The Hero in Exile

Chapter 2: Leader Vader

"Where exactly is this place?" Lingyu couldn't believe her eyes. No matter where on Earth it was, there was no way there could be such a place. It was only possible. She looked at Vida who was gazing out the window leisurely beside her.

"My dear brave man, please don't look at me like that. I have no choice but to do it." The old man who called himself Vida spread his hands and still smiled slightly.

I can't tell what he is thinking at all. Although he looks like a kind old man, he seems to be under pressure all the time. He doesn't even have the slightest desire to escape. He is just like that madman. I swallowed my saliva. Although I don't really believe this man, there is nothing I can do about it.

"Can I go back? And can my body return to its original appearance?" After asking two tentative questions, Vida slowly turned his gaze from the window to Lingyu.

"Lord Lingyu, I am deeply sorry for this. You really cannot return to your world because you are the brave man chosen by the holy sword. After all, you also remember that you were hit and killed by a truck. How can a dead person be resurrected?" After saying this, he revealed a mysterious smile.

"What on earth are you talking about? You said the dead can't be resurrected, then why am I still standing here?" Lingyu, who was already unable to hold back her temper, exploded at this moment. She had been confused from the beginning until now, but the only thing she could believe was that this old man named Vida was in cahoots with that madman.

"It's quite troublesome to tell you all this from the beginning, but in order for you to understand the current situation, please follow me." Vida raised a hand respectfully and pointed to the other side of the church.

Although Lingyu was worried, she thought that others would go to so much trouble and that she couldn't stop him even if he wanted to do something. Looking at his slightly hunched back, she felt as if a mountain was pressing down on her.

"I say, we have come to the end, where are you taking me?" He didn't know how far he had walked. In the process, he found that he had indeed turned into a woman. He was out of breath after walking a few steps. Vida seemed relaxed and comfortable without feeling tired at all. As a result, Vida had to stop and wait for himself, although he was unwilling to be waited for by an old man.

Although I don't know what I look like now, why is this hair so annoying! Lingyu thought to herself, it always feels weird to have long hair hitting my shoulders, and since the hair on my forehead blocks my vision, can't I just have a male body?

"Okay, we're here." Vida stopped at the end of the corridor.

"Ah? I only see a wall here. You can't tell me that there's a reason written on the wall." Lingyu thought that she had walked a long way and ended up seeing this thing.

"Where is it? People get old and their memory is not good." Vida ignored Lingyu's complaints and fumbled with each brick on the wall. Lingyu wanted to see what tricks he could come up with.

"Found it." Vida pressed on a rather inconspicuous brick, and the brick was dented by the slight push.

A basement slowly appeared under the opposite wall. Although Lingyu was curious about this thing, she did not react too much. After all, this kind of thing was considered child's play on TV.

Afterwards, Lingyu followed behind Vida. After walking for a while, he was covered with dust, which showed that few people had been here. However, from the narrow entrance at the beginning, it was unexpectedly wide inside.

Vida walked forward holding the candle without saying a word. Lingyu found that the further he walked inside, the more murals on the wall beside him there were. They were all similar to stick figures. One of them had white wings and stabbed a spear into the chest of a man with horns on his head. These should be angels and demons. Lingyu looked at the murals on the wall. There were many similar words beside them. There were also many people who looked like ordinary people. There were also demons opposite them. Some creatures that looked different from humans and demons were fighting.

"The brave man has arrived." Vida's words brought Lingyu back from his thoughts on the mural.

"Thank God for His gift..." Vida knelt down in front of him, saying words that sounded like a prayer.

Looking around at this time, I found that the area below had become extremely wide. There were statues of various images around. The outermost ones were three people holding different weapons, a dwarf holding a hammer, and an empty space. The two statues closest to the center looked like angels.

The angel standing in the middle looks the strangest. He has no organs on his face, and his nose seems like a mask. Under the statue is a sharp blade that can still emit its own light in the dark. Anyone can see that this sword is not simple.

While Lingyu was marveling at the buildings, Vida had finished praying, dusted himself off, and walked to Lingyu's side.

"Mr. Brave, go pick up the sword." Vida said to Lingyu without any emotion.

Although I felt confused at first, for some reason I felt that what he said made sense, and my body instinctively wanted to drive me to pick up the sword.

Driven by instinct, he walked to the sword. There were incomprehensible symbols engraved on the sword. It didn't look like a very big sword, but An still felt that his current situation was very suspenseful.

"Mr. Brave, pick up that sword and you will understand everything." Vida looked at Lingyu who was hesitating there, and this might arouse her interest.

After hearing Vida's urging, he picked up the sword. The sword was not as heavy as he had imagined. Instead, it was quite light and easy to hold. There was also an aura around the sword that could restore his body and mind.

"It hurts! What's going on?!" The reassuring feeling has disappeared, and the pain in the right hand holding the sword spreads to the top of the head, making it unbearable.

Lingyu was already kneeling on the ground, but his hand was still holding the sword tightly.

Before he lost consciousness, he saw Vader still looking at him motionlessly.
