After the Japanese troops in Qingdao joined forces with the artillery units, they retreated towards Qingdao.

After the two armies joined forces, they split into two groups and launched an attack on the Japanese troops in Weixian.

The fierce battle lasted until after nine o'clock in the evening. The Japanese army in Weixian finally could not hold on and retreated to Qingdao.

At this time, the Second Regiment of the 15th Brigade was attacking Linyi and Yanzhou with the Shandong Column of the Eighth Route Army.

The next morning, the 12th Brigade and the Eighth Route Army Shandong Column continued to consolidate their fortifications in Weixian to prevent a Japanese counterattack.

The 1st Regiment of the 15th Brigade moved south to assist in the attack on Linyi and Yanzhou.

The Shijiazhuang Air Force also split into two groups to bomb Linyi's north gate, west gate and Yanzhou.

The battle lasted until around 3 pm. The Japanese troops in Linyi and Yanzhou could no longer hold out and were forced to retreat eastward to Rizhao.

At this point, all cities in western Shandong except Jinan had been recovered.

The Japanese army retreated to Rizhao, Qingdao, Yantai, Weihai and other places in eastern Shandong.

The next day, the 3rd Regiment of the 12th Brigade of the First Army, the 2nd Regiment of the 15th Brigade, and part of the Shandong Column of the Eighth Route Army strictly defended Weixian and Linyi, blocking the Japanese troops in eastern Shandong from reinforcing Jinan. The main force attacked Jinan with all its strength.

The Shijiazhuang Air Force was also fully dispatched to fully support the infantry's attack on Jinan.

With the strong support of the First Army's Shijiazhuang Air Force, the 12th Brigade, the 15th Brigade and the Eighth Route Army Shandong Column finally recaptured Jinan, an important city in western Shandong, after two days of bloody fighting.

The main force did not stop there and continued to march towards the eastern part of Shandong Province, retaking Rizhao. However, when attacking Qingdao, Weihai and Yantai, they were attacked by Japanese naval warships.

At this time, the vitality of the army and navy had not yet recovered.

The First Army had to temporarily stop attacking Qingdao, Weihai and Yantai.

Although the First Army stopped attacking the Japanese troops in the three cities of eastern Shandong, the Air Force continued to carry out air strikes on Qingdao, Weihai, and Yantai, making the Japanese troops in these three cities extremely nervous every day.

As the situation in the bases of Beijing, Tianjin and Tangshan became increasingly stable, the Third Aviation Squadron of the First Army at Xiaoguanzhuang Airport and Tangxiacun Airport began to mobilize troops and station at Shandong Shiqiao Airport, Qihe Airport and Jinan Zhangzhuang Airport.

The First Army Air Force bombed Qingdao, Weihai, and Yantai more frequently. However, after several days of fighting with Japanese warships in these ports, the First Army Air Force did not gain any advantage and therefore changed its strategy.

They changed their bombing targets to Japanese convoys transporting supplies to the port.

Although this move could not completely cut off the Japanese army's transportation of supplies from the sea, the transportation volume was greatly reduced.

The First Army of Shanxi had finished resting and preparing supplies, preparing to retake Henan Province. Dealing with the Japanese forces in the remaining port cities of Shandong was also put on the agenda.

Leng Feng transferred the Second Aviation Squadron from Dalian to Shandong. Cruise missiles and air-to-ground missiles produced by the Fengtian Arsenal and the Tribe Arsenal were also shipped to Jinan.

Because the Japanese Navy lost the Pacific War against the US Navy, the main warships were transferred to fight the US Navy.
