Lin Chong, Wu Song and the three young Ruan brothers led nearly 3000 soldiers and had made full plans before arriving at Kyushu Island. If the Japanese army was strong, they would make a roundabout reconnaissance and then look for a chance to break through. However, they did not expect that when they arrived at the port of Kyushu Island, they found that the defense force garrisoned there was not as strong as that of Ryukyu. Therefore, after understanding the opponent's military layout, they took the port in one go as a bridgehead for entering Kyushu Island and settled down there first.

These Japanese warriors who bully the weak and fear the strong seem to have these bad qualities. They highly respect opponents who are stronger than themselves, but sneer and disdain those who are weaker than themselves.

According to the captured samurai Kameyama Kokuro, there are dozens of large and small forces on Kyushu Island. The largest of them is the Kameyama family, which has about a thousand samurai. Small forces with only dozens of samurai account for the majority, and armed conflicts often break out (actually, fighting with weapons), which do not even reach the scale of an ordinary battle.

Several other Japanese warriors also echoed him and expressed their willingness to surrender and be loyal to the "Heavenly Soldiers and Generals".

In the feudal system of Japan, "shogun" is a special official position, representing a certain level of centralized power. The daimyo refers to the hereditary lord of the local area, usually the leader of the samurai group. They are nominally vassal of the shogun, but actually have great autonomy and military power. Therefore, the daimyo is not directly ruled by the shogun, but as a vassal of the shogunate, he is loyal to the imperial court (the emperor).

After a brief consideration, Lin Chong accepted the captives' surrender and loyalty. He also promised that after occupying the new territory, they would become the new lords, but if they were found to be disloyal, they would be killed at any time. The Japanese captives were terrified and kowtowed like pounding garlic, saying that they would be grateful and loyal to the "heavenly soldiers and generals" until their death.

Although the position of the Shogun of Wakoku was important, his relatively large territory and large number of samurai enabled him to exert influence and punish to a certain extent. However, the Shogun could not directly rule over all the lords, such as the daimyo, because they were independent and had their own territories and spheres of influence. In history, this complex hierarchy and affiliation often led to local daimyo challenging the authority of the Shogun.

With these Japanese warriors who were willing to surrender and pledge allegiance, the armed force of more than 3,000 people led by Lin Chong, Wu Song and the three young heroes of the Ruan family became the largest armed force on the island of Kyushu. They quickly annihilated some lords, big and small, and absorbed some warriors who surrendered and pledged allegiance, and replaced them as puppets to become new daimyo and lords.
