My Little Pony: Another World Adventure
Chapter 1: Latan Magnus and Diagon Alley
The heavy shackles fell to the ground with a clang, and the chains, which were as thick as an adult's thigh, twisted like a snake and retracted into the wall. Latan Magnus moved his limbs and neck, which had been imprisoned for eleven years, and a series of crisp popping sounds were heard from the friction between his bones.
He was very strong, even too strong, with broad shoulders and a thin waist, long arms and legs, and his exposed forearms were muscular, comparable to a bull's thighs.
The grandfather who regarded him as a monster did not restrict his food and drink, and the giant gene flowing in his veins was fully nourished, allowing this eleven-year-old child to have a body as strong as a city wall. His messy dark red hair cascaded down like a waterfall, hanging behind his thick calves.
Latan rubbed the scars on his wrists, looked down at Professor McGonagall, who was shrouded in his own shadow, and asked in unprofessional English: "When do we leave?"
It was already the next morning. After Dumbledore handed the admission letter to Latarn in the early hours of the morning, he immediately left, saying that he was "going to visit an old friend."
Latan suspected that the "old friend" Dumbledore mentioned was the first Dark Lord, the man who almost burned Paris to ashes - Gellert Grindelwald.
After all, the book has mentioned many times the secret, opposing, yet close relationship between the two black and white wizards.
Unfortunately, there is no evidence, otherwise it would be confirmed that Albus Dumbledore was a homosexual.
Latan felt a little regretful about missing out on the academic argument, but his face remained expressionless.
Minerva McGonagall stayed overnight in the guest room of the wandmaker Gregorovitch, still wearing the dark green robe she wore yesterday, paired with a plain pointed wizard hat and Baroque-style low-heeled leather boots, making her look much taller and sharper, like a brand new quill.
Although the tip of the hat was just level with Latan's nose.
She looked up and said in awkward German, "Albus has applied to the International Confederation of Wizards for a transnational portkey, which will be available in ten minutes. Remember to bring your letter. In addition to the list of items, there is also a ticket to King's Cross Station. Don't forget it."
"Professor McGonagall." Latan patted his chest. The letter was in the inner pocket of his robe. "I hope you can communicate with me in English. This will help me adapt to the language environment of Hogwarts in advance."
Mag was stunned for a moment, then smiled and said in English: "You are a studious child."
"They, these 1,740 books, these silent and faithful companions."
Latan opened his arms, as if to embrace the yellowed books around him that had been read so many times that the threads were worn out. "He is the only one I can confide in here."
Professor McGonagall's eyes revealed her dissatisfaction with Gregorovitch's teaching methods. She said, "Well, your pronunciation still needs to be corrected, but your vocabulary is no problem." She glanced at her pocket watch, "There are still eight minutes left. Let's go wait in front. When we get to Diagon Alley, I'll buy you a new set of clothes first, and then go to Ollivander's Wand Shop to buy you a wand. I use Ollivander's wand, he is the best wand maker in Europe."
"Bullshit!" Gregorovitch suddenly appeared in front of the wide-open steel gate, pushing Lenara in a wheelchair, "That old man Ollivander is just an idiot who plays with tree branches! My wand is the best in Europe!"
Latan's face turned cold, his dark eyes were as deep as blood, his bony fingers clenched into fists, and he growled like a lion: "How dare you appear in front of me?! The warden is here to offer hypocritical mercy to the prisoners?! I don't need it! I don't want to see you either!"
Gregorovitch did not hide the disgust in his eyes, and said to Latan: "If you didn't have my daughter's blood in your body, I would have cast a killing curse on you long ago, damn monster."
"Mr. Gregorovitch!" Professor McGonagall said in a clear and stern tone, "From the moment Latan received the admission letter, he has been a member of Hogwarts. As the professor of Transfiguration, I will never allow you to harm my students in any way!"
Gregorovitch's red face turned an ugly purple, and he blew his beard like a blower. He gently pushed the wheelchair that Lenara was in forward, turned his head away and shouted, "My daughter wants to see you!"
"Daughter? Her?"
Latan looked at the frail body in the wheelchair, of which he had no memory. The tall body trembled like a fir tree in a snowstorm, as if countless invisible arrows pierced his chest. The loving smile from his long-lost memory revived without warning at this moment and slowly overlapped with the pale flesh and blood skeleton before his eyes.
