HP: For a better world
Chapter 15 Eternal Friendship?
Winston and Hermione seemed to be playing a game of who would lose if they spoke first. They were silent all the way, neither of them knowing how to start, until they reached the Black Lake.
The Black Lake was very quiet today. There were few people on the lawn as everyone went to the auditorium to enjoy dinner. Only the Black Lake was sparkling. The moonlight was coldly shining on the lake and reflected in the eyes of the two people.
But no one cared about the beautiful scenery, they were all immersed in their own world.
Winster walked over to a huge rock at the edge of the Black Lake.
This place can effectively block the view from other places. A little further away is the forbidden forest, and it would be too dangerous to go further.
Winster half leaned on the stone, with one hand in front of his eyes to block the moonlight: "What do you want to ask?"
"Thestrals," said Hermione. "What on earth did you mean by what you said the other day?"
"What do you mean?" Winster asked her back.
"Forget," Hermione said emphatically. "What on earth was your story trying to say?"
"You mean the Vanishing Spell?" Winston deliberately misinterpreted. "I thought you were going to discuss your views on the Thestrals with me."
"You know what I'm asking, the forgotten girl, are you worried about your memory?"
Winster was silent.
Winster stared at Hermione in the darkness and said slowly, "I don't think I'm the person you used to know."
And you only know the surface of him, Winster thought.
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Hermione shook her head in amusement, "You're just too upset because of your amnesia, Winster."
Winster sighed and stared at the bright moon in the sky which was being obscured by clouds.
"…Do you really think I'm still the same as before, Hermione?"
"'He' is quieter than me." Winston avoided Hermione's gaze and stared at the bright moon, not daring to let his emotions reveal themselves... The moonlight was so beautiful.
It hid in the clouds, leaving only a faint halo.
"You just lost your memory. Don't you believe in Headmaster Dumbledore? He is such a great wizard." Hermione looked at her friend whom she had known for almost three years, who was trapped in the anxiety caused by his memory loss, and comforted him: "Don't worry about this, Winster, we are friends."
Hermione still remembered that they knew each other even before Hogwarts. They met because of a student speech. They spoke as representatives of the male and female students respectively, and Hermione noticed him at that time. White always seemed to be out of tune with the people around him. Although he was born in an orphanage, his every move was restrained and cold. Unlike those classmates who refused to talk to her, she was full of calmness and restraint. Many classmates were jealous and admired her privately, but no one could really get close to her.
Hogwarts connected them.
Hermione said seriously: "No matter what you become, we will always be friends."
Now it seemed as if the invisible barrier had disappeared and there were more smiles. Hermione was even a little happy about the change.
Winster's expression became even more dull, "... forever?"
He whispered softly: "Forever..."
But even since her last friend disappeared, she still thinks he and White are the same person.
Maybe, maybe it's really the same person, with the same hobbies, the same habits, and even the handwriting has traces of inheritance...
But Winster never thought so. He knew very well that no matter how similar he and White were, they would never be the same person again after losing their memory.
Just like White wouldn't leave Winster any message from his former friend.
Winster understood that the diary was not left for him... It was full of deception and concealed secrets, and White left nothing for Winster.
winster and white
Just two people using the same body.
"...No matter what I become, we will always be friends?"
Winston looked at Hermione in the dark with an earnest expression, his lips moving in vain but unable to find the words to describe them.
——What a great and touching sentence...Whoever hears it will be deeply moved.
But Winster couldn't do it. It was as if a crappy wizard had cast a Fiery Curse in his heart, burning out his courage and beginning to eat away at his heart: "Gryffindor..."
He suddenly laughed, and the sound disappeared into the silence.
"You are a Gryffindor indeed."
What a great friendship from Gryffindor indeed.
It was so hot that it hurt the snake.
"Let me be alone for a while." Winston lowered his head, took a step back and opened Hermione's hand that was stretched out to stop him, "I need time."
He turned his head away, pursed his lips and whispered, "Sorry."
A lot of spinning.
The daylight returned to noon.
The British sun is not hot in autumn. Winster put away the time converter, walked slowly on the lawn, found a spot on the lawn where he could be shaded by trees and enjoy the sunshine, and lay down.
There were so many people walking in the afternoon that anyone passing by could see him. But Winster just wanted to disappear and not be discovered by anyone.
He held his wand to his head and whispered, "Invisible."
The cold liquid slowly enveloped his entire body, and he disappeared from the spot.
The Disillusionment Charm that he had always wanted to learn finally succeeded, but Winster was really not happy. He casually summoned his notebook and let the quill pen wave to write down the key points and experience of the successful Disillusionment Charm. The notebook was filled with records and thoughts on various spells. There was a note about the Forgetfulness Charm written by White: [Memory determines existence]
A Bowtruckle came from nowhere and laughed shrilly above Winster's head. Winster became even more annoyed. He turned over, covered his ears, and turned to the other side to bask in the sun, immersed in his own world.
Sleepiness soon enveloped Winston. Although he was worried about many things, he was also very tired these days. Even though he got more rest time through the time turner, his nerves were still tense. He was looking forward to and feeling uneasy about Hogwarts, and was suspicious and afraid of the original owner's friends.
The dream was not peaceful either.
Winster's brows were furrowed, his face wrinkled.
…………
"Buzz, buzz ...
Winster felt a pain on his scalp.
"Who is it?" Winster sat up angrily, removed his invisibility and stared at the person who came.
His hair was stepped on.
"Wow, are you harassing me?" the little witch with shaggy blonde hair asked excitedly.
Winster frowned and cleaned himself up, then heard this extremely confusing question.
"???"
