HP: White Lord of Slytherin
Chapter 95: Friends in Conflict
In October, the weather in the UK turned colder, there was more rain, and more people became sick. The good news was that the notice to go to Hogsmeade village finally came down, on Halloween Eve.
Draco was not happy for long as he fell ill. He went to the hospital wing to take medicine and refused to let Gloria visit him no matter what, as he thought it was stupid to have steam coming out of his ears.
Gloria decided to wait until he was willing to come out and then have a good talk. She didn't mind if he had steam in his ears.
Many students gathered in the library to discuss how to do their homework.
Gloria saw Hermione and Harry, but no Ron. She walked over briskly and patted the girl with still fluffy hair. "Hermione, why are there only two of you?"
"Gloria?" Harry was doing his homework opposite Hermione. When he saw Gloria, he quickly looked behind her to see if there was that annoying platinum stain.
"No need to look, Draco is in the medical wing, he is sick." Gloria kindly reminded.
Harry relaxed, "Great, I don't have the energy to argue with that guy right now."
Hermione was still holding the book, her fluffy brown hair almost covering her face. Gloria asked Harry directly, "What's wrong with her?"
"I had a conflict with Ron because of the pet." Harry explained, "Hermione's cat likes to catch Ron's mice."
Hermione no longer remained silent, with a tangled expression, "I'm sorry... but Crookshanks is a cat, and catching mice is its nature. I have tried my best to restrain it and always locked it in the dormitory, but I can't order it to erase its nature-"
Gloria remembered the mouse. Ron sometimes brought it with him to Transfiguration class. Last year, he made a lot of jokes with his nearly broken wand, but his mouse was the only one that was strong enough.
"They had several arguments about this before school started," Harry added, shrinking his head, afraid that Hermione would be angry. "Scabbers is old, and Ron even bought some rat tonics, but there's still no sign of improvement. We've had a deep affection for him after so many years."
"How old are you, five?"
No matter how well you raise a mouse, its life span is no more than three to five years.
"It seems to be more than that." Harry thought, "Anyway, it's a pet given by Percy, and it has been with Ron for nearly three years."
"My cat was wrong about Scabbers, but I'm even more angry about Lavender the rabbit!" Hermione looked like she was about to cry.
Gloria looked at Harry curiously, asking what was going on.
"Lavender's rabbit died, and she was very sad about this." Hermione began to narrate the situation herself. "I tried to analyze rationally whether she was so scared because of Professor Trelawney's prophecy or because she was afraid of the rabbit's death. Ron said that I didn't care about the life and death of other people's pets at all."
Harry nodded beside him.
Gloria held her chin in her hand and listened to the whole thing. After thinking for a moment, she said, "As for the mice, you can buy another mouse tonic to use for your apology and have a good talk with Ron about this matter. As for Lavender, you might as well talk about it directly, but you must make it clear that you feel sorry for the death of her rabbit."
Hermione took a deep breath and nodded, "I will, thank you for your advice."
"You have been good friends for several years. It's normal to have some conflicts. Didn't I also have a conflict a few months after becoming friends with you last year? We are all fine now."
Harry recalled that Ron had called Salazar a lunatic, and Gloria had been furious at the time. "Ron said you were scarier than his mother when you were angry."
Gloria curled her lips, "What kind of metaphor is that? What are you going to buy on your first visit to Hogsmeade?"
"Oh, speaking of this." Hermione glanced at Harry and said with regret, "Harry's list is unsigned. He is the only one who left it among the third years."
Harry's expression changed immediately. He lowered his head dejectedly and tried to continue doing his homework, but he couldn't write a single word.
"It's better to forge a signature." Gloria said, "If you rely on his aunt and uncle, Harry won't be able to go to Hogsmeade before he reaches adulthood."
In fact, it is possible to use magic to get those relatives to sign, but it is not clear whether Harry is willing to do so.
Harry's eyes, which had just lit up, dimmed again. "I've already told Professor McGonagall that the list is unsigned."
Hermione disagreed and said, "Even if you didn't say it, you can't fake it—"
Gloria tilted her head to look at her. "So you're going to keep Harry alone in school? But this is the only way this year. I'll think of a solution next summer vacation."
Harry was discouraged. He couldn't get the autograph, and he couldn't fool the Dementors with the Invisibility Cloak, so he decided to stay in school and do his homework that day.
·
After much anticipation, the day of their first trip to Hogsmeade village arrived, and the third-year students were particularly excited.
Draco was completely recovered from his illness. He was wearing custom-made couple's private clothes, his platinum hair was neatly arranged, and his gray-blue eyes arrogantly swept over everyone who passed by.
There was a long line waiting to be checked by the administrator Filch. He looked carefully and stared at every face vigilantly.
"Then we'll go first, and I'll bring you something fun later."
Ron's voice came, Gloria turned around and saw Harry seeing off his two friends, looking listless.
Draco also saw the person and snorted lightly.
It was very cold today. Gloria's hand was held all the time. She looked up at the boy. His pale skin made his gray-blue eyes look even more profound. He was so handsome.
After checking the list, Filch led them on the road to the village, only in this way would the Dementors not attack them.
A student on the road saw the Dementors in the distance and shuddered. Someone took out the swollen-necked beast bubbles that had been prepared earlier and slapped them on his face. Immediately, the feeling of fear faded away, and his expression returned to normal and he no longer looked in the direction of the Dementors.
Hogsmeade village is very lively. Because it is the weekend, there are not only adult wizards but also many students here today.
The first stop was of course Honeydukes candy store. There were many students crowded at the door, but Draco had no scruples and simply pushed the people in front of him away. Everyone was in an excited state and didn't react much when being pushed. They just laughed and pointed at the products around them.
There were several clear glass jars filled with syrup near the door, and everyone dipped their drinks into them.
"Let's go inside and have a look."
Gloria pulled Draco along. The shelves were filled with all kinds of candies. The clerks were busy walking back and forth, scanning the entire place from time to time.
"Fudge." Draco stopped in front of a shelf and pointed at the soft pink candies. "You like this kind of stuffed candy the best."
Gloria picked up a box of soft candies and said, "Luckily I brought a small bag with me. I'll buy more. My family has never invested in a food store like this."
"If you're interested, we can invest together in the future." Draco is now beginning to understand the family business, and Lucius will teach him when he has time.
I was about to pay for the food I had on hand when I saw the clerk pointing in a certain direction and shouting, "You can only eat after you pay!"
The ones being pointed at were Crabbe and Goyle, both of whom were holding several in their hands, with syrup all around their mouths, and it seemed that they couldn't wait to eat them.
Seeing Gloria staring at them, they quickly walked over to pay first. Slytherin students could not bring shame to the school.
The clerk saw the gold galleons covered in syrup and stopped talking, but stared at them more intently.
