I have a Mount and Blade panel and I kill people in the Game of Thrones
Chapter 101: Stannis and Lyon
"Of course, he is the attendant of your majesty."
Stannis secretly breathed a sigh of relief after hearing Melisandre's answer.
Although he did not notice, Melisandre, who had always believed in him, seemed to reveal some hesitation in her tone today.
Melisandre was reluctant to admit it, but based on her existing memories, she had lied to Stannis with this sentence.
Then she looked at Leon suspiciously, not understanding why the Red God R'hllor would tamper with the contents of her memory.
Could it be that the current commander-in-chief of the Night's Watch will be the one who sits on the Iron Throne in the future and ends the troubled times?
"How is that possible? He is a member of the Night's Watch... Once he has sworn an oath to serve the Night's Watch until his death, it is impossible for him to participate in the Game of Thrones in the Seven Kingdoms."
Thinking of this, Melisandre calmed down. Although Leon looked at her with interest, it was only limited to the appreciation of beautiful things. Unlike other people, he didn't care even if his eyes were about to fall out and his saliva was dripping.
"Hey, girl, are you interested in being my princess?"
Olaf wiped the saliva from his beard with his hand, and then wiped it on his clothes carelessly. He stood up, staring at Melisandre intently, and spoke in a rather impudent tone.
Faced with Olaf's open courtship, Melisandre simply smiled at him and didn't mind at all.
But just because she doesn't mind doesn't mean Stannis can tolerate others' disrespect for his princess.
Stannis slapped the armrest and stood up. Davos spoke before his lord got angry:
"Commander-in-Chief, we are here to discuss important matters, not to attend a blind date convention. You can ask your men to withdraw."
Davos is a devout believer in the Seven Gods, and therefore is disgusted by Stannis's conversion to believe in the Lord of Light under Melisandre's instigation. However, Melisandre's persuasion played a big role in Stannis's journey north, and even if Davos is unwilling, he has to speak up to help Melisandre out.
"His Majesty Stannis originally wanted to support the Night's Watch in exchange for their help. Right now, the Seven Kingdoms are in chaos. We need the full support of the Night's Watch and even the free folk to defeat the usurper Tywin Lannister, the Warden of the West. We can't just give them food and fodder to get rid of them."
After listening to Davos's words, Lyon just looked at him without comment, and then slowly asked:
"As you can see, you are late. There are no enemies here anymore. We have eliminated the threats from the free folk and even the White Walkers. What reason do we have to participate in the Game of Thrones in the Seven Kingdoms? Moreover, it has been a rule since ancient times that the Night's Watch does not get involved in disputes between kings."
After saying that, Leon waved at Olaf, who looked at Davos defiantly, raised two healthy fingers in provocation, and sat back in his seat without saying a word.
However, Melisandre was obviously interested in Olaf's personality. She walked up to Olaf and even sat on his lap in front of everyone. She lifted Olaf's hairy chin with her slender fingers and said, "I'm so proud of you."
"You are a capable man, would you mind converting to the faith of the Lord of Light? I will let you have me."
Listening to Melisandre's words full of implications, Olaf nodded like a chick pecking at rice.
Seeing that her charm was still ineffective, Melisandre turned her head and looked provocatively at Lyon and Benjen Stark who were indifferent to her.
The reason why Benjen Stark was indifferent was that he had been a Night's Watchman for half his life and would not be easily seduced by beauty.
Leon already knew Melisandre's true appearance through the TV series.
No matter how beautiful this woman was, once he learned that her real age might be over two hundred years old, little Leon would definitely be dejected and tremble.
Stannis seemed a little angry about Melisandre seducing another man in front of him. He drew the long sword at his waist and stabbed it heavily into the campfire in the middle of the camp, splashing large sparks and attracting everyone's attention.
And he himself, as if he could not feel the burning pain, held the sword which was gradually burning red, and finally when he pulled the sword out of the campfire.
The entire sword was surrounded by a blazing nameless fire.
Inside the tent, all the free folk were stunned by the superb acrobatic performance of the king from the south, as if the air was filled with the smell of burnt flesh at Stannis's hands.
And Olaf, a man who was extremely obsessed with the flesh and blood of kings, stared at Stannis's palm intently, as if he was appreciating an extremely tempting delicacy.
"Last night, I gazed into the hearth and saw what was in the flames. I saw a king with a crown of fire on his brow, burning... burning! Davos."
As he spoke, Stannis pointed the flaming Sword of Light at his Hand of the King.
"Indeed, I should have come earlier, and perhaps I would not have come at all if my Hand had not reminded me. Lord Seaworth, though of humble origins, reminded me of my duty. At the time, I was obsessed with power. Davos was right, I put the cart before the horse, seeking the throne to save the country. This was putting the cart before the horse. I should have saved the country first, and then won the throne."
Stannis was unwilling to leave empty-handed. He looked at Leon with a fierce look in his eyes:
"Since you claim to uphold the rules of the kingdom, then I demand your unconditional support for me. Otherwise, as the legitimate king of the Seven Kingdoms, I have the right to judge you for your crimes."
Stannis's words undoubtedly broke off relations with Lyon, the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch.
The atmosphere in the tent suddenly became tense.
The knights from Dragonstone guarded Stannis on both sides, while Olaf and other free folk suddenly stood up and surrounded Stannis and his group with axes in hand.
Seeing this, Leon smiled, stood up and asked leisurely:
"I wonder, Your Majesty, which law of the kingdom have I violated?"
"You allowed these wildlings to go south and rest in the new land without the legal order of the king and the Warden of the North. This is undoubtedly a betrayal of the oath of the Night's Watch and a violation of the laws of the kingdom."
Stannis sneered. His words, which seemed to be in a righteous position, made many of the Night's Watchmen present feel uneasy.
To this day, half of the Night's Watch still resists and does not understand Leon's order to let the wildlings go south.
The saying "Those who are not of my kind must have different hearts" applies everywhere, not to mention that the ratio of the number of Night's Watch to that of Wildlings is nearly a hundred times.
It was difficult for the Night's Watch to understand the role of the Free Folk Horn to the wildlings, and they were unwilling to believe that such a small object could buy loyalty.
