Traveling through the Tang Dynasty: The Concubine Goes to War

Chapter 19 Yunxi is in danger in the Turkic palace

Last time we talked about how Yunxi accepted the invitation of the Turkic king to stay temporarily in the palace in order to strengthen the relationship between the Turks and the Tang Dynasty.

In the Turkic palace full of exotic beauty, Yunxi accidentally met the Turkic princess. She was wearing gorgeous traditional Turkic clothes, shining with brilliant light, as if she came from another world.

Her face was pretty, but full of jealousy. Her eyes revealed a kind of indifference and alienation, as if she was dissatisfied with everything around her. Under her high nose bridge, her lips were slightly pouting, as if she was telling of her inner resentment.

The princess's hair fell on her shoulders like a waterfall, gently brushing against her fair skin, exuding a faint fragrance. Her beauty was like a rose in the desert, delicate and beautiful, but with thorns that made people dare not approach easily.

Yunxi felt a strong hostility from her. Yunxi wondered in her heart, why did this princess have such obvious hostility towards her? Was it because of her identity as a Tang Dynasty envoy? Or was there another reason? Yunxi decided to deal with it carefully to avoid unnecessary trouble.

She smiled and saluted the princess, trying to be humble and polite. However, the princess just glanced at her indifferently, "You are the envoy sent by the Tang Dynasty? You are so young and beautiful..." There was a hint of sarcasm in the princess' tone. Yunxi smiled and responded, "Thank you for the compliment, Princess. This time I came here to promote friendly exchanges between the two countries." The princess looked Yunxi up and down, and the jealousy in her eyes became stronger.

The princess sneered, "Really? But I think you have ulterior motives..." After saying that, she turned and left, leaving behind a puzzling figure.

Yunxi's heart tightened. It seemed that she had to be careful in every aspect of the Turkic palace. Yunxi looked in the direction where the princess left, thinking. She realized that there were probably many hidden crises waiting for her in the Turkic palace. She had to stay alert at all times to survive in this complicated palace struggle.

One day, Yunxi and Xiaowan were strolling in the palace, curiously looking around. The ancient buildings exuded a solemn atmosphere, and the gorgeous decorations were dazzling. They were immersed in this beautiful atmosphere and appreciated every detail.

Suddenly, they saw the princess and two maids hurriedly walking out. The princess looked a little anxious, and her steps were fast and firm. The two maids followed her closely, looking nervous, as if they had something important to deal with.

The princess was wearing a gorgeous Turkish robe, with her skirt fluttering in the wind. Her beauty and nobility were still revealed in her haste. Her hair was flying, and her eyes revealed firmness and determination. Her presence seemed to exude an invisible power that made people fall in love with her.

Yunxi and Xiaowan could not help but stop and quietly watch the princess leave. They were curious about what had happened to make the princess so hurried. However, she did not have the courage to ask. At this moment, Yunxi noticed that the princess was holding a letter with a particularly eye-catching seal on the envelope. Yunxi followed the princess until she disappeared from sight.

"Xiao Wan, where do you think the princess is going in such a hurry?" Yunxi turned around and asked.

"Maybe there is some urgent matter that needs to be dealt with." Xiaowan guessed.

Yunxi nodded, but her doubts were still there. She always felt that the princess's behavior was a little strange, as if she was hiding some secret.

"Let's go and take a look." Yunxi decided to find out where the princess had gone.

The two quietly followed the princess, keeping a certain distance. After passing through the corridors and gardens of the palace, the princess finally came to a secluded tent. She lifted the curtain and went in.

Yunxi and Xiaowan approached the tent and tried to hear the conversation inside, but they could only hear vague voices.

"It seems we can only wait here." Yunxi said softly.

So, they found a secluded corner nearby and hid there, patiently waiting for the princess to come out. As time passed, Yunxi became more and more anxious. She didn't know who the princess was meeting inside, nor did she know what they were talking about. Finally, the curtain of the tent opened, and the princess came out with a strange man. The man was tall, with a stern face and a hint of mystery in his eyes. After he whispered a few words to the princess, he left in a hurry.

The princess's expression became heavy, she tightly grasped the letter in her hand, as if thinking about something. Yunxi and Xiaowan looked at each other, their hearts full of doubts.

"Let's go back." Yunxi decided not to alert the enemy for the time being.

After returning to her residence, Yunxi fell into deep thought. She felt that there must be a major conspiracy behind the princess's actions, but she couldn't be sure what it was.

"I must solve this mystery." Yunxi vowed secretly.

In the following days, Yunxi paid more attention to the princess's every move, trying to find more clues... He also understood that the palace had many affairs, and perhaps only the princess herself knew the reasons.

