Rift: Countdown to Doomsday

Lin Feng stood on an unfamiliar patch of grass and looked around. The sun shone through the sparse leaves and onto the ground, and a breeze blew by, bringing a hint of coolness. Everything here was very different from his previous world, as if he had entered a completely new world.

"Where is this?" Lin Feng muttered to himself, trying to adapt to the sudden change.

At this moment, a burst of hurried footsteps was heard. Lin Feng turned around alertly and saw a figure running out of the woods. It was a young woman in armor, holding a long sword, with a vigilant look on her face.

"Who are you?" the woman asked loudly, "Why are you here?"

Lin Feng raised his hands to show that he had no hostility. "My name is Lin Feng, I...just got here."

"Just got here?" The woman frowned, obviously unconvinced. "This is a dangerous place. How could someone like you just barge in?"

Lin Feng smiled bitterly and said, "What I said is true. I did appear here suddenly."

The woman was still on guard, but did not move closer. "You'd better explain yourself, or I'll be rude to you."

At this moment, a low roar came from a distance, and Lin Feng and the woman turned their heads at the same time. A huge shadow was swaying among the trees, and two eyes flashing red could be vaguely seen.

"Oh no! It's the Iron-Armored Demon Wolf!" the woman cursed in a low voice, "We have to get out of here!"

Lin Feng also felt the crisis approaching, "Let's go together, I can help you."

The woman hesitated, but nodded. "Okay. I hope you won't hold me back."

The two of them quickly ran to the other side of the forest, trying to shake off the demon wolf behind them. Although Lin Feng was not clear about the situation here, his intuition told him that this woman was trustworthy.

After running for a while, they came to a relatively open area. The woman stopped and said breathlessly, "We are safe for now, but the Iron Wolf will not give up easily."

Lin Feng also stopped, "What's your name?"

The woman glanced at him and replied, "My name is Xue Wu, and I'm a warrior from this world."

"Xue Wu, thank you for saving me." Lin Feng said gratefully.

Xue Wu shook his head. "Now is not the time to thank you. We still need to find a safe place. I heard there is a village nearby. Maybe we can take shelter there temporarily."

Lin Feng nodded, "Okay, I'll go with you."

The two continued to move forward and finally saw a small village at dusk. The residents of the village were obviously very wary of outsiders, but Xue Wu's appearance made them relax their vigilance.

"Xue Wu, is this really the village you mentioned?" Lin Feng asked doubtfully.

Xue Wu nodded, "Yes, this is Konoha Village. I've been here a few times before, and they are all very friendly people."

An elderly villager came over, looked at Lin Feng for a few seconds, and then said to Xue Wu, "Xue Wu, this is..."

"He is Lin Feng, a newcomer here." Xue Wu explained, "He needs a safe place, I would like you to take him in."

The villagers nodded. "As long as he doesn't cause trouble, we welcome him."

Lin Feng bowed to the villagers gratefully, "Thank you, I will definitely abide by the village rules."

The villager nodded with satisfaction. "That's good. You can go and rest first. We will arrange everything."

At night, Lin Feng and Xue Wu sat in a small house in the village, and Xue Wu explained to him the situation of this world.

"This world is full of dangers and opportunities," Xue Wu said. "You need to learn how to protect yourself in order to survive here."

Lin Feng listened carefully, "I will, Xue Wu, thank you for your help."

Xue Wu smiled and said, "You're welcome. We are companions now."

Lin Feng felt a warm feeling. Although he was in a strange world, he knew he was not alone. After this day's experience, he became more determined to gain a foothold in this world. He secretly vowed to become stronger and protect himself and his friends.

"Xue Wu, what should I do next?" Lin Feng asked.

"I'll take you to see someone tomorrow who may be able to help you find the direction." Xue Wu replied.

Lin Feng nodded, "Okay, I'll listen to you."

In the dead of night, Lin Feng lay in bed, thinking back to today, his heart filled with hope and expectation. He knew that tomorrow would be a new beginning, a starting point for his adventure in another world.

——The next morning, Lin Feng and Xue Wu got up early and prepared to go to a hill outside the village. Xue Wu told him that the hermit there might be able to give him some guidance.

"This hermit is very mysterious, but he is a real master," Xue Wu explained. "Many people seek to learn from him."

Lin Feng nodded to show his understanding, "I see, I hope I can learn something from him."

The two set out and climbed along the rugged mountain road. Soon, they arrived in front of a simple hut. Xue Wu went forward and knocked on the door.

"Come in." An old voice came from inside the house.

Lin Feng and Xue Wu pushed the door open and saw a white-haired old man sitting at the table, seemingly reading an ancient book. He raised his head and looked at the two of them with deep eyes.

"Xue Wu, you are here again. Did you bring a new person this time?" asked the old man.

Xue Wu nodded respectfully, "Yes, mentor, this is Lin Feng, he needs your guidance."

The instructor looked at Lin Feng and nodded, "Young man, I can feel the potential and determination in you. Are you willing to accept my teachings?"

Lin Feng nodded without hesitation, "I am willing, please teach me."

The instructor smiled and said, "Very good, from today on, you are my student. First, you need to learn to control your own strength."

Lin Feng felt excited. He knew that this was the beginning of his becoming stronger in this world. In the days to come, under the guidance of his mentor, he would embark on a more difficult but hopeful path of cultivation.
