Gu Wan opened her mouth but couldn't say anything. He had just proposed, so why was the wedding so soon? Besides, her memory hadn't fully recovered yet, and she couldn't even remember how they met in the first place.

But a voice deep inside screamed for agreement, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

"But... my memory..."

"The memory will come back." Si Yehan interrupted her, caressing her cheek with his fingers. "But even if it doesn't come back, we can still create new memories. Wanwan, how about tomorrow? I don't want to wait any longer."

Gu Wan looked at the determination and fragility in his eyes, and her heart softened. This man was cold and ruthless in front of outsiders, but he gave all his tenderness to her. Even after she lost her memory, he never gave up on her.

"Wedding dress... venue... guests..." She tried to come up with a reasonable reason to object, but her voice became smaller and smaller.

"Everything is ready." Si Yehan showed a smug smile, "I have been preparing since the first day I brought you to the villa. I am just waiting for your nod."

Gu Wan looked at him in surprise: "Are you so sure that I will agree?"

"Not sure." Si Yehan said honestly, "But I am willing to wait until the day you fall in love with me again, or until the day your memory is restored." He paused, "But now I don't want to wait anymore. After last night, I'm sure you don't either."

Gu Wan's face turned red again. She really couldn't deny that even though she had lost her memory, her heart and her body had already identified with this man.

Si Yehan took out a tablet from the bedside table and opened a folder. "This is the wedding dress designed by your favorite designer in your style. Do you think there is anything that needs to be changed?" He showed it to her. "By the way, do you remember him?"

Gu Wan looked at the name below the elegant fishtail wedding dress on the screen and suddenly felt dizzy, with a painful expression on her face.

"Don't think about it, just forget it." Si Yehan hugged her tightly, "Tomorrow, we will get married. Let the whole world know that you are my wife, Si Yehan."

Gu Wan looked up at his expectant eyes and finally nodded slowly: "Okay."

Si Yehan's expression brightened instantly, as if he had received the most precious gift in the world. He lowered his head and kissed her. This kiss was gentle and cherishing, completely different from the madness of last night.

"I love you, Gu Wan." He whispered into her lips, "Whether I have memories or not, I will always love you."

Gu Wanhui hugged him, feeling the happiness overflowing in her heart. Maybe memory can deceive people, but heartbeat, body and love will not.

Tomorrow, she would become Si Yehan's bride, and this time, she would never forget it.

At 10:30 in the morning, the sun shone through the French windows onto Gu Wan's wedding dress, and the tiny rhinestones reflected a rainbow-like halo. She gently stroked the lace on the wedding dress, and suddenly felt a void in her heart.

"Uncle Wu," Gu Wan put down the bouquet in her hand and turned to Assistant Wu who was sorting out the wedding invitations, "Do you remember Bai Xiaolu? My best friend in college."

Assistant Wu was surprised at first, because this was the first time she called him that after she lost her memory. Then he stopped what he was doing and said, "Ms. Gu Wan, are you thinking of Miss Bai?"

"Well, I remember that she was my best friend." Gu Wan's fingertips unconsciously stroked the screen of the phone, "I wanted to invite her to the wedding, but her phone number was not accessible."

The housekeeper looked embarrassed and said, "Miss Bai hasn't appeared for a long time since you lost your memory last time. I heard that she moved to the north last week."

Gu Wan's heart suddenly sank. She flipped through the photo album of her college days in her space album. In the photo, two girls leaned their heads against each other, smiling brightly under the cherry tree. Bai Xiaolu had a ponytail and her eyes were curved into crescents, while she herself had shoulder-length hair and baby fat on her cheeks.

"We must find her." Gu Wan's voice was light but firm, "She is my most important friend."

Gu Wan immediately mentioned this to Si Yehan. Si Yehan was outside having a video conference, and he ended the meeting immediately after hearing this, with a hint of complex emotions flashing in his deep eyes.

"Bai Xiaolu." He repeated the name, tapping the table with his fingers. "Okay, I'll send someone to find him right away."

At 3:18 pm, the people sent by the Si family found Bai Xiaolu in her hometown and brought her to Hai City. When a familiar yet unfamiliar voice came from the other end of the phone, Gu Wan almost burst into tears.

"Xiaolu, it's me." Her voice was trembling. "I'm getting married and I want to invite you to the wedding."

There was silence on the other end of the phone for a long time, so long that Gu Wan thought the signal was cut off. Finally, Bai Xiaolu's voice came through, with obvious sobs: "Okay... Let's meet."

They met at the restaurant they often went to in college. Gu Wan arrived half an hour early and chose her old seat by the window on the second floor. The place was almost unchanged—the wooden tables and chairs, the hand-painted menus, and even the pot of green ivy on the windowsill was the same one she had when she graduated.

A breeze blew by, and Gu Wan looked up and saw a thin figure standing at the door. Bai Xiaolu had a neat short haircut, and was wearing a simple white T-shirt and jeans. Her eyes had lost their former brilliance. Her eyes met Gu Wan's, and her eyes instantly turned red.

There was no cheering, no hugging. Bai Xiaolu almost fell down on the chair opposite Gu Wan, tears streaming down her face.

"Wanwan, I'm sorry..." Her voice was broken, "It's all my fault... I shouldn't have trusted Jin Han... I became an accomplice in causing you to lose your memory..."

Gu Wan was stunned. She really had no memory of this period.

"What accomplice? What are you talking about?" Gu Wan frowned in confusion, "I only remember what happened before we graduated from college, and then..."

Bai Xiaolu closed her eyes in pain: "It's all my fault... It's me... I deserve to die..." After a while, she took out her cell phone from her bag with trembling hands, "Maybe this can help you."

The screen was playing a replay of Si Yehan's interview with a financial channel. The man in front of the camera was wearing a neat suit, with a rare gentle expression on his well-defined face.

"I met my wife when I was eighteen, and she was only six at the time. I never thought that she would become the young mistress of our Si family." Si Yehan's voice was low and gentle, "But the beginning of our marriage should be the day she graduated. I asked her for a favor..."

Gu Wan's heart skipped a beat. This scene was strangely familiar, yet it seemed blurry, as if it was separated by a layer of frosted glass.

Si Yehan continued to narrate the story. Gu Wan's memories came flooding back.

Her temple was throbbing - that rainy night, Jin Han's hideous face, being imprisoned in the room, and then the long darkness... When she woke up, she had forgotten almost everything.

"Xiaolu..." Gu Wan's voice trembled, "What happened that night?"
