HP: I just wanted to drop out of school, but I saved the world
Chapter 35 The end of the semester
Jian Yu was indeed brewing some things, but they were not as earth-shattering as Dumbledore imagined.
She was just thinking about how to avoid the exam in History of Magic which required writing.
After all, it really challenges her English level.
She had discovered a bug in the Hogwarts examination system, which was that the retention system was extremely lenient. Even if she didn't take one or two final exams, she could still raise her average score and advance to the second grade with her excellent scores in other exams.
The temperature is getting higher and higher, and the air is gradually filled with the sultry atmosphere of the summer solstice.
It also heralds the arrival of final exams.
The little snakes have been communicating less these days. Everyone is immersed in the pressure of reviewing. The only sound echoing in the common room is the "rustling" sound of turning pages.
Only Jian Yu was sleeping soundly without any care in the world.
She had already decided to only take the practical exams, because she had fallen asleep in the History of Magic class and had no idea what Professor Binns was talking about. She was afraid that she would only be staring at a blank piece of parchment if she took the exam.
Besides, she was different from other little snakes. No parents forced her to take the test and go home with an "O".
Therefore, she was fearless and became the most leisurely person in the whole school.
Every time she wandered through the common room, the little snakes would look at her with admiration.
——How confident and well-planned!
——Is this the world of the strong?
The exam season arrived as expected. The question for Charms was to make a pineapple tap-dance across a desk. This was easy for her, and she could even make the pineapple gracefully salute the audience on the table. The Transfiguration question was to turn a mouse into a snuff box. She used her imagination to turn it into a gold diamond-studded box with a clasp that could open automatically. Professor McGonagall gave her an "O" on the score sheet on the spot. Not to mention Potions, her forgetfulness potion was taken away by Snape as an example for the next grade students.
The exciting exam was over quickly, and the atmosphere in the common room returned to its former relaxed state.
At the end-of-year banquet, the hall was decorated with red and yellow curtains representing Gryffindor, and a lion was painted on the banner. They won the Quidditch trophy, and they hardly had any major deductions.
Slytherin lost the house cup by a very small margin, even though Jian Yu had made up for the 100 points that were deducted at the beginning of the school year.
Perhaps this is the fate of cannon fodder, Jian Yu sighed in his heart.
At the long silver-green table, everyone's face was gloomy.
Prefect Gemma and Quidditch Captain Flint bowed their heads deeply.
Losing to Gryffindor made them feel like thorns on their backs, as if ants were crawling on them.
Jian Yu could hear laughter coming from the red and yellow table at the end of the auditorium.
Some senior Gryffindors who were not very tactful shouted at Flint:
"Thank you, Flint, for our Quidditch trophy!"
She could feel the Quidditch House Captain almost hexing the man uncontrollably.
Fortunately, Prefect Gemma held him down.
A moment later, Headmaster Dumbledore arrived and stopped the two men from engaging in a full-scale fight.
"Another year has passed!" he said cheerfully, "You have a whole summer vacation ahead of you. I hope you have fun..."
Jian Yu noticed that many Slytherins blocked their ears, refusing to listen to these clichés.
Dumbledore on the stage began to preside over the award ceremony of the House Cup:
"The specific scores of each house are as follows: fourth place, Hufflepuff, 352 points; third place, Ravenclaw, 426 points; Slytherin 462 points, Gryffindor 473 points."
There was a sudden burst of thunderous cheers and stamping of feet at the Gryffindor table. Harry, Ron and Hermione hugged each other, and many of them jumped directly onto the table.
"Vulgar," Blaise commented simply.
Draco threw the silver spoon in his hand onto the plate with a loud thud.
He gnashed his teeth and said to the little snakes around him:
"This isn't fair! Jian Yu beat the dark wizard away, but he didn't get any points!"
Obviously the Slytherins all realized this, and their faces became extremely ugly.
Prefects Gemma and Flint stood up from their seats and pulled up Jian Yu who was sitting next to them.
Next came Draco, Blaise...all the little snakes from first to seventh grade stood up.
