HP: White Lord of Slytherin
Chapter 8: Terrible Defense Against the Dark Arts Class
Draco flew around the Quidditch field for more than an hour with the latest model Nimbus 2001. The Quidditch tryouts were held in the second week of school, and the academy would select new members before then.
Current captain Marcus Flint is very optimistic about him. In fact, his performance is the best among the selectors.
After finishing, he went back to the dormitory to wash and change clothes, while recalling the contents of his father's letter.
Dear Draco:
Regarding Miss Albert you mentioned, I have checked the information. At that time, all the members of the Albert family in France had died, and their property had been divided up. If there were any heirs alive, the French Ministry of Magic would not swallow up all the property with other families.
Therefore, I am more inclined to believe that one of Miss Albert's elders is from the Albert family. Albert may not be her real surname, but there must be a relationship. Pure-blood families always have some ways to deal with the Hogwarts admission list.
As for the badge you described, I have no impression of it, and I have never seen the family portrait. For now, just interact with her normally.
Also, your mother told me that she doesn't approve of you joining the Quidditch team, but my promise still stands. If you succeed in joining the team, I will give the whole team Nimbus 2001.
——Love your father
Draco thought about how he didn't say hello to Gloria after the Herbology class and wondered what she was doing.
With this mood, he went to the auditorium, and saw the annoying Potter gang, and the Mudblood Granger and Gloria holding hands and chatting happily.
How dare she! Talking and laughing with a mudblood!
Pansy, who was following behind, immediately said, "Is she really a pure-blood? She's actually hanging out with Potter and the others. The Sorting Hat should really put her in Gryffindor."
Zabini shook his head. "Perhaps she doesn't care what we think."
He had felt last night that this new girl, apart from looking Draco in the eye, didn't take anyone else seriously, including him.
And I have a feeling that Gloria is not completely ignorant of them.
Draco snorted heavily and turned to sit at the dining table.
The tables of the two colleges approached each other. Gloria chose a seat close to the Gryffindor side. The food in front of her changed. She picked up the plate of food that she thought tasted good and turned around and shouted, "Hermione, let you try this."
The yellow rice in two iron pots is garnished with shrimps, crabs, clams, oysters and other seafood.
Hermione, who was a muggle-born, knew this. "Brazilian paella, isn't it the same for every house?"
Gloria leaned close to her ear and said, "This is a special treat from my elf. It's just as delicious as the ones made at the famous Brazilian restaurant."
Hermione nodded in understanding without asking any more questions. After thanking her, she turned around and took Harry and Ron to taste the food. It was Ron's first time eating exotic food and his mouth was full. Harry turned around and thanked her for sharing.
Gloria felt a strong gaze and looked up to see Draco with an angry expression, as if he had been betrayed.
In response, she just smiled brightly, and Master Platinum angrily lowered his head and stopped looking at her.
Soon there was movement from Gryffindor. The gray-haired boy, with his cheeks flushed with excitement, took a camera and took pictures of Harry. He said a lot of things and wanted to take a photo with Harry and get his autograph.
Gloria saw the embarrassment that crossed Harry's face.
Draco, who was secretly watching her, was furious when he saw this. Is Potter so worthy of attention?
"The famous Harry Potter is going to give out autographed photos." Draco, who was already angry, appeared beside Harry with two bodyguards. "This is Harry Potter's autograph. Maybe it can protect you from the dark arts if you keep it close to your body."
"Shut up Malfoy!"
Harry clenched his fists in anger, as if he was going to hit Draco in the face at the next second. The two bodyguards, Crabbe and Goyle, stood in front of him, and Draco stood behind with his arms crossed and watched the joke.
Seeing his idol being in trouble, Colin Creevey, who was asking for an autographed photo, stood up and said, "You are jealous of Harry!"
"Jealous? I don't want to have such an ugly scar. You're the only ones who like it."
Draco scoffed as much as he could, and there was laughter from the Slytherin group.
Gloria shook her head secretly. It seemed that Draco would fight with Harry endlessly whenever they met.
"Get away! Malfoy!"
Ron stood up angrily and stood next to Harry, staring at the group of people with sparks in his eyes.
"Be careful Weasley." Draco mentioned the howler letter in the morning and said sarcastically, "We would love to see your mother take you home. The howler letter made it clear."
At the mention of the Howler, the Slytherin students laughed even louder, and Harry and Ron were filled with shame and anger.
Draco didn't intend to end it, he turned to look at Gloria, "Why don't you help your new friends, Albert?"
