unexpectedly, Headmaster Dumbledore did not question how he knew about the events of fifty years ago, which made Harry feel relieved. After all, they had investigated the Chamber of Secrets in private. Harry nodded.

"Mr. Potter, Mr. Weasley, follow me now, I will take you back to Gryffindor." Professor McGonagall was still waiting outside the door.

"All students must return to their dormitories before 6pm and are not allowed to leave the dormitories after 6pm. There will be a teacher accompanying you to class each time, yes, including me."

In the Slytherin common room, Snape was giving a speech.

"You are not allowed to use the bathroom or toilet without a teacher's company. Although this is strange, special circumstances will be treated specially. In addition, Quidditch training and matches will be postponed, and all evening activities will be cancelled."
