HP: For a better world

Chapter 6: Duel from Slytherin

Malfoy just ran over to provoke, and Selwyn followed suit, which was a seamless transition.

Are you Slytherins suffering from some serious illness?

Winster felt a little puzzled. He looked at Selwin in front of him - the person who ran over to Winster as soon as he came out of the medical wing and couldn't wait to provoke him, and who Winster believed had a grudge against the original owner. He was puzzled.

Obviously he was here to cause trouble, but Winston didn't get angry at all, he just thought it was funny.

Idiot, you dare to come here and provoke me without knowing anything... Don't you know there is a professor here? Malfoy didn't dare to jump in front of the professor.

He and Malfoy were definitely the kind of good brothers who would stab each other in the back.

The previous second, Malfoy kicked the door provocatively and was disgusted by Ron (Ron brought a dung ball to mock Malfoy: "Maybe you want a mouthful of dung?" Malfoy's face turned pale), and the next second, he found out from somewhere that Winster was in the compartment at the end of the car, but he had no idea that there was a professor in this compartment.

Winster looked Selwyn up and down, looking at the material on his body, which was obviously more than one grade lower than Malfoy's robe, although it was somewhat luxurious, and shook his head with some disdain. A pure-blood from a fallen family was stupid enough to jump directly into Malfoy's trap - I wonder why Malfoy would go back home in disgrace and still be willing to give him the news?

Harry looked at Selwyn with caution, who came with ill intentions. Ron had just put away the poop and had no time to sit down, but together with Harry he perfectly blocked Lupin.

"What do you want to do, Selwyn?" Winster said, pointing his wand at him.

Selwyn sneered loudly, and Professor Lupin turned over again. "You don't think you'll be fine if you stick to Potter--" Selwyn glanced at Harry quickly, and seeing that he didn't curse him directly, he continued, "You--this 'Squib'." He mouthed.

Winster glanced at Lupin, but Selwyn couldn't see Lupin so he thought Winster was looking at Harry and sneered loudly again.

"You're not afraid to come out, are you, White?" Selwyn also took out his wand and pointed it at him, "A duel between Slytherins!"

"Duel?" Winston asked, his fingers stroking his wand, ready to strike, but he held back.

A wizard duel is a battle between wizards under some name, usually witnessed by a witness and accompanied by assistants.

"Wizards duel, just you and me."

Selwyn added cautiously, motioning Winster to follow him out. Winster guessed that Selwyn didn't know that he could cast spells.

"You are not allowed to bring anyone else—"

Winster rejected Hermione's offer to help and followed Selwyn into the corridor.

"Yeah, I forgot..." Selwyn laughed maliciously, "You are worse than the previous two years. I heard that you only have Muggle memories left, right? White - dirty last name." He deliberately lowered his voice for the last few words.

Harry leaned his head out of the carriage, as if trying to stop the duel.

Winster's face was calm and he seemed completely angerless.

"—you're not thinking of intervening, are you, Potter?" Selwyn said suddenly. "This is a Slytherin duel!"

Ron pulled Harry back in the carriage and seemed to hold Hermione down as well.

The three people looked out of the carriage door quietly.

"Perhaps you would explain to me, Selwyn," said Winster, "at least so that I can understand why you would not even wait to get to school before coming to me?"

"I want you to apologize for the wrong you did to me!" Selwyn's face twisted in anger.

Winster seemed to smile. "Fault?" Winster asked. He didn't want Lupin to wake up and interrupt the duel. He wanted to teach this guy a lesson. "What mistake did I make?"

"You-you made me, made me a laughing stock!"

Selwyn said resentfully, "Even the dean protected you!"

As soon as Winster heard it, he knew that this was the original owner's revenge on Selwin, and the damage of this revenge was not serious, at least Selwin could stand here normally, but it made Selwin unable to speak.

"Sheltered me?"

Winster collected his wandering thoughts and looked at Selwyn.

"You're not going to complain to the professor himself?" he asked oddly.

"Of course, isn't that what you did?" Selwyn didn't notice anything and continued angrily, "Every time I and some other people beat you up the night before, the dean would punish me after class the next day - you would go to the dean to complain... But why would he punish me just because I complain?!"

