Stardust in the Moonlight: Little Wildcat, Don't Try to Run Away
Chapter 335 The friendship between life and death
After Rongyue and Nangong Yunyi finished chatting at the entrance of her grandfather's ward, seeing that her grandfather needed to rest, and feeling sleepy herself, she decided to go home first without waiting for Mo Chen to pick her up.
Rongyue's elevator arrived at the first floor, and many people came in after the doors opened. They were probably all going to the underground parking garage. Rongyue saw that Yilin also entered the elevator.
"Yilin!" Rongyue called out to Yilin, but there were several people between them, and Yilin seemed not to hear her.
When Rongyue arrived at the basement level where the car was located, she ran into Yilin, who was standing at the door, as she got off the elevator.
Seeing that Yilin had her head down, Rongyue nudged her and asked, "Aren't you going down?"
"Don't go!"
Rongyue listened to Yilin's cold and low voice, and saw that Yilin only lowered her head and did not look at her. She glanced at the elevator buttons, and only the fourth basement level was still lit up.
Now only the two of them were left in the elevator. Rongyue reached out to stop the elevator door from closing and nudged Yilin, asking, "What are you going to the fourth basement level for?"
"I want you to take care of it!"
Suddenly, Yilin looked up and stared at Rongyue. Rongyue was startled; this Yilin was a completely different person from the one she had been chatting with just now.
“Eileen… what’s wrong…” Rongyue reached out to Eileen.
"Don't touch me! Get off! Don't get in my way!" Irene pushed Rongyue's hand away and shoved her.
Rongyue was pushed out of the elevator and almost fell. After Rongyue steadied herself, she saw Yilin press the close button on the elevator door very quickly.
Just as the elevator doors closed, Rongyue saw Yilin smile at her with a smirk that sent chills down Rongyue's spine and made the hairs on her body stand on end.
Rongyue snapped out of her daze and quickly grabbed a nurse who came out of the elevator next to her to ask what the fourth basement level was. The nurse said that the fourth basement level was a morgue and warehouse that had been abandoned for a long time.
Upon hearing the words "morgue," Rongyue already felt uneasy. Considering Yilin's strange condition, she quickly entered the elevator and went to the fourth basement level.
The moment the elevator doors opened, Rongyue felt a chill rush towards her, sending shivers down her spine. This feeling was strangely familiar; the basement where she had been kidnapped by the strange man was also a similarly eerie place, which intensified Rongyue's ominous premonition.
Rongyue checked her phone and saw there was no signal. With a determined heart, she stepped into the darkness outside the door.
The dark corridor was lit only by green emergency lights. This floor had obviously been abandoned for a long time, and there was a damp, musty smell mixed with the smell of the hospital, which was very unpleasant.
"Yilin!" Rongyue shouted, but her voice was trapped in the empty corridor and there was no response.
"Eileen!" Rongyue saw a figure turn into a room at the end of the corridor.
Rongyue hurried after her and saw that Yilin had locked the door from the inside. Then she went straight to a drawer on the wall and opened it. That should have been where the body had been stored before. Strangely, the nurse had said that this place had been abandoned for a long time, but when Rongyue saw Yilin open the drawer, she saw that it was emitting cold air.
"Yilin! Yilin!" Rongyue pounded on the door, calling for Yilin.
But Irene had already lain down in a drawer, and as soon as she did, the drawer closed automatically.
Rongyue was sweating profusely with anxiety, but the door was firmly shut and she couldn't open it no matter how hard she tried.
Suddenly, Rongyue saw a little boy appear next to the drawer where Yilin was lying. He looked about 7 or 8 years old and had a fair and pretty face. The little boy anxiously tried to touch the drawer where Yilin was, but was suddenly thrown far away.
Rongyue pounded on the door, signaling the little boy to open it for her.
The little boy quickly went to the front door and unlocked it.
Rongyue rushed into the room and pulled open the drawer with all her might. She saw Yilin lying stiffly inside, the only difference between her and a dead person being that her eyes were unusually wide open.
Rongyue patted Yilin's face. "Yilin!"
Irene did not react.
The little boy suddenly jumped on Irene and patted her, yelling, "Get off my mommy!"
Seeing the little boy's actions and hearing what he said, Rongyue quickly put the bracelet on Yilin's wrist.
In an instant, the little boy on Irene's body was thrown far away, and something else was also thrown out. Before Rongyue could see what it was, Irene suddenly woke up, panting as if she had woken up from a nightmare.
"Rongyue!" Yilin grabbed Rongyue as if she had grasped a lifeline.
Rongyue quickly helped Yilin up.
Irene sat up, her teeth chattering from the cold. "I just... couldn't control myself!"
"Where's your phone!" Rongyue felt around in Yilin's pockets and found nothing there.
"It seems I fell into the garden...and then I suddenly couldn't control myself. I saw you and wanted to call out to you, but..."
Still shaken, Yilin emerged from the drawer and hurriedly explained, while Rongyue rubbed Yilin's arms to warm them up.
"I'm not going to talk about it... I know what's going on, let's get out of here first!" Rongyue looked around and took Yilin's hand. "No matter what happens, wear this bracelet! It can save your life."
Irene glanced at the bracelet on her wrist. She had regained her senses and strength. She looked around. Although she couldn't see anything, her experience had given her a general idea of what they were going through. Then she pulled Rongyue and quickly walked towards the door.
Bang!
Just as the two of them were about to leave, the door suddenly closed.
Irene tried to pull and push the door, but it wouldn't budge and wouldn't open.
