HP: For a better world

Chapter 32 Noisy Breakfast

Snape sat at the teacher's seat, stirring the teacup with a spoon at a steady pace - if you didn't notice that he had been stirring with an expressionless face for most of breakfast time.

He was thinking about his revisit to Maria's orphanage with Dumbledore yesterday.

It was different from what he had seen when he first went to guide the little wizards living in the orphanage. This orphanage, which bore the name of the Holy Mother of the Muggle world, was already somewhat dilapidated.

"Oh... who are you?" When they knocked on the door of the orphanage, a fat woman poked her head out from behind the door with a surprised look on her face.

Dumbledore gave her a kind smile.

The woman seemed to have received an answer and opened the door suddenly.

"So you are Mr. Dumbledore and Mr. Snape who made an appointment to visit last week. Please come in quickly."

The woman quickly invited them in, "The previous dean passed away due to illness a few weeks ago. I am the new dean, Tina - you are here to visit the school, right?"

("Did you Confound her?" Snape whispered to Dumbledore behind her.)

"I just jogged her memory," said Dumbledore. "In fact, I did make an appointment here, but I made the appointment when I left school last year. Forgive my busy schedule, I have postponed this trip for a long time, and I thought I would have to wait until much later." He said softly, "After all, our focus must be on Harry."

Snape nodded silently.

They passed a courtyard where several children were playing.

"May I ask how White is doing in school? Although you are a boarding school, it is too closed. Every time the child goes to school, there is no news. There is no way for him to tell us whether his school life is good or not."

Tina said as she walked.

"In this situation now... I don't know what to do when he comes back."

"I'm sorry, what happened?" Snape asked, looking at the desolate environment around him.

It's become quieter here compared to last time.

Tina hesitated for a moment, and then a little girl stumbled out of the hallway, threw herself into her arms and asked incoherently:

"Is White... Is White coming back?"

Tina picked her up and shook her, tapping her nose with her hand in anger, "Alice, why are you out again? I told you not to disturb Tina when she's entertaining guests."

Then she looked up while holding the child in her arms, "I'm sorry, gentlemen, we are short-staffed right now, and the children are gathered in the classroom to play by themselves."

"Where are the others?" Snape asked on behalf of Dumbledore.

"Resigned or was investigated," Tina replied.

The little girl curled her lips.

"White, you did nothing wrong!" The little girl suddenly looked at Snape and said crisply, not showing any sign of fear towards him.

Snape always gives people a cold and gloomy impression, which often makes him full of negative comments in the eyes of others.

And he usually doesn't care about it.

Dumbledore smiled and took out a bar of chocolate from his pocket to tease her, like a kind old grandfather: "What did White do, can this lovely lady tell me?"

The little girl took the chocolate, blinked her eyes slyly, and answered cheerfully: "He reported the uncle who wanted to hurt me to the newspaper."

"White told us that this unauthorized behavior was wrong and would make the candy bitter."

Tina next to him wanted to stop him, but then sighed.

Alice: "I know you're here to ask about White, and I can tell you about White's brother - but I still want chocolate."

Her eyes were blatantly directed towards Dumbledore, who had just given her the chocolate.

Dumbledore touched his pocket with a look of regret and spread his hands towards Alice, indicating that he had no more chocolate.

They both looked at Snape.

What are you all looking at me for? Snape's mouth twitched, and he took out the extra chocolates given to the two Sicos by the Knight Bus from his robes and stuffed them into the little girl's hand.

"!" Alice smiled and held two pieces of chocolate, "Thank you, Professor Snake!"

The only person present who had anything to do with snakes was Severus Snape.

"Do you know him, little Alice?" Dumbledore asked in surprise.

At this time, they had already reached the director's office of the orphanage. Tina put Alice on a chair next to her and turned around to pour two cups of tea.

She placed the tea in front of Dumbledore and Snape.

This place is no different from when Snape first came to pick up White.

Alice sucked a tiny bit of chocolate on her finger, where she had just eaten the chocolate Dumbledore had given her.

"Of course!" Alice said, "Professor Snake is White's favorite teacher!"

Snape's expression was blank for a moment.

Dumbledore was about to continue asking with great interest.

"Okay, Alice." Tina stopped her gently, "You should leave here. I still need to communicate with White's teachers."

Snape saw a strong look of reluctance on the child's face.

"Okay..." Alice took out Snape's unopened chocolate from her arms and put it in Tina's hand. "Remember to tell White when he comes back that this is the chocolate Alice left for him."

Her fingers lingered on the chocolate foil until she watched Tina open the drawer with a few candies and lock it before leaving the office.

After Tina closed the door again, she came over to greet him, "No wonder you look familiar. It turns out you are Mr. Severus Snape, who recruited White."

Dumbledore picked up the teacup and took a sip, then picked up a few sugar cubes with tweezers and put them in.

Snape had no impression of her, so he could only hum and change the subject stiffly, "For some reasons, we need to know a little about White's past life."

