Keeping the promise

The next morning, sunlight shone through the thin curtains, casting patches of light into the room.

Zheng Wancheng got up early and carefully prepared everything for Li Yunxuan. She looked at Li Yunxuan's childish but somewhat stubborn face, feeling reluctant to let him go.

Zheng Wancheng looked at the stubborn man and smiled: "This is the first time I bring you back to my hometown to meet my parents. Aren't you afraid that they will be dissatisfied with you?"

They walked into the village along the winding path and met many familiar faces along the way.

The old people greeted each other warmly, and the children looked around curiously. Zheng Wancheng responded to everyone with a smile, his heart full of emotion.

Walking into her own courtyard, Zheng Wancheng seemed to see herself playing and laughing here when she was a child. Li Yunting quietly stayed by her side, feeling her mood at the moment.

When he walked into his own courtyard, Zheng Wancheng's father came out to greet him. Li Yunting's heartbeat became faster and faster, and his palms were sweaty. He tried to calm himself down, forced a smile on his face, and shouted respectfully: "Hello, uncle!"

Zheng Chenglin, Zheng's father, was tall and had a serious expression. His eyes were as sharp as torches as he looked Li Yunting up and down.
