HP: White Lord of Slytherin

Chapter 68 Entering the Secret Room

After Gloria came out, she walked all the way to the bathroom at the entrance of the Chamber of Secrets. When she reached the second floor, she saw Harry and Ron. They pointed their wands at Lockhart and went to the bathroom where Myrtle was.

She thought for a moment and chose to follow quietly.

The two finally get a chance to ask Myrtle about her cause of death, and realize that this is where the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets lies.

As Harry and Ron searched for the entrance, Lockhart did not try to escape, but instead watched their movements closely.

Finally, I saw a snake carved on the side of a copper faucet.

"Harry, this has to be it," Ron was sure. "Say something in your Parseltongue."

Harry was a little embarrassed. He stared at the snake on the faucet for a long time before he said, "Open it."

It seemed to Ron and Lockhart that he was speaking an incomprehensible language.

I saw the pool in front of me click, slowly sinking, and finally a very thick water pipe was exposed.

The two boys showed delighted expressions, knowing that if they could find the place, they might be able to rescue Ginny.

Lockhart was frightened. There really was a Chamber of Secrets in Hogwarts. When he was studying here before, he thought it was just a legend. But when he thought of the monster in the Chamber of Secrets, he no longer thought it was a good subject. He showed his greasy smile again, "It seems you have succeeded. I'll stay here..."

Harry and Ron pointed their wands at him again. Ron was particularly angry and shouted, "You go down first!"

In this struggle, Lockhart reluctantly approached the pipe and was kicked away by Ron. He felt relieved after the kick and said, "I wanted to do this a long time ago."

Harry slid down with his wand tightly gripped, and then Ron.

Myrtle watched the three people disappear into the pipe, and flew to the high window with some joy, looking at the moonlight outside. "Maybe soon I won't be alone here anymore... Oh - Harry Potter will stay in the bathroom forever to accompany the crying Myrtle, how romantic."

Gloria remained silent and used a levitation spell to control her body down. She didn't want to get contaminated by the dirt in the pipe.

Harry and Ron were talking when he landed gently on the ground. Lockhart was no longer as neat and handsome as before, but sticky all over.

Several people walked in carefully, sometimes accidentally stepping on animal bones, making a crackling sound.

When they turned a corner, Ron quickly reached out and grabbed Harry, pointed ahead and said, "Harry... there's something ahead..."

Through the faint light of the wand, they discovered a huge motionless shadow in front of them. The three were frightened and stood still for a while.

"Maybe it fell asleep." Harry was sure it must be the Monster of the Chamber of Secrets.

Even if it was in the way, they had to keep going or Ginny would die.

Lockhart learned about the abilities of the Monster of the Chamber of Secrets from the two men, and immediately covered his eyes to avoid being petrified. Harry walked in front, moving little by little.

Gloria stood behind and wanted to sigh, it was just the shed skin of Basil. The three snakes wanted to laugh, but they held back when they thought of Harry's Parseltongue ability.

Finally, the light from Harry's wand shone on the snake skin. Seeing that it was just a very bright green snake skin and not a basilisk, the three of them breathed a sigh of relief, and Lockhart even collapsed to the ground and fainted.

"He's still a professor like this? Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts!" Ron stared at Lockhart in a daze. Neither of the two second-year students was scared.

Harry was too lazy to comment.

Ron walked up to Lockhart angrily and kicked him, "Get up!"

The 'fainted' Lockhart stood up quickly, snatched Ron's wand, and pointed at Harry, "The adventure is over..."

Gloria also drew her wand, but when she heard Lockhart say that he was going to cast a Forgetfulness Charm on the two of them, she put her wand away without worry, but Ron broke and glued the wand back together. Even simple spells often failed, and there were even popping sounds. Casting such a complicated spell as the Forgetfulness Charm would only make things worse. This wand would probably be completely ruined.

Sure enough, when Lockhart recited the spell with a confident smile, the wand made a huge explosion, no less than the small bombs invented by Muggles.

There was a turbulence in the tunnel for a moment, and several large rocks fell from overhead. Several people dodged in a hurry, but Gloria was far away and was not affected much.

The falling rocks separated the three people. After making sure that everyone was safe, Harry decided to continue inside while Ron and Lockhart waited here.

After making sure Harry was far away, Gloria lifted the Disillusionment Curse and reappeared. Ron was trying to move some rubble when he heard footsteps and was startled. He thought Lockhart had woken up, but turned around and found it was her.

"It's you, Gloria, you scared me to death—" Ron covered his chest.

In the darkness, only Gloria's wand emitted light. When she walked to his side, half of her face was in the light and shadow, and the other half was silent in the darkness. Ron swallowed unconsciously, always feeling that she looked strange today.

His heartbeat slowly quickened, and Ron couldn't help but ask her, "Why are you here?"

Gloria turned her head slowly and looked at him apologetically, "I'm sorry."

Ron was horrified, pointing at her with shaking hands, "You...you are the heir of Slytherin?!"

After all, she was the one who discovered Colin!

"I didn't do the petrification." Gloria didn't deny it directly, "And you should get some sleep, even though the environment here is a bit bad."

Ron took a deep breath and was about to shout to the other side of the fallen rocks to alert Harry who was going in.

As soon as he finished inhaling, Ron rolled his eyes and fell to the ground with his head spread out.

Gloria said faintly: "No matter how you look at me, my behavior makes me look like a bad person..."

Then she looked at Lockhart who seemed to be really unconscious. Considering that he had pretended to be unconscious before, Gloria simply cast a stunning spell on him. After doing this, she waved her wand at the fallen rocks, and the rocks automatically parted to reveal a small path for people to pass through.

After walking a short while further, I saw an opened wall with two snakes entwined with each other carved on it, their eyes inlaid with sparkling emeralds.

Gloria cast the Disillusionment Spell on herself again and walked in without making any sound.

In the long, dimly lit secret room, there was a path in the middle, with many stone pillars with giant snakes entwined on both sides, winding upward until they disappeared into the ceiling. In the mysterious mist, there was a huge statue on the opposite wall, with an old, monkey-like face and sparse long beard...

Gloria thought she had seen it wrongly and squinted her eyes to take another look.

Did Salazar Slytherin make this statue himself?!

Why is it so ugly!

It was completely different from the image of Salazar in the family portrait.

Gloria took a deep breath and told herself that this was not the point today. The important thing was to take back Bagillisk and catch the guy who caused the trouble.

Harry had found Ginny, kneeling beside her and calling out.

Soon he started chatting with a tall, black-haired boy, and they seemed to know each other.

Gloria moved carefully, trying to get closer.

"Are you a ghost?" Harry asked the young boy.

“No, I’m a memory.” The boy said, “A memory that has been in the diary for fifty years.”

Hearing this conversation, Gloria's eyes fell on the diary thrown aside, which was the one that fell out of Harry's bag before.

Oh, you still don’t tell the truth even at this point. That’s not memory, it’s clearly a remnant soul.