Tina: "Is it a family visit? I will definitely cooperate, just ask."

----

Snape was thinking back, chewing a piece of white bread tastelessly.

A burst of applause from the Slytherins brought him back to his senses.

He looked over——

The group of Slytherins who had been singing loudly before, just finished singing a paragraph, surrounded Malfoy and applauded enthusiastically as he seemed to have made some remarks.

Potter stood up angrily, pulled out his wand and pointed it at the other side. Both houses stood up at the same time and pointed at each other.

Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff hurriedly evacuated the battlefield.

"Everyone, sit down!"

Snape growled with extreme impatience, "Especially you - Potter! At breakfast time, you want me to leave a deep impression on you today!"

"But it was Malfoy who started it first--!" cried Harry indignantly.

"Shut up." Snape impatiently fiddled with his wand in one hand.

"You too! Malfoy." Snape said warningly, accurately predicting Malfoy's next provocation.

Malfoy was about to laugh loudly, but when he heard the words, he suddenly became weak like a chicken with its neck strangled.

Professor McGonagall walked in through the small door and saw everyone standing. She stopped in surprise and asked in surprise: "What's going on? Why are you all standing there? Is there something important to announce?" She looked towards the teachers' seats.

"Severus?"

"No, it's nothing, Minerva," Snape answered for all the frozen students.

"They just suddenly fell in love with the feeling of standing in public as punishment." Snape's mouth curled slightly.

"Oh?" Professor McGonagall looked strange, "Is that really the case?"

She asked the standing Slytherins and Gryffindors.

Everyone nodded palely.

McGonagall: "Okay. Severus, the headmaster wants to see you."

"I'll be right there," Snape replied.

----

Breakfast time was over quickly.

As the last professor finished breakfast, the Slytherins and Gryffindors, who had been standing for an extra half hour, were finally able to move their stiff legs and feet, stretching their arms and kicking their legs to move away from their seats.

"Do you think Professor McGonagall knows that we almost got into a fight?" Ron rubbed his legs with a grin, kicking and punching to exercise his body.

Hermione walked past him and rolled her eyes, "It's obvious that Professor McGonagall has guessed what happened and just acquiesced to Professor Snape's method of punishment."

Ron uttered an "uh" and noticed two test tubes with a corner of them sticking out of Hermione's arms.

"What's that," Ron asked. "What's your new thing?"

"Oh, no." Hermione picked up the bottle with two fingers and shook it in front of Ron and Harry. "This is a cat tonic that Winston made for me. The formula was given to me by Hagrid. It has been raining these past few days, and Crookshanks got his fur wet at some point. He caught a cold and has been sneezing all the time. I went to Hagrid for help, and Winston happened to be there too, and he was helping me ask this question!"

"Wow." Ron said sarcastically when he heard it was for Crookshanks, "Isn't it because Slytherin won the game that he came to comfort you? Look, you're not angry now!"

Hermione looked at Ron speechlessly: "Why don't you listen to what you are talking about? Winston is just worried about Crookshanks."

"He might have gone there to show off Slytherin's victory."

"It's a shame Winster isn't interested in Quidditch."

"Only Muggles wouldn't be interested in Quidditch!"

"Haha, then go and call Muggle in front of Winster."

Harry was stuck in the middle, listening to his two good friends quarreling across him with a numb face. As Scabbers became thinner and Crookshanks became more aggressive, the quarrels between the two became more frequent.

"What are you shouting?" Winster suddenly appeared in front of the three people and asked in surprise.

Harry rushed forward excitedly and shook his hand. Winston was startled and almost took a step back subconsciously.

"What happened???"

Winster asked in surprise. Why is Harry so excited, with a look of salvation on his face?

"No, it's nothing," Harry said quickly. "Didn't we agree to go see Professor Lupin together? Let's go!"

Winster took a glance and the two men with angry faces snorted and parted ways.

Hermione: "Don't even think about copying my homework tomorrow, Ron!"

Ron: "What? I'm not going to do Snape's homework anyway, so I won't copy it!"

Hermione became even angrier when she heard this. She kicked Ron hard and turned away.

Ron yelled and pulled his feet off the ground. He shouted angrily, "Is this unreasonable? I told her I won't copy, why did she step on me?"

Winston and Harry looked at each other.

"I also have to deliver medicine to Professor Lupin. I'll go first. Goodbye Ron!" Winster said decisively.

"I, I'll go deliver the medicine too!" Harry was a step late and quickly reached out and chased after him, shouting.

"?!" Ron said angrily, "Both of you!"

"He's in cahoots with Hermione!" Ron cursed, and then he noticed a long-lost movement in his pocket.

Scabbers poked half of his head out of Ron's pocket and fixed his two small black eyes, as big as green beans, on the hurriedly retreating figures of Harry and Winston.

Next to it, Ron was still anxiously asking it how it felt.