The other three houses looked at them in amazement.
They walked out of the auditorium in silence, lined up in an orderly manner.
"Wait a moment, children." Dumbledore cleared his throat and stopped them. "I still have a few final points to distribute, regarding two important honors."
"First, Miss Jade Jane from Slytherin - her article "Processing Methods and Uses of Babo Tuber Pus" was successfully published in the International Potions Research. In recognition of her outstanding performance in potions, Slytherin will give her 10 extra points!"
Now they are only 1 point away from winning the College Cup.
But the little snakes remained silent, staring at Dumbledore, because they had not yet heard the bonus points they wanted.
"In addition, there is another score that also belongs to Miss Jane - she is smart and sharp, and she bravely fought against the dark wizards. She showed fearless courage and extraordinary courage. I will reward her 50 points for this!"
The cheers were deafening, one wave higher than the other.
The Slytherin table hadn't erupted into such loud cheers in nearly a hundred years, as if an explosion had occurred.
Jane was almost drowned by the crowd that rushed up to hug her. The prefect Gemma cried and laughed, strangled her tightly, and shouted Merlin's briefs. Fortunately, the Quidditch team members rushed over to rescue her and lifted her high above their heads. She had to try hard to keep her balance, for fear of falling and throwing her soul out of her body again.
The little snakes clapped until their hands turned red, and everyone had an excited smile on their face.
The Gryffindors on the opposite side fell silent as if they were under a binding spell.
Ron murmured, "See Malfoy? I've never seen him smile like that before."
Harry looked over and saw that he was banging a silver goblet on the tabletop, his mouth almost reaching his temple.
Although he knew that this was what Jane Yu deserved, he was still filled with frustration when he saw Malfoy's smug look and missed the house cup.
"Merlin..." he heard the prefect Percy lament, "this girl, I remember she was very unhappy with Slytherin at the beginning of the term - when did she transfer to Gryffindor?"
Yeah, why isn't Jane Yu from Gryffindor?
He thought gloomily.
Dumbledore had to cast a loudspeaker spell to drown out the Slytherins' cheers:
"That means we need to make some small changes to the decor here."
He clapped his hands, and the hanging red ribbons and curtains turned green. The lion on the banner turned into an "S"-shaped giant snake, and silver-green sequins fell down.
Another round of cheers rang out that almost shook the roof off.
Even Professor Snape raised his lips and shook hands with Professor McGonagall, causing all the students to look at him with horror. This was almost the first time that everyone saw him smile anything other than a sneer.
After the end-of-year banquet, the exam results were announced soon after.
As a celebrity in the school, Jian Yu's achievements attracted much attention.
Based on her crazy performance in class, many people thought she would be top of the grade.
But what was unexpected was that Hermione took that position, while Jian Yu was second in the grade.
But the little witch felt something was wrong. She checked her report card and said to Harry and Ron in shock:
"Did you see Jade's report card? She got full marks on all the tests she took!"
"She got all the extra points, not a single point was deducted!"
This surprised the two boys, and they quickly asked:
"Then why isn't she number one in the grade?"
Hermione took a deep breath and looked towards the Slytherin dormitory with admiration and yearning eyes:
"She didn't even take the History of Magic exam! It shows as absent on her report card!"
The news spread quickly and Jian Yu once again became the focus of everyone's attention.
What a confident and proud person!
The achievements that they were so anxious about became like a toy to adjust their mood in her hands!
It turns out that the gap between people can be so big!
According to many Slytherin students, their parents also learned about this matter and wrote in a letter:
[Look at Miss Jian, she can still rank second in her grade even though she missed one subject. What about you? ]
Suddenly, she became “the other people’s child” in the eyes of parents in the wizarding world, and was surrounded by resentful looks from her classmates wherever she went.
......
The holidays are coming soon.
The Slytherin students have packed their things and boarded the train home.
Jian Yu was the only one left in the common room again.
She soon received a message from Dumbledore, asking her to pack her things and get ready to leave.
