Keeping the promise

Zheng Wancheng woke up slowly and stretched lazily. She opened her eyes drowsily and looked at the setting sun outside the window. She actually slept until the afternoon.

She got up, washed up briefly, went downstairs and ate something to fill her stomach.

The afternoon sun shone through the window into the room, giving everything a warm golden edge. Zheng Wancheng walked to the desk and turned on the computer that had been with her for a long time.

Her fingers tapped lightly on the keyboard, and the document on the screen was blank, waiting to be filled with her thoughts.

A brand new novel idea came to her like a tide, her heart beat faster and her excitement was beyond words.

Zheng Wancheng quickly grabbed the pen and paper beside him and quickly wrote down the ideas in his mind.

The character settings, the direction of the plot, the climax conflict, each idea flowed from the pen and gradually formed the outline of a novel.

She is immersed in the world of creation, as if everything around her no longer exists, and only the stories she writes continue to grow and expand.

Just as she was immersed in the joy of creation, a knock on the door broke the silence.

When Butler Li opened the door, he saw his good friend Qin Huaifeng standing outside, with his lively and lovely son beside him. Qin Huaifeng smiled and said, "Sister-in-law, Xiaoxuan is here for you."

Zheng Wancheng greeted Qin Huaifeng warmly: "Don't stand at the door, come in and sit down! Yun Ting went to the company to deal with some finishing work today, but he should be back soon, so stay and have dinner with us."

After all, it was New Year, so Qin Huaifeng couldn't refuse. He sat down on the sofa in the living room and chatted with Zheng Wancheng.

"How have you been lately?" Zheng Wancheng asked.

As they were talking, the doorbell rang again. Zheng Wancheng was delighted, "It must be Yun Ting who is back."

She walked quickly to the door, opened it, and saw the familiar figure of Li Yunting.

"You're back." Zheng Wancheng's face was filled with a happy smile.

Li Yunting walked into the house, saw Qin Huaifeng and his son, and greeted them with a smile.

"Yes, I just had a sudden inspiration and wrote an outline for a novel, and then Qin Huaifeng sent the children back, so I invited them to have dinner together." Zheng Wancheng explained.

Li Yunting nodded, "Yeah, it's been a long time since we last met."

Everyone sat around the dining table, the aroma of food filling the room. The dishes carefully prepared by Mrs. Zhang were delicious, and the sight of them made people hungry.

In the Li family's dining room, the lighting was soft and warm. A family of four sat around the dining table, enjoying a delicious dinner.

Li Yunxuan excitedly recounted the interesting things that happened in school. His vivid descriptions and humorous language made everyone laugh from time to time.

"Today, a classmate in our class was caught sleeping in class by the teacher. The teacher asked him to stand up and answer a question, but he mumbled, 'I dreamed that I turned into a loaf of bread!'" Li Yunxuan said as he gestured to imitate the classmate, causing Zheng Wancheng to laugh out loud.

Li Yunting also smiled at his son, his eyes full of love. Zheng Wancheng gently patted Li Yunxuan on the shoulder and said with a smile: "Don't just tell jokes, eat quickly, otherwise the food will get cold." Li Yunxuan stuck out his tongue mischievously, then obediently picked up the chopsticks and started eating.

The dining table was filled with laughter as the family enjoyed their dinner happily. The scene was full of warmth and happiness.

After dinner, Qin Huaifeng stayed for a while and then went back. Zheng Wancheng and Li Yunting took Li Yunxuan to set off fireworks in the yard. The colorful fireworks bloomed in the night sky, lighting up the entire yard.

Li Yunxuan clapped his hands and cheered. Zheng Wancheng and Li Yunting smiled at each other, their eyes filled with beautiful visions of the future.

As the last firework bloomed in the sky, Li Yunting hugged Li Yunxuan and coaxed him to sleep softly. Zheng Wancheng returned to the study, sat at the desk, turned on the computer and continued to improve her novel.

It was late at night, and everything was quiet. The only sounds in the study were the sound of Zheng Wancheng typing on the keyboard and the hum of the computer. Zheng Wancheng stared at the computer screen intently, his fingers quickly tapping the keyboard, turning the story in his mind into words.

As time went by, Zheng Wancheng was immersed in her own world, forgetting everything around her. She was completely immersed in the plot of the novel, as if she were in that fictional world. Every character was lifelike, and every plot was gripping.

Finally, Zheng Wancheng stopped what she was doing, leaned back in her chair, and rubbed her eyes. She stretched, yawned, and then looked at the computer screen. Looking at the densely packed text, a satisfied smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.