Why does my heart hurt so much when I'm not hit by the curse?
Professor McGonagall was surprised by Latan's reaction: "You haven't seen your mother?"
"I have seen it before...eleven years ago..."
Latan walked to the wheelchair step by step, knelt on the cold stone bricks, looked up at the terrifying face, and tremblingly called out: "Mom?"
As if an invisible switch was pressed, a hint of red appeared on Reinara's dull cheeks, and the skin that was tightly attached to her skull stretched out, and her dry facial features formed an ugly smile: "You have grown so big... my child..."
His mother's call was like a red-hot iron piercing into Latan's chest. Joy, pain, excitement, sadness... countless strong emotions burst out from the depths of his mind, and finally fused into a terrible flame. The only emotion he could express smoothly was the purest anger!!!
"Grigorovitch!!!"
Latan stood up suddenly, his red hair dancing wildly like flames, his eyes were covered with dense bloodshot, his white skin was deep red as blood, and the veins all over his body burst out like little snakes. He looked like a devil reborn from the blood pool of hell, and strode towards his grandfather!
"What did you do to her!!!"
The heavy fist like an anvil smashed down, and Gregorovitch's face changed drastically. He quickly pulled out his wand from his arms and shouted, "Armor protect me!"
A flash of light suddenly appeared at the tip of the staff, and the invisible spherical shield expanded and faced Ratan's huge fist! With a loud sound like a huge bell, Ratan was shocked and took a step back. The flesh on the tip of his fist rolled up and blood gushed out!
Gregorovitch's protective spell exploded, and the short and fat old man staggered back dozens of steps and fell to the ground, his wand still pointing at his grandson: "Thunder Explosion--"
"Expelliarmus! Turn fossils into mud!"
A red light flashed, and Gregorovitch's wand flew out and fell to the ground. The hard stone floor under Ratan's feet suddenly softened and turned into a pool of muddy mud, causing him to sink into it all at once, leaving only his head exposed on the ground.
Professor McGonagall rushed between the two men with her wand raised, and shouted fiercely: "Stop it! Latan, you shouldn't hurt your grandfather. He has been taking care of your mother for the past eleven years! If you want your mother to recover, then study hard in Hogwarts and use your own strength to get her back on her feet."
Latan panted heavily, the color on his skin gradually faded, leaving only two blushes on his cheeks, and a sharp pain came from his right eye. This was an old problem he had brought with him from his mother's womb. This symptom would appear every time he was angry, and in severe cases it would even cause temporary blindness in his right eye.
As long as it doesn't affect my reading, it's fine.
He gave Gregorovitch a piercing look, nodded to Professor McGonagall, and said emotionlessly, "I understand, Professor. Let's go now."
"Very well, I'll get you out. Wingardium Leviosa! (Levitation spell) This mud... whirlwind cleans it off!"
The mud and water on Latan's body splashed away immediately, and the old-fashioned black robe was instantly spotless, emitting a faint unique smell of being repeatedly washed.
"Turn mud into stone." Professor McGonagall used her wand to direct the mud spots thrown out, filling them all into the big hole in the floor, restoring the stone slab to its original shape. She nodded to the wand maker who struggled to stand up against the wall, "I will teach Latan well. Goodbye, Mr. Gregorovitch."
Latan pressed his aching right eye with his thumb joint, took one last look at his emaciated mother, a trace of reluctance in his eyes, then clenched his fists and followed Professor McGonagall outside.
"and many more!"
Gregorovitch suddenly shouted, attracting Professor McGonagall's unhappy look. Without even looking at his grandson, he said in a low voice: "There is a wallet on the counter, use it. Don't let the British laugh at you."
Latan paused for a moment, without looking back, he looked into the air and said, "What's the British slang? Oh, right... Fuck You!"
With that, he strode out from behind the beaded curtain, leaving only Professor McGonagall and Gregorovitch in the corridor.
The old wandmaker turned around and took out a heavy cowhide bag from his arms. The sound of coins colliding could be heard under the heavy leather. He handed it to Professor McGonagall, who looked very complicated, and said in an almost pleading tone, "Please... take good care of him."
