The Japanese troops were driven back in defeat and retreated to the Songguo Town Valley Pass.

The Sichuan Army's 728th Regiment, the New 728th Regiment, and the 727th Regiment seized the positions they had just lost.

By this point, the Japanese 19th Division and the Korean 6th Division, which were attacking China from the Ji'an direction, had suffered more than half their casualties and were no longer able to launch a fierce attack on the Sichuan Army's 364th Brigade.

The two sides faced each other across the Songguo Town valley pass, and small-scale battles broke out from time to time.

The Japanese army's plan to occupy Tonghua County and meet up with the 20th Division of the Japanese Army in Jilin was thwarted.
