The Great Dream God

Chapter 6 Wife and Children

For two consecutive nights, Da Hu was troubled by an inexplicable uneasiness. He noticed that his son and wife would quietly leave their beds in the dead of night, as if being pulled by an invisible force and disappearing at the door of the bedroom in the moonlight. Their behavior was mysterious and strange, as if they were participating in a secret ritual late at night.

Da Hu stared at the dark night through the half-opened curtains. He saw them quietly walk out of the hut, through the silent courtyard, and finally disappear at the edge of the eerie forest. Deep in the forest, there were waves of indescribable noises, like whispering ghosts, which made people feel creepy.

The forest seemed peaceful during the day, but at night, it seemed to come alive, full of unknown horrors. The figures of Dahu's son and wife were looming in the shadows of the trees, and their conversation was swallowed by the night wind, leaving only their firm and strange steps. Dahu's heart was full of doubts and fears, and he decided that no matter what, he must uncover this mystery, even if it meant stepping into the creepy dark forest.

Da Hu followed silently, stepping into the dark forest. The fallen leaves under his feet were like a thick carpet, covering up all the sounds. His eyes were alert, but he tried his best to remain calm, as if everything was normal. However, the scene in front of him made his heart beat faster, and a chill ran from his spine to the top of his head.

His wife and son were seen lying on the ground, their mouths stained with blood, holding a few untreated birds in their hands, with messy feathers, still struggling weakly. Those birds had obviously just been captured, and before they could even scream, their feathers were roughly ripped off, and they were swallowed up along with their painful cries.

Da Hu's son, the once innocent little boy, now had a wild excitement on his face, and the hair at the corners of his mouth was clearly visible, which was the trace left by the bird's struggle. And his wife, the gentle woman, now had the fever of hunting in her eyes. They seemed to have been completely immersed in this cruel game, completely ignoring how horrifying the bloody scene was.

Da Hu stared blankly, his fear and doubt intertwined, forming an indescribable depression. He didn't understand why they became like this, why this peaceful forest became so terrifying. He wanted to stop them, but he was afraid of touching the madness in their eyes.

Da Hu's pupils suddenly contracted, reflecting no longer the quiet moonlight, but a deep fear. On his face, a look of fear emerged quietly like a ghost in the night. The eyes that once walked fearlessly in the forest were now filled with fear of the unknown. He turned around, wanting to escape from this forest soaked in the cold moonlight, but every step was like walking on thin ice, trembling and precarious.

However, just as he was about to step into the darkness, a terrifying shadow spread silently from behind him. A thick tentacle, like a claw from the abyss, suddenly stretched out at a suffocating speed, and its end flashed with a cold luster, like an invitation to death. The tentacle instantly wrapped around Da Hu's body with incredible strength, tightly binding him like an iron chain, leaving him no chance to struggle. Da Hu's screams echoed in the forest, but were ruthlessly swallowed by the night wind, leaving only the cold touch of the tentacle and endless fear. In this hell shrouded in moonlight, he has been ruthlessly captured, and the judgment of fate has come so unexpectedly.

Da Hu's body stiffened instantly, and his heart felt like it was pierced by an ice cone. The octopus' tentacles, with their endless darkness and coldness, tightly wrapped around his body, like an inescapable web of death. He struggled to twist, trying to escape from this horrible bondage, but the tentacles were so powerful that they were suffocating. He was forced to turn his sight behind him, and the scene made his blood freeze.

His wife and son, the distance between them was twisted by a strange force, and they were glued together like conjoined twins. The boundaries of their bodies were blurred, as if they were sewn together by invisible threads, forming a deformed, unrecognizable body. The shocking scene was like a nightmare picture, and people dared not look directly at it.

The wife's gentle smile and the son's lively eyes were now completely wiped out by this strange fusion, replaced by a strange and terrifying existence. Their voices and their breath were swallowed by this strange adhesion, leaving only silent fear spreading in the air. Da Hu's heart fell into the abyss. He knew that this was not ordinary. His world was completely turned upside down at this moment.

In the dim light, Da Hu's wife and son stood, their images had become distorted and terrifying. Their bodies were strangely spliced together by some mysterious force, forming a creepy stitched monster. This grotesque creature had two completely different heads, one was the gentle face of Da Hu's wife, and the other was the childish face of Da Hu's son. The two faces appeared alternately in the darkness, full of endless fear.

Behind their bodies, thick tentacles like giant pythons broke out, twisting and wriggling like the arms and legs of an octopus, as if looking for prey. These tentacles were covered with sticky liquid, dripping on the fallen leaves, making a suffocating sizzling sound. They danced in the darkness, appearing and disappearing from time to time, giving people a sense of uneasiness and trembling, as if the entire forest was trembling under their shadows.

This stitched monster formed by the fusion of two people is the nightmare of the forest and the master of the night. Their eyes are empty and deep, as if they hide endless stories and secrets. People dare not look directly at them, but can only look at this extraordinary existence from afar with fear. In this cursed forest, Da Hu's family has become a symbol of terror, and their appearance has become an indelible shadow in the hearts of everyone who dares to step into this place.

Da Hu's face was distorted and almost deformed, his eyes were full of disbelief and deep fear, as if he had seen the most horrific scene in the world. His voice was sharp and piercing, like the shrill cry of a ghost in the middle of the night, echoing all around: "You monsters, you are not human! Let me go, let me go, I beg you, this is the last time I ask!" His hands struggled frantically, and the iron chain in his hands made a painful creaking sound.

Cui'er, the woman he once loved deeply, now became so strange in his eyes. He called her name desperately, trying to recall the familiar warmth, "Cui'er, how can you not recognize me? I am your Da Hu, your man, your support!" His voice trembled, full of endless pleading and confusion.

Xiaohu, his child, the continuation of his bloodline, his world. Dahu's voice was almost broken, and every call seemed to be torn from the depths of his soul, "Xiaohu, my son, I am your father, your protector! How can you be so indifferent to your father?" His tears and sweat intertwined, sliding down his muddy cheeks, reflecting a soul corroded by fear.

This scene is like a nightmare, creepy but inescapable.
