In the book, I was fed by my sister

Chapter 8: Trying to grow mushrooms?

After dinner, Song Li lay in her yard and looked up at the starry sky.

There is no full moon tonight, but the stars in the sky are connected together, illuminating the entire village.

"Sister, do you think there are two identical stars in different worlds?"

Song Ran was weaving a fire rope made of wormwood. Summer was here and mosquitoes began to increase. When she squatted in the toilet, mosquitoes chased her butt and bit her. When she heard her younger sister's words, she raised her head and looked at the sky in confusion: "Stars? Aren't all stars the same?"

Song Li sighed, wondering how her elder sister could understand her thoughts. "I was just kidding, what is her wish?"

"As for my wish, I just hope Xiaoguai can grow up safely." Song Ran said, with a hint of tenderness in his eyes.

"What else?" Song Li wanted to ask her if she had any wishes.

"That is to see Xiaoguai find a good husband in the future."

"Sister, don't you have any wishes of your own?"

"Myself, does eating meat every day count? Hahaha."

"Forget it! Anything else? Do you want to live in a big house?" Song Li continued to ask.

In the end times, the person who has a sturdy house and endless food will be the happiest person.

"Hahaha, Xiaoguai, are you going to build a big house for your sister in the future? Then your sister will want a blue-tiled house with three entrances and three exits. Even the houses in the city are not as grand as my house, okay?" Song Ran smiled with eyes curved, just thinking that her sister was joking.

"I definitely will." Song Li replied in a low voice.

*

Song Ran exclaimed early in the morning.

"Little cutie! There are mushrooms growing in the kitchen."

In order to keep the wild mushrooms fresh, Song Ran spread wet straw paper. Yesterday, Song Li used her supernatural power to detect the spores remaining on the paper, and used her supernatural power to stimulate them to grow. Now, mushrooms the size of half a little finger have emerged from the straw paper.

Seeing her sister's curious look, Song Li jokingly asked, "Sister, are you going to grow mushrooms?"

"Grow mushrooms?" A crazy idea came to Song Ran's mind. She carefully picked up the straw paper and moved it to the sun.

Seeing her sister's pious look, Song Li asked, "Sister, why do you want to put it in the sun?"

"I thought if the mushrooms were exposed to the sun, they would grow better."

Song Li didn't know whether to laugh or cry. It was obvious that her sister knew nothing about planting. There was a reason why the vegetables in the small vegetable garden grew so poorly. Although she could also stimulate the growth of mushrooms by placing them in the sun, she wanted to follow the growth environment of the plants themselves.

"But those mushrooms grew in the corner of the kitchen and have never been exposed to the sun. The mushrooms in the forest also grow under thick dead leaves." Song Li tempted him slowly.

"Xiaoguai is really smart. The mushrooms that grow in the wild are those that grow in cool, humid places with rotten leaves." Song Li explained patiently.

Hearing this, Song Ran suddenly realized: "Xiaoguai is smart. I know what to do." After saying that, she ran out of the kitchen excitedly.

"Sister, where are you going?"

"I'm going to go to Grandma Gu's house!"

After a while, Song Ran came back holding a bamboo basket.

"Sister, what are you doing?"

"I bought this from Grandma Gu. I want to use it to grow mushrooms and see if I can keep them alive." Song Ran said excitedly.

Gu Apo's family has a large bamboo forest. In the past, the whole family made a living by weaving bamboo products. Later, her husband, son and daughter-in-law died one after another, so she took over the family craft and took on the responsibility of supporting the family. Now, her grandson has grown up and sends military pay every once in a while, which is enough for the family to live on.

However, she did not stop at this skill, occasionally making some bamboo products, and over time, the empty house was filled with them. If anyone in the village needed them, they would just take them at a low price.

Song Li watched her sister busying around, filling it with soil, laying leaves on it, and finally putting the mushrooms on top.

But in Song Li's opinion, if the culture medium is not fermented well and the mushrooms are put directly on it, the mushrooms that emerge will be burned directly.

But she couldn't say these words, at least she couldn't let a child of four or five years old say them.

"Okay, let's see if these mushrooms can grow. If they can, I've discovered a great business opportunity." Song Ran secretly rejoiced in his heart.

Song Li threw a little bit of supernatural power into it, allowing the mushrooms to stabilize their early growth.

Seeing her sister busy at work, Song Li's mind drifted to the weed-covered vegetable garden. She couldn't help but ask, "Sister, can you give me a small hoe? I want to tidy up the vegetable garden."

"Xiaoguai, are you serious? Okay, sister will find you a small hoe." Song Ran agreed.

"Of course I am serious. I have to weed, fertilize, water and grow the vegetables well." Song Li said seriously. Although growing vegetables seemed simple to her, she still had to hide the fact that she was using her supernatural powers.

Even though Song Ran is her sister, surviving in the apocalypse for more than a decade has made her realize that she must keep her own secrets at all times.

Song Li took a small hoe and entered the vegetable garden, sweeping all the plants with her power. The weeds withered visibly under the effect of her power. She touched the root of the eggplant vine where she had used her power yesterday and found that the flowers were about to fall off and the small fruits inside were beginning to emerge.

She decided to give the vegetables a fifteen-day growth cycle, even though this was already much faster than the normal growth rate.

"Xiaoguai, I'm going to prepare the grass carp now. We'll have braised fish for lunch. When I went to Grandma Gu's house just now, I asked her to come over for lunch. You take care of the vegetable garden, and if you see any ripe white cucumbers, pick two." Song Ran said.

"Okay, sister." Song Li responded while continuing to be "busy" in the vegetable garden.

It seems that there is no need to prepare for a fifteen-day growing cycle, as my sister doesn’t manage the vegetable garden at all.

Song Li used her special powers to catalyze the white cucumber vines and the water squash vines, instantly causing two white cucumbers and two water squash vines to emerge with flowers on top.

"Sister, I have cleared the weeds and found two water melons have grown." Song Li walked out of the vegetable garden holding four water melons.

Song Ran was also very happy to hear this. She praised, "Xiaoguai is really amazing. He cleared all the weeds by himself. I went in to pick pumpkin vines yesterday and didn't see any water chestnuts. I guess they were buried by weeds."

Song Li threw the melons into the water scoop, then went to pick the weeds out of the vegetable garden, waited for them to be dried in the sun for two days, and then set them on fire.

Song Li moved a chair to the yard and looked through the window at her sister working in the kitchen. The hottest sun of the day made her feel comfortable.

"Bang! Bang!" The gate of the courtyard was slammed.

Song Ran looked up, thinking it was Granny Gu coming over, "Xiaoguai, go open the door, Granny Gu is coming over."

Because of the previous incident where Zhu Ximei came to cause trouble, Song Li deliberately activated the two plants at the gate of the yard to detect who was coming.

For her at the moment, it was easier to take action than to deal with the body, so she tried to avoid taking action on her own territory.

Song Li approached the gate and used catalytic grass to investigate.

There were two people, one tall and one short. She couldn't tell the figure of the woman, but the figure of the man was familiar. Song Li felt relieved and opened the gate.

The door opens.

"Where is your sister?" A thin middle-aged woman with slanted eyes stood at the door, followed by Li Mingping who was covering his left eye.

Song Li thought to himself: Oh no, he's here to cause trouble!

When Song Ran heard the sound, he dropped the fish in his hand, wiped his hands and came out to check, "Who is it?"