Winster's wand stopped in mid-air, and everyone was stunned. "What are you talking about?"
All thoughts were blown away by this strange title.
"What harassment?"
Winster was in chaos.
Luna said happily: "It's just a bunch of harassing wizards. Dad has seen it, and I have seen it too!"
This had to be Luna. Without a doubt, there was only one Ravenclaw in Harry Potter who looked crazy and spouted harassment.
"I'm not a harasser... I'm a wizard, a little wizard like you." Winster tried to explain.
"Ah, but you still have a group of harassing bulls flying around you... I have never seen so many harassing bulls!" Luna waved her hand briskly at Winster - or to be more precise, at the air next to Winster, as if there was really some bug there.
Winster couldn't help but glance in the direction she was waving.
"Eh... they flew away?" Luna's disappointed voice came from behind.
"Are you no longer confused?" she asked.
Winster was stunned by the question.
Luna suddenly looked at Winston with a surprised look, moving back and forth in the air around him.
"Wow, they're back again - are you really not a harasser?"
"Really, no." Winter felt powerless. "Are there really so many harassments?" He asked, covering his face.
"Yes, look, this is the biggest one of them." Luna grabbed the air, then spread her hand and pointed it to Winster seriously.
Winster only saw mud mixed with grass clippings from somewhere in her palm, and her expression was indescribable.
"Oh...you can't see it, it seems you are really not harassing people." Luna said disappointedly.
It was hard for Winston not to look relieved.
"So you just encountered some problems and got stuck, right?" Luna's tone quickly became cheerful again: "Do you need me to be your tree hole? Maybe I can help you drive them away."
"...Tree hole?"
"Dad often encounters harassment. Sometimes there are too many harassments, which will disturb him from seeing more hidden things."
Luna shook her carrot earrings, "At this time, he will need a tree hole to help him eat all his troubles, so that the harassment will no longer get into his ears." Luna looked at Winster, took the wand from behind her ear and chanted a "block ear" to herself.
"Just like this!" she said cheerfully. "Now I'm going to pretend that I'm a tree hole, and you can tell me what's bothering you."
Winster opened his mouth and barely found his train of thought: "You..." He hesitated, not knowing how to start. Seeing Luna smiling and encouraging him, he began to speak slowly. Luna pretended to hear him and nodded from time to time.
Winster seemed to want to pour out all his fears and anxieties.
"...I hate to say forever so casually...She doesn't even know. I don't believe that people without memories can still be the same as before. People are made up of memories - how could she not know! She should be the person closest to White!" Winster almost wanted to shout out. He gritted his teeth, but the sound leaked out from between his teeth, "...Why did he kill himself? Let me face all this -"
He lowered his head and was silent for a long time.
Finally, he took out his wand and whispered "Spell Stop".
Winster raised his eyes, his eyes were still red but he had already started to smile: "Thank you, Luna, this is really a good idea - have all my harassing bulls flown away?" He tried to speak in a light tone and made a flapping of wings with his hands.
Luna took a closer look and said, "Look, the last one came out of your ear." She pointed at the invisible flying insect beside Winster's ear, as if there was really something flying in the air.
Winster reached out to grab it, and for a moment he seemed to really touch a smooth, trembling flying insect. Its wings gently brushed across Winster's palm, and then escaped through his fingers.
"I... I think I touched it?" Winster spread out his hands doubtfully and looked at his palms over and over again. In his empty hands, he still felt the illusion of a wing scratching his palms.
Luna looked in the direction Winster grabbed it in surprise. That seemed to be the direction where the harassing bull flew away. She turned around and exclaimed: "You seem to have scared it. It flew in a beautiful S shape in the air. It's really powerful."
Winster made an inviting gesture, hoping that Luna could talk to him.
"Do you know me from the past?" asked Winster.
"No." Luna shook her head, "We only met in the corridor."
"Then why aren't you curious about how I know your name?"
"Maybe in your eyes, many people have their own names on their heads. Just because people don't know about them doesn't mean they don't exist, just like the Scimitar-Horned Snorkeller." Luna blinked.
"Curved-Horned Snorlax?"
"Scimitar-horned Snorks are shy, friendly creatures that hate light and heat and prefer cold, damp places. Dad said they can Apparate, so they're always hard to spot." Luna suddenly started a strange dance, like the circling dance at a party, probably called a waltz.
"Like the flashing dodo bird in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them books?"
"What is that?" Luna walked in circles on the gravel road.
"A book about the many beautiful animals in the wizarding world," said Winston. "Perhaps you could send a letter to the author. I think you could find the answer to the Scimitar-Horned Snorkle there."
Luna stopped, looked at the top of her head, and reached out to touch it: "Did they tell you?"
She looked confused and did not touch the words that might appear above her head.
Winster said seriously: "No, the invisible beast told me. The book says that they also have the ability to predict the future."
"Did they tell you my name too?" Luna thought thoughtfully.
Winster said seriously, "Yes, the Invisible Beast also told me that you have a horn of a Snorlax at home - take a picture of it and put it in the letter and send it out, maybe you can get a reply from Mr. Newt."
"Wow, did it tell you about the horn too?"
"Yeah, and it also tells me that you're going to wear a roaring lion head hat in the future - that's really cool."
Winster and Luna walked until they were close to the castle before saying goodbye.
"Bye Luna."
"Goodbye, Raven." Luna said briskly, and it was obvious that she was very happy. "By the way, a little advice, if you are still confused, you can go to someone close to you, just like my father and I."
"Thank you for your advice, Miss Rabbit. Next time I will remember to ask you about the meaning of crows." Winster paused and said with a smile.
"You're welcome. I'll remember to share my reply with you."
Luna waltzed away.