"Damn it! This is so weird!" Irene cursed, then turned around and shielded Rongyue behind her. "What the hell are you? Show yourself! What kind of skill is it to play these underhanded tricks!"
Rongyue burst out laughing when she heard what Yilin said.
Irene turned her head and looked at Rongyue, who was smiling, with a puzzled expression.
“These things can only be done in dirty tricks! How can you even reason with them!” Rongyue said with a smile as she looked at Yilin.
"You can still laugh!" Irene looked at the other things in the room. Since it was electrified, there must be something that could connect it to the outside world.
As soon as Irene moved, all the drawers in the room suddenly began to open and close rapidly, as if they had gone mad, and the lights also began to flicker on and off.
This was the first time Irene had ever seen such a bizarre sight, and she was stunned and didn't know what to do.
Suddenly, all the drawers opened, but the lights went out.
The room fell into darkness and the temperature began to drop, getting colder and colder.
"Who did you offend that they would do this to you?" Rongyue asked Yilin.
"This isn't just messing with me! This is clearly trying to kill me! What should we do? I can kill people, but I've never seen anything like this before." Irene turned to look at Rongyue behind her.
Rongyue thought for a moment, then stepped forward from behind Yilin and looked around the room. "Come out. Let's talk. With this bracelet protecting her, you can't touch her."
"Who are you talking to?" Irene asked Rongyue in a low voice, frowning.
"Something that wants to kill you."
Irene shuddered and looked around the silent room. "I can't see anything..."
"Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha…"
A child's laughter echoed in the empty room, which was quite eerie.
Rongyue saw something that looked like a child, entirely black with a blood-red tinge, peek out from a drawer, its blood-red pupils staring abruptly at them.
"It's good that you can't see it." Rongyue sighed, staring at the dark thing, which seemed to be watching them and laughing.
"why?"
"Because it's so ugly!" Rongyue muttered under her breath.
The two chatted quietly, because Rongyue didn't know what to do for the moment. But judging from the situation just now, this thing was afraid of Nangong Yunyi's bracelet. It couldn't move them for the time being, and the situation was deadlocked.
“How good can a ghost be?” Irene whispered back.
"No, there are good-looking ones. The little boy standing over there is quite handsome. He'll definitely grow up to be a heartthrob!" Rongyue said, glancing at Yilin. "He looks like you."
"What do you mean?" Irene frowned and looked in the direction Rongyue was looking, but saw nothing.
"Have you... had a miscarriage...?"
When Yilin heard Rongyue's words, she looked at Rongyue. She and Yiming had miscarried their first child, and no one else knew about it.
"About 7 or 8 years ago?" Rongyue looked at the little boy and then at Yilin.
"How did you know!" Irene looked at Rongyue seriously.
“This child must have been following you. Last time we met at the hotel, do you remember my daughter saying that the brother next to you was nowhere to be seen? My daughter and I both saw him, but we didn’t tell you because we realized he didn’t mean you any harm.”
Irene's eyes welled up with tears.
"He must have been protecting you the whole time, otherwise you would have been in trouble long ago."
Irene raised her hand to wipe away her tears. "Rongyue... is there any way for me to see him?"
Rongyue looked at Yilin, who was shedding tears, and she could empathize with her because she had also lost a child.
"You can see that, but you can also see the other one. Aren't you scared...?"
"What's there to be afraid of! I can only find a way to kill it if I can see it! Otherwise, I can't do anything."
Rongyue thought Yilin was right, so she bit her finger and dripped the blood into Yilin's eyes.
Irene blinked to ward off the red in front of her eyes, and then she actually saw the little boy standing not far from her, and of course, that ghostly thing.
Irene reached out her hand to the little boy and said softly, "Come here."
The little boy, who had been standing calmly, burst into tears upon hearing Irene's words. He ran toward Irene, but was bounced away just before he could touch her. He sat there watching Irene cry, looking as if he was in great pain.
As Yilin wiped away her tears and approached the little boy, Rongyue pulled her back. Rongyue glanced at the bracelet on Yilin's wrist.
Irene was about to pick it.
"No!" The little boy stopped Yilin even faster than Rongyue.
“If you take it off, that thing will hurt you!” The little boy pointed to the ghostly thing still hiding in the drawer.
"It would be terrible if you got controlled again! You're so strong, how am I supposed to put it on you again! I can't beat you anyway!"
Irene looked at Rongyue and Rongyue's belly, and then she stopped.
"Don't cry, can you go out and ask for help?" Irene looked at the little boy.
The little boy had composed himself. He looked at the gate and shook his head.
Rongyue leaned back against the door, trying to relieve the soreness in her legs. She hadn't felt it because she had been running so fast and was nervous, but now that she had stopped, her back started to hurt.
"I'm sorry, I've dragged you into this." Irene turned to look at Rongyue, her face full of apology.
"Yi Ming saved me, how can I just stand by and watch him die?" Rong Yue supported her waist with one hand and leaned against the wall for support with the other.
Seeing that Rongyue seemed uncomfortable, Yilin felt they needed to find a way out quickly. She noticed that the two of them were breathing out warm air, indicating that the temperature was dropping. Besides, Rongyue's due date was approaching, and this disturbance might make her give birth even sooner.
“It’s trying to freeze us to death…” Rongyue looked at the thing that had been hiding motionless in the drawer.
Yilin hugged Rongyue and rubbed her back, but both of them were shivering from the cold, so the effect was minimal.
Irene felt really guilty for dragging Rongyue into this mess as well. The problem was that whenever she moved, the lights in the room would keep flashing and the drawers would open and close wildly, just like before, forcing her to do nothing.
"I'll deal with it!" Rongyue patted Yilin on the shoulder.
