Cloud Thinking

Chapter 2 Naive Thoughts

After figuring it all out, she felt relieved and even laughed, which made Ronixi feel a little scared. He couldn't help but ask with concern: "Your Highness, are you okay?"

Helia waved her hand to indicate that she was fine. She tapped her fingers lightly on the table and lowered her eyes, obviously thinking. Ronnie didn't dare to disturb her. When her eyes passed by the book, she didn't know what she felt in her heart.

There was actually nothing wrong with Helia's action. She did it with good intentions, but the problem was that she did not understand the reality of the situation, so she was doomed to fail.

After thinking for a long time, Helia suddenly said, "Ronixi, starting tomorrow I will arrange for a palace teacher to teach you how to read."

"Your Highness Helia?" Ronnie was puzzled. He thought that Helia disliked his illiteracy and would delay his work. He explained, "I know the basic characters. This does not prevent me from working for you, Your Highness."

"No, I just need an excuse. Please follow my instructions first." Helia couldn't tell him what she was planning yet, so she had to put on the airs of a princess. "If people knew that the knight beside the princess couldn't even read, I would be embarrassed."

Ronnie thought for a moment and vaguely guessed what Helia wanted to do. He looked up at her in surprise and happened to meet Helia's eyes. The two smart people smiled at each other and understood each other's thoughts.

Luo Nixi knelt on one knee, put his right hand on his chest and his left hand behind his back, leaned forward and said loudly: "Thank you, Princess!"

Helia smiled, but didn't say anything more. She waved her hand, signaling him to leave, "Go and call Hegem for me."

Hegme is the chief steward in charge of her palace affairs. She is also a very old-fashioned and serious person. She was the personal maid of the late Queen Madeleine and had taken care of Helia since she was a child. Claude promoted her to be the housekeeper of the Amber Palace because of her hard work and great contributions.

When the original owner was a little older, she became estranged from Hegme, who was like a mother to her. She didn't like her strict discipline, nor did she like her always mentioning her deceased mother in front of her. She had mentioned to Claude many times that she wanted to replace Hegme, but the king didn't agree. After Hegme heard about it, he might have been hurt by the child he had raised since childhood, so he took the initiative to stay away from Helia. Even if there was something, he would ask the maid to convey it on his behalf.

After receiving Helia's summons, Hegham was confused and happy, but there was no joy on her face. She still had that gloomy and serious face. She walked quickly to the door of the study, tidied her clothes and hair a little, and knocked on the door.

"Come in."

When Hegham came in, Helia was the only one in the study, and the servants were nowhere to be found. She frowned and was about to call someone to scold them, but Helia stopped her in time, "I just discussed something with Knight Ronnish, so I asked the others to go down. Hegham, don't scold them."

After listening to Helia's explanation, Hegham said nothing more and bowed politely, "What do you want, Princess Helia?"

"I called you here this time because I want to discuss something with you." Helia picked up the book she had written and handed it to Heme. "This is a book I wrote for children. I would like to ask you to take a look at it first."

Hegham read it carefully and felt that the book was very well written and indeed suitable for children to read. The chubby round font looked very lively and the content of each page was just right. Children would not be bored because of too many or too dense words. The book was also accompanied by cute illustrations that could easily attract children's attention.

"Great read," praised Heigam.

"Yeah, I think it's great too." Helia smiled, but then a look of worry appeared between her brows. "My original intention in writing this book was to let more children understand the history of the Otis Empire in a simple and easy-to-understand way. But Ronishi just told me that many children from ordinary families are illiterate. Even if I print this book, not many people will buy it."

Heigam did not interrupt her, but looked at Helia seriously, wanting to hear what Her Royal Highness the Princess wanted to do.

"I just found out that Ronnie is not very literate. I picked this knight myself. If this gets out, it will be a slap in my face, right?" Helia looked uncomfortable and muttered softly, "I can imagine what those old men in the elders' council will say about me behind my back..."

"You are Her Royal Highness the Princess. I will pull out the tongue of anyone who dares to talk about you behind your back." Hegme said the scary words very seriously. Helia had no doubt that she would do so. After all, Hegme had been loyal to Madeline and Helia all her life.

"Haigum, please listen to me first." Helia realized that she had overacted and hurriedly stopped. "Actually, I was afraid of losing face. At first, I planned to secretly invite a court teacher to the Amber Palace to teach Ronnishi to read. But then I thought, aren't there many knights and palace servants of commoner origin in the court? There must be people like Ronnishi. Instead of doing it secretly, it's better to invite a teacher to give them lessons in my name."

Heigam thought about it for a long time and felt that this was not an extraordinary move. It could also promote Helia's reputation for kindness, so he nodded and said, "It's a good idea."

But before Helia could be happy, Hegham told her the cruel truth: "But the court knights probably can't bring themselves to attend the class, and the palace servants need to work every day, so how can they find the time to attend the class?"

Helia's face fell again, and seeing her pitiful appearance, Hegham couldn't help but feel sympathy. She and Her Royal Highness had maintained an awkward relationship for so long, and it was rare that Her Royal Highness took the initiative to show her intention to make peace, and she couldn't just hit her like this.

"Why not try it out on a small scale in the Amber Palace first? If it works, we can report it to His Majesty. I believe His Majesty will approve of your kind act, Princess." Hegem suggested.