Yunxi began to investigate the princess's background and found that she was not a local but from another nomadic tribe, the Khitan. This discovery aroused Yunxi's vigilance and she suspected that the princess might be a spy from another tribe.

In order to confirm his guess, Yunxi secretly monitored the whereabouts of the princess and tried to get close to the people around her. At a bonfire party, Yunxi deliberately talked to the princess's maid and gradually won her trust.

Through the maid, Yunxi learned some secrets about the princess. It turned out that the princess did have close ties with the neighboring tribes, and her purpose did not seem simple.

Yunxi continued to investigate. However, her actions aroused the princess's attention, and a dangerous contest was about to begin...

Yunxi knew that her situation was becoming increasingly dangerous, but she did not back down.

One day, Yunxi accidentally discovered a secret room in the palace, and she decided to go in and take a look. The secret room was filled with dust, and there were old maps and documents hanging on the walls. Yunxi looked carefully and found some information related to the princess. Just as she was about to study further, footsteps were heard outside the door. Yunxi's heart tightened, and she quickly hid behind the screen.

The person who came in was the princess, holding a candlestick, with a look of determination in her eyes. The princess walked to the table, put a document in her arms, and then lit the letter on the table. The flames spread quickly, almost illuminating the entire secret room. Yunxi widened her eyes, secretly thankful that she was not discovered. After the princess left, Yunxi hurried out of the secret room, her heart full of doubts and uneasiness. These evidences seemed to point to a huge conspiracy, and she had to find out the truth as soon as possible to protect the peace between the Tang Dynasty and the Turks. Yunxi knew that this matter was of great importance, and she decided to tell the Turkic king about her discovery.

Yunxi entered the Turkish king's tent with a nervous heart. When he told the Turkish king about the princess' unusual behavior, the latter's face showed shock and doubt.

The Turkic king's originally dignified expression suddenly became solemn, his eyes widened, full of astonishment. He tightly grasped the armrest, his fingers almost sinking into it, showing his inner uneasiness.

Yunxi described in detail everything she had seen, the princess's strange behavior, and the possible hidden meanings. The Turkic king frowned more and more, and he began to think about the motives and possible consequences behind it.

As Yunxi finished her story, the tent fell into a dead silence. The Turkic king was silent for a moment, and finally spoke slowly, with an undisguised shock in his voice: "How is this possible?" His eyes flickered with doubt and uneasiness, as if he found it difficult to accept this sudden news.

The Turkic king began to fall into deep thought, his eyes became deep and sharp, as if he was trying to piece together the truth behind these unusual actions. Yunxi stood quietly by, watching the Turkic king thinking, his heart also filled with doubts and worries.

However, deep in the palace, a storm was brewing. The princess learned of Yunxi's actions, and she would never allow her plan to be ruined. So she planned an assassination in an attempt to get rid of Yunxi.

On a dark and windy night, Yunxi and Xiaowan were walking back to the palace.

Suddenly, an assassin appeared from the dark, holding a scimitar, and rushed towards Yunxi. Yunxi panicked, but she showed amazing courage at the critical moment and resolutely stretched out her hand to block the assassin's scimitar.

The sharp blade cut Yunxi's arm, and blood gushed out instantly, staining her sleeves red. She endured the severe pain, tightly grasped the scimitar, and fought a desperate battle with the assassin. Xiaowan, who was frightened beside her, reacted and shouted for help. Just when Yunxi was gradually running out of strength, the Turkic prince happened to pass by. He witnessed this thrilling scene and drew his sword without hesitation and rushed towards the assassin. The prince was agile and had sharp swordsmanship. He beat the assassin back in a few strokes. Seeing that the situation was not good, the assassin turned around and fled, disappearing into the darkness.

Yunxi finally breathed a sigh of relief, her body shaking uncontrollably. The eldest prince hurried forward and asked about Yunxi's injuries with concern. Yunxi looked at him gratefully, tears flashing in her eyes. The eldest prince took out the golden wound medicine from his arms and carefully treated Yunxi's wounds. Under his careful care, Yunxi's injuries gradually stabilized. Yunxi looked at the direction where the assassin fled, thinking to herself: "Who wants to kill me?" She remembered her previous investigation of the princess, and gradually got the answer in her mind.

At the same time, the princess learned that the assassination attempt had failed and angrily smashed the butter tea cup. "This woman is so difficult to deal with!" she said with gritted teeth. Now that the plan had been exposed, she decided to speed up the action.

Yunxi returned to her residence with the help of the eldest prince and Xiaowan. She planned to use her wisdom and connections to collect more evidence and expose the princess's conspiracy. A thrilling palace contest thus began...