Gloria, who was being watched, looked to the side, and everyone followed her lead and saw that it was Professor Lockhart. The charming and handsome man with blond hair and blue eyes smiled brightly, "Why are you all gathered here? I think I heard someone handing out autographed photos, why not add me in?"
Lockhart appeared and drew all the attention away. He put his arm around Harry and let Colin take a picture. After a few words, the farce ended. Draco led his men out of the hall and looked back to see Gloria staring at the two people being photographed in a daze.
The farce in the auditorium was soon forgotten by the students. Everyone was talking about Professor Lockhart's handsomeness and rich adventure experience, and began to wonder whether they would talk more about adventure in class.
Hermione pulled Gloria to sit with her as they went to the classroom, the girl's cheeks flushed.
Gloria looked around the classroom. Lockhart had decorated it with all kinds of fancy things. In the portraits that were as tall as a person, Lockhart was wearing elaborate and gorgeous clothes and occasionally smiled with his teeth showing. Many female students were fascinated by him, including Hermione.
Finally, Lockhart appeared, posed at the podium, listed a lot of his titles, then took out a stack of papers and gave thirty minutes to answer them.
The boys who got the test papers were speechless. What was the problem?
What is your favorite color? What is your greatest achievement?
Gloria sighed, wishing time could be accelerated at this moment.
Unlike Hermione who was writing furiously, Gloria only glanced over the books. Thirty minutes later, Hermione was praised as she wished and won ten points for Gryffindor.
What followed was the highlight of the class, when Lockhart brought out a cage covered with a cloth and claimed that it contained the most evil thing known to the wizarding world. All the students were inevitably nervous because of this statement.
After saying a few words very seriously, he lifted the shroud and revealed a dark blue creature about eight inches tall, with a small pointed face, jumping up and down and screaming at the top of its lungs.
"Cornwall elf." Seamus Finnigan couldn't help but sneer.
Lockhart's handsome face could no longer hold the smile, and he almost gritted his teeth and said, "Yes, what's wrong?"
Seamus immediately changed his tone: "Nothing, they are very dangerous."
He said so, but his eyes couldn't lie.
Furious, Lockhart opened the cage directly. "Don't underestimate these cunning elves. I have used a lot of spells to keep them alive. What you have to do in this class is to try to deal with them and drive them back to the cage!"
The Cornish elves flew out of the cage and destroyed everything, tearing up books, overturning tables, smashing glass, and splashing ink everywhere. For a moment, half of the students in the class hid under the tables, frightened by these elves.
Gloria saw that Hermione had crouched on the ground, leaning towards Harry and Ron, and yelled at her, "Gloria, come here and hide!"
"don’t worry--"
Gloria smiled happily and reached out to catch the elves, but the light elves dodged her hand, and Neville was grabbed by the ears by several elves and hung on the chandelier.
The class was in chaos. Lockhart wanted to wave his wand to clean up the situation, but the elf snatched his wand away and threw it out of the window. He had no choice but to hide. Neville was on the chandelier, panicking for help, and had no way of paying attention to what was happening to his classmates below.
Gloria caught an elf. The little creature with sharp teeth and mouth was about to bite her tiger's mouth, but the next moment its whole body froze. A snake head emerged from the lining of Gloria's outer robe. It was Golinia, staring at it with golden eyes.
The elf wanted to scream, but no sound came out.
"Oh, do you want to bite me?" Gloria stroked the top of its head with her fingers, almost lovingly. "You are so thin, you must be very fragile."
With the elf's panicked eyes, she handed it into her school robe and said, "Eat it, Golinia, and see how it tastes."
The three snakes worked together in their school robes to tear the elf into pieces and swallow it. Naturally, they would not let go of the creature that intended to hurt Gloria when it was brought to their mouths.
The other elves hadn't noticed their companions' situation yet and were in a rush.
The Slytherin students fled the classroom first, followed by the Gryffindor students. Gloria stood on the desk to catch elves.
As Draco ran, he saw that she seemed to be having a lot of fun, so he gritted his teeth and resisted the urge to run with her, and left the classroom.
Hermione was grabbed by the hair by the elf, and Harry slapped it away with a book. Lockhart was about to run, but seeing that there were only four people left in the classroom, he tried to force a smile and said, "What brave four students! Then please catch the remaining elves back to the cage."
After saying that, he quickly ran out of the classroom and closed the door.
In the end, the Cornish elves were caught one by one by them using the freezing spell. Gloria stole three of them and fed them to the snakes. I guess Lockhart wouldn't care whether the number of elves matched.
