Cloud Thinking
Chapter 3: Monkey Soju
Ever since Princess Helia came back from the Executive Mansion, she has been in a bad mood, as if she had lost her soul. She could always be seen in a daze. At first, she would just stare at a page for a long time without turning it. Recently, she would even be in a daze while eating. She would stop moving while walking, and even when taking a bath. If the maid hadn't noticed that the princess hadn't reacted for a long time and rushed in, Helia would have fainted.
Hegham was very worried about this. When she heard Helia's personal maid report that she didn't even sleep and stared all night, the dark circles under her eyes could hardly be covered. She thought it was time to talk to His Majesty, as Helia would not be able to bear it if she continued like this.
"Helia is always in a daze?" Claude didn't seem to be very surprised after hearing what Hegem said, and continued to read the documents calmly.
"Yes, she almost fainted while bathing, and now she can't even sleep. Princess Helia's health will be damaged if she continues like this." Heigham said seriously, "Your Majesty, please go and persuade Her Royal Highness the Princess."
"It's no use for me to persuade her. There are some things she has to think through on her own. I can't deprive her of the right to think." Claude said.
If a person has to give up even the right to think to others, what is the difference between such a person and a three-year-old baby? The sign of a person's maturity is that he can think independently and take responsibility for his own actions.
It is obvious that Helia has the ability to think independently, but she does not yet have the ability to bear the consequences of her actions, so Claude, as her father, will share the pressure with her before she grows up.
But this does not mean that she can just give the right to choose to others without even thinking.
Hegham knew Helia's temper very well. She was a somewhat stubborn child. Queen Madeleine had passed away long ago, and His Royal Highness Eric was still on patrol outside. If even His Majesty Claude couldn't persuade her, then no one could persuade her.
The small classroom in the Amber Palace was still going on. The state of Princess Helia made the atmosphere in the entire Amber Palace extremely depressed. No one dared to offend the host at this time, so those who were supposed to attend classes went to class honestly, and those who were supposed to give lectures also gave lectures honestly. For a moment, the entire palace fell into a strange harmony.
Helia had been thinking about how to improve her own value. Although she had a grasp of the plot and could predict many things, she also understood the butterfly effect. If she disrupted the subsequent plot long before the main plot began, the entire plot line would probably collapse, and the advantage she had would be completely useless.
She also wanted to build a career like Eric and tried to exercise, but she couldn't even do a push-up. When she pushed her hands up, they swayed and trembled like butterfly wings. She was the kind of person who would make others die in front of her. Forcing herself to do it would only hurt her body. Her physical condition did not allow her to do anything that required a lot of physical effort.
But she wasn't very smart. She was confident in her intelligence, but after Claude revealed her identity, she was no longer so sure. Why did she think that everyone in this world was stupid? She was just an outsider who thought that her ideas were much more advanced than those of this world, but she didn't know that she was the self-righteous fool.
I can’t do physical work, I can’t do mental work. Oh my god, when I think about it, I feel like a loser!
She couldn't take the normal path, so she could only try to find another way. Fortunately, there was something more special in this world - magic, which was something Helia didn't understand at all but was very interested in. If this path didn't work, then she could only be a princess who lived off her parents and wait until she was old enough to be sent for marriage. This was her innate value.
Although she is afraid of marriage and having children, as the saying goes, love is precious, but life is more precious. Sacrificing love in exchange for a life is still a good deal for her.
But now she is only fifteen years old, the age of a flower, she still has a lot of time to try different paths, not to mention, it's magic! Who can refuse magic!
She went to the palace library and found some books on magic, but she didn't want others to know, especially Claude, for fear that this path would not work out and she would become a laughing stock. By then, Claude would find out that she was not good at everything and would kick her out when the heroine appeared.
So, every night she waited for others to fall asleep, then read by lamplight. Because magic books were interesting and difficult, she forgot the time for several days, and when she looked up, she found that it was already dawn. She couldn't be lazy and sleep all day, but she was really sleepy, so she often daydreamed and dozed off, which was a way for her body to recover from the all-nighter.
These days she has been thinking about why she traveled through time. According to the quick-travel novels and comics she has read, time travel usually means one is dead or dying in the real world, such as the classic car accidents and sudden deaths. But there was no sign of her time travel. She was just lying at home and browsing her phone. She felt sleepy and was about to fall asleep when the phone hit her face with a bang. She opened her eyes suddenly and found that she had traveled through time. It couldn't be that the phone hit her to death!
Moreover, other people who travel through time have systems or cheat codes, but she has nothing. Apart from a memory that can save her life, aren't all other things the configuration of this identity itself? Where is her uniqueness reflected? Is it reflected in her mediocrity? Then the person who sent her through time must have a special taste.
After she finished reading the book "Introduction to Magic", she decided one night to try to open the door to magic. She knew it was crazy, but she desperately needed something to prove herself.
Taking advantage of the night, she quietly climbed out of bed, dragged out the magic materials hidden under the bed, emptied the dressing table, and threw the things on it. She secretly asked Hegme to get these materials. Although Hegme was puzzled by her request, he quickly completed it.
She followed the method described in the book, ruthlessly cut her palm with a sharp gem, drew a magic circle on kraft paper with her own blood, placed a golden and translucent magic crystal at the center of the circle, and then placed the other auxiliary materials in the appropriate positions. The initiation ceremony was ready.
