HP: I just wanted to drop out of school, but I saved the world
Chapter 76 Summer Vacation Begins
Dumbledore was sitting in his office with his feet up, contentedly making the final stroke on a piece of parchment.
This is the "Summer Plan" he made, which aims to give Jian Yu a healthy, sunny and uplifting holiday education.
But his good mood was interrupted by a pile of invitations, and an ominous premonition arose.
Jane Yu took out a stack of letters from her robes, with the Malfoy family crest shining brightly on the top one.
The brightness was so great that he closed his eyes and even took off his half-moon glasses.
No matter how kindhearted a person is, he would probably curse in his heart when he sees the culprit who caused him to be dismissed from his post.
Jian Yu asked him in a seemingly "well-behaved" manner whether he could go to his classmate's house to play during the summer vacation.
Dumbledore took the invitations and flipped through them one by one... The Greengrass family... The Flint family...
no! This is absolutely not okay!
Who knows what kind of purism these people's parents will instill in their children!
What would he do if he led Jian Yu astray and gave him a child who was full of mudblood and looked down on people?
What a vicious intention! Perhaps he wants to get into the Phoenix Society through Jian Yu and disintegrate the masses!
Or they may directly poach my talents and use them as a threat to me!
After putting away the letter, he took a long breath and forced a kind smile:
"Not bad, not bad, it seems that you get along well with your classmates——"
He really couldn't brag anymore, so he changed the subject:
"However, we will be visiting the Scamanders this holiday, so I'm afraid you'll have to inform your classmates of your plans."
Jian Yu smiled and agreed readily.
She had no intention of going to her classmate's house, but being able to use these letters to slightly piss off Dumbledore, who acted on his own, did make her feel a lot better.
After dealing with this pile of letters, Dumbledore's mood improved. He picked up the parchment from the table again and prepared to read his densely packed plan to Jian Yu.
"I have many old friends who, after hearing about you, are eager to meet you."
"Let's go visit Mr. and Mrs. Flamel first. I remember you promised them last year—"
His words were interrupted by an owl banging frantically against the glass outside the window.
"Oh, sometimes accidents happen so suddenly."
Dumbledore muttered something, moved the tip of his wand slightly, and the window of the headmaster's office opened by itself.
At the same time, his smile disappeared, and the ominous premonition in his heart deepened -
Because in the owl's mouth, there was a red, struggling, howling letter!
Jian Yu had never seen Dumbledore look so bad.
He took the twisting, howling letter and held it between two fingers at one corner, laying it flat on the table.
"If we don't open it soon, it will explode and roar even louder." Dumbledore smiled bitterly, "Perhaps we will have to listen to some vulgar words, or you want to cover your ears?"
Although her curiosity about the gossip was almost beyond words, Jian Yu still respected his privacy and covered her ears.
But she never expected that the letter would not give her any chance to "respect privacy" at all, because its roar was so loud that it could not be solved by covering her ears with her fingers. Almost all objects and decorations in the principal's office were shaking, and the portraits were complaining with dissatisfaction.
"F****** Albus, I never would have thought--"
"You *** adopted a child without telling anyone!"
"F***S*** this is such an important matter - and you just mentioned it so casually!"
Jian Yu could feel the anger contained in it, because there were a lot of words starting with F and S in it, which could almost be described as insults. She had never heard anyone speak so rudely in Hogwarts.
"If you don't bring her here, you'll never come into my bar again! I mean what I say!"
The flaming red letter tore itself into pieces in anger and burned to ashes on the desk. Dumbledore's crooked nose was covered with ashes. He reached out to wipe it, but the stain spread even further.
"Perhaps we have to change our plans a little." He sighed and drew a big addendum at the front of the parchment. "It's my brother, Aberforth - I hope you won't be afraid. He is a good man, but he can't read very well."
He looked like he had a terrible headache, with all the wrinkles on his forehead visible, and one hand pressing on his temple.
......
Hogsmeade.
The two walked on the road in silence.
Dumbledore looked troubled.
But he quickly came to his senses, realized there was a child around him, and started to liven up the atmosphere:
"Hogsmeade is a gathering place for wizards. You will come here only after your third year, with your guardian's signature. I hope you will like it here."
He stopped on his way to the Pig's Head Bar, touched his purse, and planned to take Jian Yu to visit the village.
The two walked into Honeydukes.
"Would you like something to eat?" Dumbledore had completely regained his smiling face. "Candy can make people feel better. Perhaps you would like some chocolate balls?"
Jane Yu symbolically picked a small bag of chocolate balls with strawberry custard filling. But when she turned back to look at Dumbledore, she found that the small basket in his hand was already full.
The shop owner, Mr. Froome, was obviously very familiar with this old customer. He followed him closely and recommended products such as Ice Mice, Fudge Flies, and Toad-shaped Cream Mints.
"It's so rare to see you bring a student here," Mr. Frum said jokingly. "She looks really nice. She must be a student you value!"
Hearing his child being praised, Dumbledore felt his wrinkles smooth out, and the corners of his mouth hidden under his white beard couldn't help but rise, just like those parents who show off their children:
"Oh, indeed - she is indeed excellent and has won the Special Contribution Award for two consecutive years."
Mr. Froome was keenly aware that his compliments were very pleasing to this old customer, and he began to flatter him again:
"Merlin, such an outstanding student, with your guidance, will definitely have a bright future!"
"I can't promise that." Dumbledore chuckled, "I hope I can be as good as you - that's enough, this is enough for several months!"
He said enough, but he continued to select things and took the second shopping basket handed to him by Mr. Froome.
"I'm just lucky," said the owner of the best candy store in Britain modestly. "If I hadn't met Mr. Slughorn, I wouldn't be where I am today."
"Oh? Are you still in touch with him?" Dumbledore's eyebrows moved slightly, expressing his appreciation. "He has a keen eye for talent, no doubt."
"Of course!" Mr. Froome confirmed. "I send him candied pineapple every year on his birthday. I was there just last month!"
Dumbledore pondered for a moment, then spoke:
"I hope everything is going well for him. Maybe I should go visit him."