Professor McGonagall put the leather bag into her robe, pursed her lips tightly, and exhaled from her nose: "Mr. Gregorovitch, although I am not qualified to criticize your family affairs, but... if you can soften your attitude a little, will the result be better?"
She pushed the square-framed glasses on her nose, greeted Gregorovitch and Lenara respectively, and turned to leave.
----
The Leaky Cauldron, London, UK.
In the busy bar, an empty Squeaky Honey Jar suddenly appeared, floating above the floor and spinning rapidly.
Seeing this, Tom, the bar owner who was as old as a walnut, walked out from behind the bar quickly, drove away the wizards who were surprised by the sight, and shouted with his toothless mouth: "Get out of the way! Get out of the way! Make room for the guests who have come from afar to land!"
Almost as soon as he finished speaking, there was a crisp crackling sound, and two blurry figures appeared next to the sugar jar that was spinning like the wind. First, the nervous system, then the entire set of bones, then all the muscles and fascia, and finally the skin and clothes, and even the hair were reshaped.
Latan slammed heavily to the ground, his bare feet making the thick wooden floor creak. He glanced at the curious looks of the British wizards around him. These inquiring eyes made him feel extremely uncomfortable, as if invisible hands wanted to strip all his clothes off.
What's so good about it? What's so good about it! What's so good about it!!!
Latan found himself ashamed to find that he actually wanted to go back, back to the cage where he was alone, back to the embrace of thousands of books. He didn't want to face these eyes, these creatures, these living pieces of meat!
"It's okay, kid." Professor McGonagall held the half-blood giant's broad palm, looked at Latarn's pale face covered with sweat, and said softly, "You will get used to this feeling. I believe you can do it."
Latan swallowed and lowered his head to stare at his toes, not daring to look at the eyes of the people around him. His huge body seemed huddled and hunched. The discussions circulating around the table made him alert and sensitive, like a farm-raised wild animal, at a loss in the wilderness.
"Tom," Professor McGonagall dragged Latan to the bar and said to the owner of the Leaky Cauldron, "Open a single room. Mr. Magnus is a transfer student from Germany and will stay here until September 1st."
"First-year student?" Tom opened his mouth in surprise after getting Professor McGonagall's affirmative answer, revealing his pink gums. "Merlin's briefs! Mr. Magnus, you are so tall!"
Latan didn't know what expression to use to respond to the old man's exclamation. The big books he had read did not have any illustrations to teach him how to use his facial features flexibly. He could only stand there blankly with no expression on his face.
"Get the room ready, Tom. We'll be back after we buy the books and tools for school," said Professor McGonagall crisply, leading Latan's hand through a small door next to the bar (Latan had to hunch his shoulders and waist to pass through), and into a small courtyard with walls on all sides.
There's nothing here except a trash can and some weeds.
Professor McGonagall drew her wand.
"Watch this, Latarn."
She placed her wand against the first brick on the left edge of the trash can lid, counted three up and two to the right, and tapped it.
The whole wall came alive immediately. The red bricks rolled and collapsed, retreating to the sides in an orderly yet chaotic manner, forming thick and huge arch columns. A wrought iron sign hung just above Latan's forehead: Diagon Alley.
"Welcome to the largest wizarding business in the UK, Mr. Magnus." Professor McGonagall turned her back to the surging crowd and gave Latarn a playful smile like a little girl. "Let me tell you a secret. In fact, whether you count to the left or to the right, you can open this door."
Latan had read about Professor McGonagall's expression in a book and knew that she was showing kindness to him, but he didn't know how to move his facial muscles for a moment, and ended up just pulling his lips into a horrible and cold angle.
Professor McGonagall's smile suddenly froze, but she soon understood and patted Latan's arm comfortingly: "Just practice more, it's okay, kid. Let's go to Madam Malkin's robe store first. Your clothes were out of fashion when I was young..."
Following Professor McGonagall, Latan carefully stepped into the surging crowd in Diagon Alley, his eyes fixed on his white toes stepping on the cobblestone floor, secretly glancing at the laughing and joyful little wizards around him. Except for a trace of resistance, his heart was almost completely filled with anticipation.
At this point, Latan Magnus officially entered the world of wizards.
