"Nangong Wan, get in the car." Nangong Xuan's voice was irresistible.

Si Yehan held Gu Wan behind him and said, "Madam Nangong, we can talk tomorrow if you have anything to say."

Nangong Xuan sneered, "President Si should worry about his own mess first. Tomorrow's headlines will definitely be exciting." She looked at her daughter, "Wanwan, Nian Nian is waiting for you."

Gu Wan stiffened at the sound of her daughter's name. She glanced at Si Yehan apologetically, "I have to go back..."

Gu Wan reluctantly let go of her hand and walked towards her mother's car. Before getting in, she glanced back at Si Yehan standing in the rain. His figure seemed so lonely and determined in the drizzle.

After the black car drove away, Si Yehan took out his phone and called Old Madam Si: "Grandma, there's a change of plan. Wanwan must be under house arrest by Nangong Xuan..."

In the penthouse suite of the Imperial Hotel, Mu Rui was shouting into her phone, "You said you'd make sure everything was foolproof! But now I've become the biggest joke in Hai City!" A female voice calmly replied on the other end, "Don't worry. Haste won't get you anywhere. While there may be some twists and turns along the way, the outcome won't change—Si Yehan will be yours sooner or later."

Gu Wan stood in front of the window of the bedroom on the second floor of the Nangong family's old house. Her slender fingers gently pushed aside a corner of the heavy curtains, and her eyes looked through the iron railings at the gate in the distance.

It has been five days since she was placed under house arrest by her mother Nangong Xuan on the pretext of "protection".

Outside the window, the setting sun gilded the ancient Nangong family buildings, but it couldn't illuminate Gu Wan's gloomy heart. She was wrapped in only a thin silk nightgown, the collar of which faintly showed the red mark left by the argument with her mother three days ago.

"Miss, it's time to take a bath." The maid's respectful voice outside the door interrupted her thoughts.

Gu Wan let go of the curtains, and the fabric slid silently back into place, blocking out the last ray of light. "I see," she replied softly, her voice tinged with fatigue.

The bathroom was filled with steam. Gu Wan stood under the shower, the warm water washing away her tense nerves. She closed her eyes and let the water flow over her face, unable to tell whether it was water or tears.

Since returning to the Nangong family, she has been like a bird locked in a golden cage, losing her freedom.

"Yehan..." She silently called out her lover's name, her fingers unconsciously tracing the now-faded kiss mark on her collarbone. It was the kiss Si Yehan had left in the rain when she was brought back to the Nangong family. Now, it was her only comfort.

At the same time, outside the Nangong family's gate, a tall figure in a security uniform was looking down at the entry and exit registration form. The wide brim of his hat obscured his sharp features, but it couldn't hide the innate sense of oppression.

"New here? I haven't seen you before." The guard at the door looked at the unfamiliar face suspiciously.

"I'm temporarily transferred here to cover for Mr. Zhang. Something happened at home." The man answered in a low voice and handed over a forged work ID.

The guard glanced at them casually and waved them off. "Go patrol the East District. We're short on manpower there."

The man—actually Si Yehan in disguise—let out a barely perceptible sigh of relief and stepped into the cage that held his beloved.

He hadn't received any news from her for five days. The Nangong family isolated her from the outside world like an iron wall.

And at this moment, he finally found a way to meet Gu Wan.

Under the guise of patrol, Si Yehan familiarized himself with the Nangong family's internal security arrangements. The chaos during the evening shift change gave him an opportunity, and he stole a set of keys from a drunken guard. By nightfall, he was standing at the corner of the hallway outside Gu Wan's bedroom.

"Wait ten more minutes." He glanced at his watch, calculating the time between patrols. Those ten minutes felt like an eternity.

In the bathroom, Gu Wan turned off the faucet and reached for a towel. Just then, she heard the sound of a door closing outside.

"Is Nian Nian back from school?" she asked softly, tying her towel and stepping out of the shower. Her daughter Nian Nian was her only comfort these days, and at least Nangong Xuan wasn't cruel enough to prevent them from seeing each other.

no respond.

Gu Wan was about to ask again when she was suddenly hugged tightly from behind by a pair of strong arms. She opened her eyes wide in fear and was about to scream when a familiar big hand covered her mouth in time.

"Wanwan, I miss you so much." Si Yehan's deep voice rang in her ears, his warm breath brushing against her sensitive earlobe.

Gu Wan's body softened instantly, and she turned to face the man she'd been dreaming about day and night. "Yehan! Why are you..." She couldn't finish her words before Si Yehan's hot lips pressed against hers.

The kiss, tinged with the longing for their separation and the suppressed desire of days, was so intense it nearly suffocated Gu Wan. Her towel began to loosen, but she didn't care. Si Yehan's hands roamed over her smooth back, pressing her closer to him.

"Are you crazy? It's too dangerous here..." Gu Wan panted in between kisses, but her hands involuntarily climbed up his shoulders.

"I miss you so much I'm going crazy." Si Yehan's voice was hoarse. He picked up Gu Wan and placed her on the sink. The cold surface of the sink formed a sharp contrast with her fiery skin.

Just as the two were lost in passion, footsteps suddenly sounded outside the door, followed by Nangong Xuan's cautious inquiry: "Wanwan, are you in there?"

Gu Wan's body froze instantly, but Si Yehan seemed unconcerned about the imminent danger. Instead, he kissed her neck even more wantonly, one hand restlessly exploring downwards.

"Mom, I'm... taking a shower. What's wrong?" Gu Wan tried hard not to make any strange noises, digging her fingers deeply into Si Yehan's arm.

Nangong Xuan frowned and didn't leave immediately. "Are you okay? What's that noise inside?"

Si Yehan intensified his attack upon hearing this. His lips traced down Gu Wan's collarbone, his other hand covering her mouth to prevent her from screaming. Gu Wan's legs involuntarily wrapped around his waist, her body betraying her rationality.

"It's okay, I just bumped into something by accident, it's nothing serious." Gu Wan struggled to keep her voice steady, while using her eyes to warn Si Yehan to stop.

"How about I come in and take a look?" Nangong Xuan's voice was filled with suspicion.

“No need!” Gu Wan refused so quickly that she almost exposed her nervousness. She hurriedly changed the subject: “Is Nian Nian not back yet?”

"On the way back, I should be home soon."

"How about... you go down and take a look?"

“Okay.”

Hearing Nangong Xuan's footsteps fade away, Si Yehan immediately unbuttoned his uniform. Before Gu Wan could protest, he ripped off her towel and kissed her again, this time even more brazenly.