Yunxi was not idle during her recovery. She used this time to carefully analyze the current situation and sort out more clues.

After recovering, Yunxi decided to take the initiative. She pretended to be unaware and continued to deal with the princess, trying to find flaws in her words and deeds.

At a tribal banquet, Yunxi deliberately brought up the conflict between the tribes and observed the princess's reaction. Sure enough, the princess's face changed slightly, but soon returned to normal.

Yunxi had a conclusion in her mind, and she decided to present all the evidence to the Turkic king at the appropriate time. At the banquet, Yunxi met a woman who had lived in the Princess Tribe. Through the conversation with her, Yunxi learned more about the internal situation of the Princess Tribe.

Afterwards, Yunxi successfully obtained the key evidence of the princess's collusion with external forces with her own wisdom and strategy. However, when she was about to hand over the evidence to the Turkic king, she encountered an accident...

On the way to the palace, Yunxi was attacked by a group of mysterious people. They attacked Yunxi fiercely and tried to snatch the evidence from her.

Yunxi and Xiaowan fought back, but were outnumbered. At the critical moment, the eldest prince appeared in time again and saved Yunxi. However, the evidence was lost in the melee.

Yunxi was extremely anxious. She had lost the evidence. How could she prove the princess's guilt? Yunxi was as anxious as an ant on a hot pot. Seeing this, the eldest prince promised to help her find the evidence. Yunxi was very grateful.

At the same time, the princess was very pleased to learn that the evidence was missing, as she believed that without the evidence, Yunxi would not be a threat to her.

But she never expected that Yunxi had memorized the contents of the evidence. Yunxi decided to collect evidence again, believing that justice will eventually triumph over evil.

Yunxi and the eldest prince secretly investigated the whereabouts of the evidence. They found that the mastermind behind the scenes was not only the princess, but also other forces were involved. At the same time, the princess's threats to Yunxi continued to escalate, and Yunxi was in danger. In a dangerous assassination, Yunxi was lucky to escape the danger because the eldest prince sacrificed himself to protect her. After experiencing the test of life and death, the relationship between the two gradually warmed up. In the end, Yunxi and the eldest prince went through all kinds of difficulties and found the key evidence. They presented the evidence to the Turkic king and exposed the princess's conspiracy.

The Turkic king was furious and sent the princess to the cold palace.

After further investigation, the Turkic king learned that the princess was a spy placed in the Turkic kingdom by his Khitan leader. She reported all the news about the Turkic kingdom to the Khitan leader. The Khitan leader also united with other tribes and planned to invade the Tang Dynasty and put the blame on the Turkic kingdom, so as to make the Turkic kingdom break the agreement and fight with the Tang Dynasty again, so that the king could reap the benefits.

Yunxi successfully safeguarded national interests and became a hero in the hearts of the Turkic and Tang people.

It turns out that the current princess is the successor princess, and the former princess is the birth mother of the eldest prince. The birth mother of the eldest prince was framed and died unjustly by the leader of the tribe of the current successor princess. Therefore, the eldest prince has always hated the current successor princess, so he pays great attention to her and rescues Yunxi in time every time she is in danger. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. And the eldest prince has always had a good impression of Yunxi, the beauty from the Central Plains who came from the Tang Dynasty.

Yunxi and the eldest prince's feelings deepened day by day, and they decided to jointly protect the peace between the Turks and the Tang Dynasty. Thanks to their efforts, trade between the two countries became more frequent, and the people lived and worked in peace.

Unknowingly, Yunxi had been in Turkic for some time, and gradually recovered from the pain caused by Han Xuan and Zhaxi.

However, one day, Yunxi received a letter from the Emperor of the Tang Dynasty, who highly praised her achievements and hoped that she could return to the country to be conferred a title. At the same time, Han Xuan also sent a letter, in which every word was filled with his thoughts about Yunxi and his hope that she would return to the Tang Dynasty soon.

Yunxi was a little conflicted. She was reluctant to leave the eldest prince and Turkic, but she couldn't let down the emperor's expectations and her concern for Han Xuan.

The eldest prince saw Yunxi's thoughts, and he hugged Yunxi tenderly, saying, "No matter what choice you make, I will support you." Yunxi was moved to tears, and she decided to return to Datang and bring the seeds of peace back to her hometown. On the day she left, the Turkic people flocked to the streets to see her off.

Yunxi embarked on her journey home with her thoughts of Turkic and her vision of the future. She believed that even though they were thousands of miles apart, her friendship with the prince would be as eternal and beautiful as the Turkic grasslands.