Under the night light, Helia placed her right hand on her left chest, and spread her left hand wrapped in gauze above the magic circle. She closed her eyes, took a few deep breaths, and chanted a spell.
"Water of tolerance, wood of life, fire of passion, earth of stability, gold of creation, light of the sun, darkness of devouring, please cast a loving gaze upon the devout believers and guide the lost travelers on the road of hope."
As the spell was chanted, the magic circle under her left hand seemed to come alive, grabbing the magic power in the magic crystal stone at the center of the circle, fusing the dazzling gilt with Helia's blood, and bursting out a dazzling and powerful golden light. Helia could feel the pain even with her eyes closed.
In the darkness, a light suddenly illuminated the surroundings. A flaming red gate with a red sun painted on it sat on countless steps, silently expressing welcome.
Helia climbed the stairs and stopped at the magical door that welcomed her. She looked calm, put her hand on the door, and pushed it gently. Then, a ball of blazing flames inside the door swallowed her body and merged with it.
Opening her eyes, Helia felt something extra inside her body. She looked around and found many colorful dots of light floating in the air. She stretched out her hand, and those dots of light rushed towards her and gathered in her palm, with the red dots being the most numerous.
This is weird... I was clearly holding a magic crystal with light attributes, but how come I pushed open a door with fire attributes... Helia was a little confused, but this doubt was quickly diluted by the joy of stepping into the door to the magic world.
When touched, the light spots slowly penetrated into her body, flowing in her body like blood, and when she needed it, it would emerge for the use of her master.
Is this magic? Helia looked at the ball of light lingering on her fingertips with a look of joy on her face. She chased the light spots in the air with great pleasure, like a hungry wolf, greedily absorbing any light spots she could see, filling her body into a bulging balloon.
so amazing! ! !
After Helia absorbed the last point of light, her vision suddenly went dark and she felt extremely exhausted. By the time she came to her senses, she had already fallen to the ground.
So sleepy... Helia forced herself to get up, returned to the desk and put away the brown paper, which was stained with her blood. In this alien world, blood was a very special medium. In serious cases, it could even harm her life, so she couldn't let it fall into the hands of others.
The magic crystal stone dimmed after so much magic power was taken away from it. She weighed it and felt that there was very little magic power left inside. It was of no use, but she did not intend to throw it away.
After all, it was the medium that led her into the magic world, so it still had commemorative significance. She thought about it, sharpened the sharp edge of the magic crystal, found a red rope to wrap it around, and hung it around her neck.
She carries it with her as a reminder to herself not to forget her original intention.
As for the other materials, they were all absorbed by the magic circle, not even any ashes were left, so she didn't have to clean them up.
When she woke up the next day, her head felt heavy and her face was unnaturally red. The maid who called her to get up soon realized something was wrong and called a doctor, who found out that she had a fever.
How could this body be so weak... Helia complained silently in her heart.
After being unconscious for a whole day and drinking many strange medicines, her fever finally subsided. However, her body still felt weak and even raising her hand was difficult for her. Hegme was very worried.
Maybe it had been a long time since she had been sick, so she had a fever this time, which attracted the busy Claude. He brought Chico over to take a look at Helia, who was sleeping like a dead pig. Seeing that she was sleeping soundly, the two of them just watched for a while, exchanged some information with the doctor, and then left.
These are what Hegham told her after she woke up. Hegham said that Claude was actually very worried and felt sorry for Helia. Helia complained in her heart while drinking the medicine:
He was worried about nothing... He just wanted to see if she was dead or not, so that he could find a new daughter sooner...
It was unknown whether the original owner had a natural talent or whether she, a time traveler, had a golden finger. When she tried the simplest fire magic for the first time, she succeeded in one try! She was so excited that she rolled off the bed. Her leg snapped in a strange position, slightly fractured. The pain made her sweat all over her head, but she held the small flame firmly with both hands, as if it was her heirloom.
She looked at the small flame in her hand as if she was looking at a bankbook with a million dollars in it, her eyes full of surprise. She stared at it intently all night, afraid that it would go out. After all, this was the first fire she had summoned! It was of great significance!
Because of her broken leg, she has been limping these days, but even though she broke her leg, she couldn't hide her inner excitement.
Oh my god! I’m Monkey Soju! I know magic! Ahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
If anyone could hear Helia's inner voice, the entire Amber Palace would probably be filled with her arrogant and perverted laughter for the past two days.
"Helia, have you made up your mind?" It was half a month later that Claude saw Helia again. She looked much thinner, her face was still pale, and even one of her legs was a little lame. No one knew what she had done in the past half month to make herself look like this.
However, her eyes were unexpectedly firm, which made Claude very satisfied.
"Father, I want to learn magic." Helia said solemnly, but seeing that Claude and Chico's expressions hardly changed, she knew that they must have heard about the fact that she was in contact with magic books.
"The road of magic is not so easy to walk, you..." Before Claude could even say the word "sure", Helia clasped her hands in front of her chest and muttered something. Suddenly, a faint red light flashed in her palms. As she spread out her palms, a ball of burning flame rose in her hands. Although it was faint, it did exist.