"Sure!" Helia was immediately revived with full health. Seeing her so happy, Hegem's heart softened.

"I'll have to trouble Hegme to contact the palace teachers and count who in the Amber Palace are of commoner origin and how many of them are illiterate. Thank you for your hard work, Hegme." Helia was being polite. In fact, she could have given the order directly because Hegme would never refuse her, but she hoped to take the opportunity to ease her relationship with Hegme. She needed someone who would stand firmly by her side and do things for her.

Heigam sensed that she was a little awkward, and wanted to ease the relationship with her, but he couldn't lose face, so he had to test her in a polite tone. It turned out that she was still a child...

"I will do my best to complete what Her Royal Highness the Princess has asked me to do." After saying this, Hegem bowed and took her leave. With her decisive personality, she would probably see the Amber Palace classroom open tomorrow.

……

"What has Helia been busy with lately? I haven't heard from her in a while." Claude asked.

As the monarch of the Otis Empire, he sat at the table with a pile of documents in front of him, and was handling government affairs in an orderly manner. While he was looking at the documents presented to him, he took a sip of the fragrant black tea in one hand.

"Princess Helia is still busy writing children's books. However, Her Royal Highness recently had a small class set up in the Amber Palace and invited court teachers to teach the palace servants of commoner origin to read and write. The Knight of Roniche is among them." Chiko replied in detail.

He was a knight beside His Majesty, and he was also the descendant of the Grand Duke, with a distinguished status. He usually helped His Majesty handle official business, or to put it bluntly, he was just a handyman. But even so, everyone could see that His Majesty valued Chiko, because he was someone His Majesty always kept by his side, and those beautiful girls could not compare to him.

"Oh?" Claude laughed, picked up a pen and wrote his comments on the document. "It won't be long before you come to me and say you want to run a small class like this in the entire palace."

He couldn't guess what Helia was thinking. He guessed that she was worried about not being able to sell her children's books, so she decided to open a school. She would first try it in the Amber Palace, then gradually expand it to the entire palace, and finally take advantage of the situation to propose to him to build a school for civilians.

She didn't even think about whether those self-righteous nobles would agree. One word from each of them could choke her to death.

"Your Highness the Princess also wants to do something." Chike was not trying to excuse Helia, he was simply expressing his own thoughts. As for whether this matter could be accomplished, that would depend on the ability of Her Highness the Princess. But it was obvious that she, a delicate flower raised in a greenhouse, was too naive. She thought everything was so easy and was destined to fall flat on her face before she could wake up.

"So tell me, why did Helia suddenly have these thoughts?" Claude turned sideways to look at Chike and asked.

Chike thought for a moment and replied seriously: "Perhaps Your Majesty gave Princess Helia the conditions for indulgence. You allowed her to choose a civilian knight, so she took it for granted that she had the right to choose." His words were cruel enough, but also realistic enough.

"Hahaha." Claude laughed, then shook his head. "It's not because I asked her to choose a civilian knight. She seemed to be abnormal since she rejected Hutley."

Helia thought she had hidden it well, but she was surrounded by shrewd people who had seen through her tricks clearly. They just turned a blind eye to it because she didn't cause any big trouble.

"Could it be..." Qi Ke's brows furrowed deeper and deeper, as if he had thought of something bad, and his hand unconsciously touched the sword at his waist.

"You think too much. If it was really her, why would she do such naive things?" Claude clasped his hands in front of his chest, rested his arms on both sides of the chair, crossed his legs, and looked lazy. However, the cold light in his eyes also exposed his hunter nature. "Don't worry about it. It won't cause any trouble anyway. Just keep an eye on her in the future."

"Yes."

……

"Hello, Princess. You are the brightest pearl and the most beautiful rose in the Otis Empire."

Chico's sudden visit today was both within Helia's expectations and beyond her expectations. She knew Chico would definitely come, but she didn't expect him to come so early. It seemed that her emperor father still paid attention to her!

Facts have proved that habit is a terrible thing. When she first came here, Helia really couldn't accept such greetings. She felt like bugs were crawling on her body after hearing them. But now, only half a year later, she can already accept such compliments calmly.

After all, those were all facts. Helia was indeed beautiful, and she was indeed the only princess of the Otis Empire, although she would no longer be so soon.

"Good afternoon, Knight Chico, what can I do for you?" Helia picked up the teacup placed aside and brought it to her mouth. She took a sip of the fragrant black tea and felt relaxed both physically and mentally.

"Your Highness, His Majesty has sent a message to you." Chiko stood up straight, his posture was straight and upright, and he was so serious that he didn't fit in with the atmosphere of the whole room. Even his words were very formal. "His Majesty heard that Your Highness was teaching the common people to read and write, and he became interested. He asked me to invite you to the Executive Hall for a chat."

"I understand. Knight Chiko, please wait for a moment while I tidy up my appearance." Helia nodded and then got up and went back to the room with the maid. She changed into a slightly more formal dress and followed Chiko to the Executive Hall.

"Greetings, father. You are still as handsome and elegant as ever, and the greatest monarch of the Otis Empire!" Helia didn't feel embarrassed at all as she spoke in a flattering manner. She was particularly good at adapting to the local customs. She was influenced by the local customs and could say these flattering nonsense without any discomfort.

"Well, what have you been busy with recently? I haven't seen you around." Claude was still busy with the documents in his hands and said without raising his head.