It was cleaned up the day before... Winster thought unspeakably... The original owner's situation in Slytherin was really not good. Such a fool could hurt him... If it were Winster, he would be able to think of countless ways at the first time... For example, deliberately let the scars be exposed in the Potions class to affect the brewing, and be seen by Snape - when the scars were left.

You have to know that Slytherin's problems are solved by Slytherin, and anyone who tells others about it is a fool.

"Did you see me complain?"

"No, of course not. You're always inseparable from those half-bloods who rely on your homework... Who knows if you've ordered them around!"

Winster guessed what happened. According to the subtle traces left in the original owner's diary (the original owner didn't remember this at all, and it seemed that he didn't take Selwyn to heart at all), Selwyn was furious after being retaliated against and tried to complain but failed, showing his weakness that required the intervention of adult wizards. Coupled with his weak family background... the Slytherin students thought he was easy to bully. After suffering a lot, he attributed everything to Winster, which explained why when Winster just woke up and everyone else was watching, someone jumped up as if he had a grudge.

You know...what Winster came into contact with were the most dangerous kinds of black magic products. A pure-blood with good connections would definitely be able to find out how dangerous that thing was.

"Well, then I have a rough idea of what's going on - so, where's your witness, Selwyn?"

Winster said.

He wanted to end the battle quickly, as there was only one or two hours left before Hogwarts... Dementors would appear at any time. It would be best to beat this guy up before Lupin woke up.

"Here he is," said Selwyn, as Malfoy emerged from one of the carriages where he had evidently been watching the show.

"It's me, White. I am your witness." This time Malfoy did not bring Crabbe and Goyle, his two little followers, but stood alone among them, bowing slightly to both sides with a glorious face.

Winster looked at Malfoy, who had just run away with a grim face - now he was not as embarrassed as before, his pale face was solemn and serious, and he even wore the family emblem on his chest - Malfoy smiled at him.

"Ah," Winster said, looking back at Selwyn, "I agree that he shall be a witness to this duel."

Malfoy cleared his throat twice, suppressed his excitement, and checked the wands of both parties. Then he signaled the duelists to move back a certain distance. After making sure that both sides were three meters apart, he carefully held down the Malfoy family emblem and said, "I witness this honor duel in the name of Malfoy—"

"Because of the protection of underage wizards, neither side is allowed to kill each other in this duel, but the winner will have the power to control one thing that the loser can do, and both sides will pay an equal price."

“Anyone who has doubts can step forward.”

No one moved.

"Very good - then both sides salute." Malfoy slowly stepped aside - he actually hid in Harry's compartment and squeezed in with the three of them.

By now, the noise had attracted all the young wizards around, and they all leaned out of the carriage to look over here. Ron didn't have time to get angry and push Malfoy out - Winster and Selwyn had already shown their wands to each other and returned to their original positions - and bowed to his opponent.

"Flocks of birds--" Selwyn shouted, and a series of birds flew out from the tip of his wand and attacked Winster.

"--Legs freeze!" Winster immediately counterattacked and restrained Selwyn first. A red light hit Selwyn, and his legs snapped together tightly. The spell seemed to be too strong. Selwyn couldn't control his body, and his legs suddenly retreated. He half flew up and fell heavily on the ground face down. His wand was also thrown away.

Winster rolled a few times to avoid the birds' attacks, then calmly proceeded at his own pace, petrifying all the birds with a few shots.

Several small stone sculptures fell from the sky and disappeared after a few seconds along with the birds that had lost their magic power supply.

Selwyn fell to the ground and stretched out one hand to try to pick up his wand, but it was too late. Winster made another shot and petrified him completely - the duel was over.

After a short silence, the surrounding wizards burst into applause and cheers. The result was obvious - but Malfoy did not come out to announce the end of the duel - in fact, the cheers suddenly became smaller, as if something more "fascinating" than the duel attracted their attention. Winster suddenly felt something was wrong and hurried to hide in the nearest carriage, but... it was too late.

Professor Lupin was standing outside the carriage he had just been in, looking at them expressionlessly. The others all shrank their heads back, as if nothing had just happened. Only the cloth chairs torn by the flocks of birds flying around and Selwin still lying on the ground could prove what had just happened.

"...What are you doing?" Lupin asked slowly.

Winster subconsciously took a step back, trying to block Selwyn who fell behind him, and quickly canceled the spell: "No, it's nothing! We just--"

Selwyn stood next to Winster, who glanced at him quickly. Fortunately, Selwyn was not stupid enough to expose his previous behavior. He continued, "——We were just discussing spells."

"Talking about spells?" Lupin glanced suspiciously at the hole made by the flock of birds.

Winster quickly said: "We are just discussing whether the flocks of birds can destroy the facilities inside the train - considering that this is a magic train."

Malfoy gave them a thumbs-up from behind Lupin.

Lupin's expression slowed down. "Is that so, Harry?" Lupin turned around and asked Harry.

Harry looked back into the carriage at a loss.

Ron was trying hard to cover Hermione's mouth in the carriage, so he could only wink at Harry. Harry couldn't understand what he meant, so he turned his head back to look at Lupin.

"Uh... um..." Harry hesitated, and before he could think of what to say, he saw Winston waving his hands desperately when Lupin turned his head. "Yes, yes, yes," Harry said quickly before Lupin turned around, "They were just discussing spells."

"Then where does all the cheering come from?" Lupin seemed a little unconvinced.

Harry responded vaguely, and suddenly saw the red sunset outside the window. He quickly said, "It's the Weasley brothers!"

Lupin asked in surprise: "Who?"

"The Weasley twins, they are very popular. Maybe they just played a joke on everyone." Harry decided to let the twins take the blame. If they knew about it, they probably wouldn't refute it. They would be interested in the duel.

"So that's how it is. Professor McGonagall told me about them in advance. They're good pranksters." Lupin seemed to believe it. He nodded and thanked Harry for his help, then said to Winston and Selwyn, "Don't experiment with spells on the train next time. It's very dangerous." He scolded, and then Lupin cast a few restoration spells on the chair and walked towards the other side of the carriage, apparently wanting to inspect the train at the same time.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Selwyn glanced at Malfoy who came out of Harry's carriage, and said to Winster with a dark face: "You are just lucky this time, White. Next time I will find a more suitable witness to challenge you."

After saying that, he turned around and left angrily.

Malfoy called out to him from behind, "Wait Selwyn, you haven't paid the price yet."

Selwyn turned around and glared at Malfoy in shame and anger, and said viciously: "-I apologize for the mistakes I made, I'm done!" He pushed away Goyle and Crabbe who came out from nowhere to stop him, and left angrily.

"What a beautiful duel," Malfoy walked up to Winston, stretched out his hand and gave him a polite smile, "I think I need to reintroduce myself first. I am Draco Malfoy, heir of the Malfoy family, and your classmate."

Winster shook his hand back, "Winster White." He paused, "It seems you already know, Malfoy." Winster introduced himself, "I am the apprentice of the potion master Severus Snape."

Draco nodded at him friendly: "You can call me Draco,"

"The potion shop that Professor Snape recommended to you has a stake in our family." Malfoy explained to Winster.

No wonder Malfoy knew it so quickly.

"So you just came?"

"——I came to see you, Winchester." Draco said, "but I didn't expect you to sit with Weasley and the others."

He gave a look of disgust, "There's another-" Mudblood.

Draco hadn't finished his words yet.

Winster raised his hand to interrupt him, squinting his eyes and staring at his mouth, "If... you want my friendship, Draco... I suggest you consider carefully what you are going to say." Winster warned.

Draco's expression changed, and he glanced at Hermione sitting in the carriage. "You are still the same." He whispered, his voice almost inaudible, then turned and left angrily.

Winster didn't call him back, but turned back to the carriage. Hermione was about to ask him about the duel with Selwyn -

The light bulb above my head suddenly flickered and then went out with a click.

Winster looked outside in astonishment - the fiery red sunset was still shining brightly on his face.

The train stopped at some point, the corridor was dark, and an extreme chill swept over them.
